And we thought that Zaara Nachke Dikha, the dance reality show on Star One was merely a war between the gender! Because, a little birdie on the sets tells us that for a day, all the 'strategizing' took a back seat when Bakhtyaar Irani threw a surprise birthday bash for his sister, Delnaaz Paul.

Contrary to most reality shows, we know this one is indeed 'zaara hatke' because the war is indeed, real and not scripted. The warring factions spend hours getting their steps right and figuring their next move.

But all the war strategy took a back seat when Bakhtyaar gave a real surprise to her sister Delnaaz on her Parsi birthday on the sets of Zara Nachke Dikha. Beer and yummilicious Parsi food flowed on the sets of the reality show. And, that's not all, he had a specially made cake for the occasion with her name and had her husband, Rakesh Paul come in and feed his wife the first bite of the cake.

On cloud nine, Delnaaz couldn't believe that her brother went to such lengths for her. "We have been close as siblings, but over a period, the surprise element has gone off our relationship. But, a surprise birthday bash caught me by suprise. I felt like a small kid! Definitely, one of my best birthday parties!"

When we caught up with Bhaktayaar, jocularly he said, "I was trying to appeal to her softer side and hoping the Parsi food, cakes and candles would lull her into losing the battle of sexes. But I should know better. My sister is a dynamo!" On a more serious note, he added, "As siblings, we have shared a great relationship. I wanted to do something special for her and a surprise party always works wonders!"

He's the flavour of the season. With two popular shows — Left Right Left and the dance based reality show Zara Nach ke dikha on the floors — Gaurav Chopra is on a spin.

Recently, he bagged the All India Achievers Award held.

"I was given the award for my contribution to the field of entertainment. Several other achievers from different occupations were awarded too. It was an elating experience" he says with a glint of pride in his eyes.

Acting apart, what has taken him and the audiences alike by surprise is his dancing prowess. "Amongst the boys in Zara…I am the only idiot who is not trained in any form of dance. So it comes as a pleasant surprise when I am told that I am a good dancer. Earlier when I was at the NIFT, Delhi, we would have these rocking parties which were the talk of the town because of the great girls and the cool environment. There I would try to show off by putting up a dance act with my girlfriends and would always be applauded. So I guess, dancing comes naturally to me," he laughs.

Was that why he chose to do Zara…even after his bitter experience with Nach Baliye?

"See, what upset Narayani and me at that point was that despite being strong contenders we were voted out by fellow participants. That was unfair especially because the audience wanted more of us. People protested with banners outside Siddhivinayak temple and even stopped me at several places saying we didn't deserve that treatment. Yet, I understand that it was the format of the show and it also allowed us to have personal interaction with our audiences. So when the same channel and production house approached me for the show, I couldn't say no. Of course, there were several offers for reality shows. But I liked the girls versus boys concept — it was like going back to school days where we fought with girls," the actor says.

Well, it does seem that Narayani and he come as an item? "Oh no, no" he laughs "Believe me, she was roped in at the last minute in Zara…when someone else dropped out. We also did a couple of episodes for Ghar ki laxmi betiyaan because the channel wanted us together. It's a compliment when we are told that we look good together on screen. But nothing more than that, please. And why shouldn't I work with her? Isn't it better to work with your best friend with whom you share a fantastic on-screen rapport than with a stranger?"

But one hears of their on and off relationship? "That's because people see us at occasions and put two and two together. There's no point in clarifying things. Admittedly, we were together at one point but since it wasn't working out, we went our ways. Today, we are great friends and nothing can change that, not even people's imaginations. But let me clarify once and for all, that I am single and raring to mingle."

Can anyone miss out the on screen jodi of Chaitanya Choudhury and Jennifer Winget of Sangam? And now this very jodi is going to take part in the new reality show on Star One, Zara Nachke Dikha, but not as partners but against each other. The show has a new concept where it is going to be Boys V/s Girls showcasing their power on the dance floor. Ask her about the reason for taking up this show and Jennifer says, ?When I started with Sangam I did not want to take up any new project as I wished to concentrate on one. But now after one and a half years things have settled down, so when this offer came I took it up. Moreover, I liked the concept of the show; I enjoy dancing even though I am not a very good dancer?.Chaitanya and Jennifer share a fabulous chemistry on screen. Now how do they feel as they are pitted ?Aamne Saamne?? ?I won?t be competing only against Chaitanya but against all the boys,? quips Jennifer. On the other hand, Chaitanya opines that Jennifer is a very good friend of his and he will help her here too. ?In Zara Nachke Dikha, we both will be seen face-to-face, but still we help each other with dance steps,? says Chaitanya. And how are they managing with both, the serial and dance show? ?After shooting almost 12 hours for Sangam, we move to practice for Zara Nachke Dikha. We practice for almost 2-3 hours a day,? echo both the actors.After exhibiting sizzling on screen chemistry in Sangam, the duo is all set to make a mark in the battle of sexes Zara Nachke Dikha starting 14th July on Star One!!
