The character evolution is abberant and I hope you see why I said a few things.

Plus, I am totally not a fan, so yeah, I can come across as dismissive.

Apologies again.

What is awkward is first bringing in real world lense to an itv show where characters flip flops according to convience of the writer

And then Gaslighting me when I used the same lense.

Either you agree that it's an itv show - so we can discuss that yes present script is abysmal. Abhira will flip back when script demands . So really it's not that serious

Or you judge Abhira s character through modern day real world lense - through which Abhira is victim of severe bullying and is clearly going through worse form of mental heat.

You don't get to do both.

Absolutely.

Nobody has a choice to get bullied in certain circumstances. It can be a love relationship or a toxic work environment.

I have seen some relatives bullying my mamma. But she decided to call spade a spade and discard them

So, yeah, you can maybe- sometimes just discard half sisters and Abusive MILs if u have a husband that supports you.

Idk. I say wt I have experienced.

Again Humans are not supposed to be strong all the time.

A victim of bullying being convinced that they deserve the treatment is not a such a new thing.

But you clearly don't understand so there is no point to this conversation

I don't understand, I get it.

But why are u so overwhelmed man. I literally apologized and quoted my mother's example.

I am not talking against you.

I hope you understand.

Ok. I am sorry but as someone who has been bullied to keep hearing this "A person makes choice to not get bullied" is just so triggering.

Literally nobody"chooses to get bullied "

I am sorry. But being bullies was never my choice. Neither it was Abhira.

I can't take so much of victim shaming. So I am gonna go.

I didn't intend victim shaming. I'm just highlighting a contrast in approach. Her approach for Charu and for herself is quite opposite. I'm sorry if I have hurt ur sentiments anyway. Those who faced a particular situation can understand better we can only judge, assume or give our perspective regarding a situation.

Every character's trauma except Vidya mata's trauma has a reason. Bad parenting, verbal abuse, curses, gaslighting. But choices define people/characters. Right and wrong choices. Abhira not countering Vidya for cursing her and outcasting her for being infertile paved the way for more trauma her way. It was her choice. People mostly can't react but she couldn't even react infront of Armaan. She should've been supported the way most of the women (though not all) are supported in such circumstances by other women or the way her mother/nani were supported by their family and in-laws, but making a choice not to get bullied/cursed is made by a person on his own. For Abhira encouraging Charu was easy but taking stand for her own self was so difficult? Just because the makers are obsessed with biological child, that's why Abhira was dumbed down further, otherwise they would've made her standing up for herself.

Yeah exactly.

Abhira has a contradicting character.

Like she can deliver a speech on woman empowerment- not because she is getting money for it, but she means it by heart.

And even encourage people to stand up against their bullies. (Like Charu against her father)

But can still choose, to be a doormat herself the very next second, to a woman she knows for maybe idk, how many months exactly? And the woman doesn't really significantly contribute to her O2 requirements as well.

That's just convenient character moulding.

More then not standing up for herself, it's her seeking validation from the people who hate her existence is not understandable.

lol, I must say there is something special about yrkkh forum. I have been hovering around Durga and Udne Ki Asha forums because I currently like watching both, but literally hardly any discussions or banters go on there, just occasional post once in a while. And come to Yrkkh forum, no matter what track is going on, forum members intensely debate and dissect everything, including me who joins in occasionally but remains a silent reader most of the times 😀 I am not complaining, just wondering 😊

I agree! Though i love her , i also have the same issue with her. But i also understand why it's happening. I cannot even imagine being put in that situation and being bullied. For everything she has been out through, obviously her personality will change a little.

Yes, you are neutral and that's completely fine. Also if we love a character, doesn't mean we cannot point out flaws. I love Abhira but have twice called her out.
