'BEWARE Gods, Not a..': Late Priya Marathe's husband Shantanu pens a heartfelt note

It has been a month since television actress Priya Marathe passed away, leaving behind a legacy of memorable performances and a void that her loved ones are still struggling to come to terms with. The actress, best known for her role as Varsha in Pavitra Rishta, died suddenly in early September 2025 at the age of 38 due to cardiac arrest. Her untimely demise sent shockwaves across the television industry and among fans who had admired her work for years.

On the one-month anniversary of her passing, her husband and actor Shantanu Moghe took to Instagram to share a heartfelt note expressing his grief and gratitude. In an emotional post, he thanked everyone who reached out during the difficult time and offered support in various ways — through calls, emails, WhatsApp messages, and across social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, and Facebook.

“This is a very special gratitude post for all those who chose different communication platforms like calls, emails, WhatsApps, X, Instagram, Facebook and the likes to express their love and blessings towards the Numero Uno Priya Marathe. Immensely thankful to all those — family and friends, fans and followers, acquaintances and unknowns — who expressed their feelings so generously,” Shantanu wrote.

Reflecting on the profound loss, he added, “The untimely, unfair, unfortunate, unexpected farewell from a so loving, positive and purest soul I know, left our hearts aching and bleeding. But she touched innumerable hearts and how — through work, art, love, care, kindness, behaviour, conduct, sensitivity, sensibility and most importantly, the actions and vibe matching all the above.”

He also made a poignant and emotional appeal in his message to the divine, writing:

“Beware GODS. Not a single more mistake by you, in taking care of her, loving her, will be forgiven. My angel... Till we meet again.”

Priya Marathe had a prolific television career spanning over a decade. Along with her acclaimed role in Pavitra Rishta, she also appeared in shows like Saath Nibhaana Saathiya, Kasamh Se, and several Marathi television and theatre productions. Her sudden passing continues to be deeply mourned by her fans, colleagues, and the television industry at large.
