Q How do you deal with stress?

I de-stress by hitting the gym floor or taking boxing session and if I don't get the time to do any of these then I indulge in sweets.

Q What most?

stresses you out the Long hours of shooting and meeting deadlines stress me out.

I rehearse for my reality show every day after shoots. Since I am passionate about my work I tend to take things too seriously, which stresses me out.

Q Does your job leave you feeling stressed out?

My profession demands long working hours due to which I cut down on my sleep occasionally.

Q f How do you manage to ind a balance between work and regular life? I have a very packed schedule and long working hours.

Therefore, I try not to take my work home.

Q Does spending time with your family or friends help you relax? Spending time with my wife is helpful in relaxing. She is from the medical field so the topics discussed are different.

Q Are there times when you just need to get away from it all? I would want to take a weekend off, as it would help me de-stress and be fresher when I get to work the next time. It is the best way to chill out

Ali and Delnaaz pay tribute to Jeetendra

In the coming week's episode of Star One's Zara Nach Ke Dikha, the judges and contestants had a treat when both the captains performed to the Jeetendra and Sridevi hit song 'Nainon Mein Sapna'.

"We had a blast while performing on Jeetendra's number. The judges were also happy and thus gave us equal marks after the act," says Delnaaz.

"It was a treat to dance with Ali. He is a power packed performer. We rocked as a jodi and each of us gave our 100% and had amazing chemistry," she adds further.

Our khabroo reveals that, "Malaika said that their act was flawless and Ali resembled and danced like Jeetendra to the hilt. Delnaaz too complimented him really well."

"The judges jokingly said that Ali and Delnaz made a perfect real life couple which made both blush suitably and they quickly reminded the judges of their respective spouses," adds the source.

Way to go guys!

Delnaaz: I am proud of my physique
25 Jul 2008, 0000 hrs IST, MANJARI SABHARWAL ,TNN

Delnaaz Paul (TOI photo)
Delnaaz Paul, the lady who tickled your funny bone in TV serials like Yes Boss, Batliwalla House No 43 and movies like Kal Ho Naa Ho, is not just flaunting her dancing skills in an on-air reality show, but will once again prove her mettle on the silver screen in a number of films.

You've been associated with comedy for long. Was it out of choice or it just happened by chance?

"Initially it was by chance that I started getting such roles one after the other. But today, I am proud to do such roles since there are very few women comedians."

Have you consciously maintained this roly-poly look because of the kind of roles that you are being offered to you?

"Well, I think I am truly blessed. I am happy with the way I look. And it's not because of the kind of roles I get that I am not shedding weight. I just like the way I am. Period."

You're also doing several films this year. Tell us about them.

"Well, I am working in Ajay Chandok's Khalbali Hai Khalbali with Rakesh Bedi, Govind Namdev and Rajpal Yadav as my co-stars. I am also working in Saurabh Shukla's movie I Am 2 . Then there is Paying Guest in which I have been cast opposite Johnny Lever and Care of Mr Asgaonker And Family."

Which do you think is your most memorable performance?

"That has to be Sweetu in Kal Ho Naa Ho . That was the first time when the image of a friend changed completely. The role of a friend got a new definition."

A number of TV serials are being launched these days. How difficult do you think is to carve a niche for yourself?

"I agree that hundreds of new stars are making their debut everyday in the new shows. Look of almost all the characters is the same with similar make-up, outfits and hairdo. But at the end of the day it's your acting that matters. By the grace of God, I never had to try too hard to make a niche for myself, for, anyway I look very different."

It's the boys again in Zara...

The boy's team has once again proved that they are better performers in Zara Nachke Dikha. They have won the performance round once again and are ahead of the girl's team with just one point.

This is the second time that boys have proved their mettle. Though the boy's team has defeated the girl's team in the performance round, the girls are still ahead of the boys as the boys lost a lot of points due to the last face off round where Amit Tandon had to sit on the penalty bench.

Talking about the results Rupali Ganguly said, "Yes, the boys won but it is only because of their good selection of song and co-ordination. They were only five whereas six of us performed for the group act. Since they were less in numbers, it is obvious that their co-ordination and performance would be better than us."

When asked about the boy's team lagging behind in points in spite of winning the performance round Bhaktiyar said, "All I want to say is that it was the result of wrong judgment."

Amit Tandon agrees with Bhaktiyar as he said, "I did not deserve to sit on the penalty bench. Had it not been for my penalty, our team would have been ahead with total points."

The episode will go on air on july 28

It seems that it has become routine for all reality show contestants to turn cry babies when they lose.

