See , to be fair, Abhimanyu never knew he had a son. It was not like he knew and refused to accept. So i won't consider him a failure or a failed father but yes, Abhinav always wanted Abhir's happiness and I agree with the rest you said

also he could not c how sad abhir was......he was just too proud in winning the custody...that he at that delicate junctire in abhir ki lfe...could not b a support to him..and left things to his mom...who actively was rushing to elimimate the existence of his parents!!! manyu should have been extra careful there.....

It's good they showed he still loves and misses his parents and unborn sibling.

And best part is dislike MG.

I personally don't care about surname but about how his character gonna be. (Hoping chindi naa banaye ise.)

And dkp can change the narrative anyday so don't have trust either. Abhir may suddenly start start disliking Ak-Ab too if they want. Though I again hope he doesn't.

I think in hindi it's sautela word for everyone but in English it's step-sibling if no common parents but half-sibling if they share a common parent.

For me, he was respectful, maintained boundaries, always let his wife lead, was considerate, always gave her the agency which was lacking in her first marriage.

There was nothing like a husband and wife they never had any physical relationship until the end, she never let him touch her.

You can say they were house mates if you want