Madhuri Dixit and Vaibhavi Merchant on Nach Baliye 3 More Pics
Whether it's the Shinjini episode that caused a stir or the recent mishap on an adventure show, reality shows are constantly in the news. And their eyeball-grabbing nature is undeniable. BT asks readers what makes reality shows work.

Who dares wins!

Shows like MTV Roadies and Fear Factor-Khatron Ke Khiladi , in which young guys and girls are faced with risky challenges, are the most-wanted reality shows. "You get a kick when you watch youngsters complete daring feats," says IT consultant Pallavi Khurana. "It's fun to watch boys and girls pitted against one another in situations that require the same level of skills," says photographer Gayatri Sharma.

Naach-gaana

Talent hunt shows like Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, Indian Idol and Boogie Woogie involving dance and music performances are very popular with families. Actress and anchor Mandira Bedi says, "It is evident from the numbers that these shows are in demand." Priya Sudeep says, "I thoroughly enjoyed Jo Jeeta Wohi Superstar as I'm a fan of Abhijeet Sawant." Entrepreneur Nikhil Sharma says, "Not only are these shows entertaining, they also have a lot of substance."

Shweta keeps it bare and basic

Define fashion

Comfort defines fashion.

Who chooses your clothes?

I choose my clothes most of the time. At times, I invite suggestions from others.

Do you like to accessorise yourself?

No. I like it bare and basic.

Is there any particular brand that you prefer?

Not really. I used to be a 'Mango' fan earlier and now I wear brands like Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, etc. I like to wear what looks good on me and what makes me feel comfortable.

What is your favourite destination for shopping?

I shop everywhere and the place where I find my size clothes becomes my favourite shopping destination. Since I have a petite structure, I don't find my size easily.

Which are the clothes that make you feel comfortable?

Blue denim and a white t-shirt or a shirt is what makes me look good and feel comfortable.

Who is your favourite designer?

Drashta, the designer who designs my clothes for Zara Nachke Dikha is my favourite designer. I like Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla though I can't afford them. They are the best Indian designers.

Most expensive outfit you ever bought?

It is a sari that I bought three months ago for my brother's wedding. I can't disclose the price as I don't want people to know the price of clothes that I buy. It is too personal.

Any particular colour that you like to see in your wardrobe?

White is all I like to see in my wardrobe. I wear a lot of colours like pink and red but nothing can match white.

A must have in your purse?

Basic necessities like my cell phone, credit cards, house keys and car keys.

What are the make-up products that you prefer?

I like 'Christian Dior', 'MAC' and 'Clinique' for make-up. I use my own make-up for shoots. I prefer the moisturiser and perfumes of 'Christian Dior'. All my shades and lipsticks are from 'MAC' and 'Clinique'.

A fashion tip

Carry your attitude with you and you will rock. Don't follow trends blindly. Wear what looks good on you and you will look the best.

A make- up tip

Make sure you wear a sun block cream and a moisturiser before you step out of the house irrespective of the season

Vikas Sethi does the 'thumkas'

by Meenakshi Shankar

Jul 28, 2008, Mumbai

Whoever said that it was only the belles who walked away with the matkas and the thumkas! Because, the latest hot stepper Vikas Sethi is indeed creating ripples with his perfect thumkas in Star One's reality show, Zara Nachke Dikha which would have you actually wondering - "Whoa, what is this dude doing in a reality show? He should be out there promoting Kathak on an international forum!"

For the lads to do a hip hop number and set the dance floor on fire with their moves is no big deal. When Chaitanya, Bakhtyaar and Gaurav rock the stage, it's taken for granted. We wouldn't raise our brows on the boys and their jalwa moves. And the fairer sex does walk away with the accolades, but again, it is nothing really to write home about.

So just when we thought that Zaara Nachke Dikha was another run of the mill dance reality show, came in a little titbit in the form of Vikas Sethi that caught our attention.

Our lad was upto the challenge of the Khallas Round. In this round the girls challenged the boys to perform a Kathak. Though Mouni is a trained Kathak dancer, it was Vikas who took away the applause from the judges. He learnt the entire act in just three days and performed it to perfection. Mouni performed on a classical song from 'Devdas' and Vikas performed on songs sung by the 'Live performers' on the stage.

And for a change, the boys walked away with the accolades.

We are left wondering if indeed Vikas is the harbinger of the news - "Boys are better than the girls" or is it just a one-off performance by the fantastic dancer? Either ways, this is one performance we are looking forward to tuning into.
