Abhimanyu knew that he'll get away with this kind of proposal and he did. Aarohi and the Goenkas should have called him out for it but they didn't. Aarohi did say that she's not okay with this but she knows how to set things right and in the long run they both will be fine. It was a mature response because break up is not that big a disaster..it happens and people move on and find love again.

Abhimanyu's proposal of course was ridiculous and insensitive. Also, the way he used his statement that he'll always love Akshu was very problematic. He used it as an out of jail card where he thought he can romance his saali in the background and continue this sham of a wedding. As predicted, when questions were raised he simply said I already told Aarohi that I'll always love Akshu. Jija ji..that statement doesn't give you the right to do whatever you feel like.

Even on the day of the wedding his focus was on finding out why Akshu hid the truth..Kaun Aarohi sums it up. Jija ji is so self centered that he didn't even spare a thought for his bride on the day of their wedding..

Would abhimanyu be okay with the same kind of proposal? Wouldn't it hurt him more that he loves akshara but she will keep loving some other man despite being married to him? And what would he expect from such a marriage from akshara?

What was the thought behind abhimanyu getting married to Aarohi? Is it so that abhimanyu thinks himself as a trophy and him offering to marry a girl itself is a big deal for him because it seemed so from the episodes. It was like I am THE ABHIMANYU BIRLA and marrying me itself is a big deal for aarohi because he never offered anything to her - friendship, loyalty, support, responsibility

@bold, this is the reason my love towards Abhi started wavering. Then after everything, the way Abhi spoke with Arohi... I'm sorry... But I despise it, even knowing Arohi wasn't any sane in the drama. But damn... Still any girl doesn't deserve such treatment from the same man who was going to marry her... I really lost it when Abhi behaved selfish and didn't care for anyone or Arohi... He loved Akshu, fine. He wanted to marry her, fine. Then why to disrespect another girl who stood all decked up as a bride to marry him? He could have told her off in a respectful manner. Him not giving respect to Arohi or understanding the families dilemma is what made me rethink of Abhi's goodness...

If Abhimanyu knows Akshara loves Neil and Neil in return im sure he will unite them ...Not like Arohi who is hell bent on separating her sister and her lover ...

All I want to point out is that if the case was switched and Akshara loved Neil and Neil loved Akshara, Abhimanyu would not have stood in their way. There is a very limited number of people Abhimanyu actually cares about and those two are literally 2/3. he’d be heartbroken and very upset but he would also be the one trying to convince the families for them.

the reason he was so dtermined to get Akshara is because he knew in his heart that she loves him too. Like he said to Neil. He knows she loves him but he also knows she had given up. If the cases were switched and he knew that Neil and Akshara love each other as clearly as Arohi knew about Abhira’s love, he himself would have backed out.

that being said, proposing to Arohi was absolutely the biggest mistake he’s ever made but that definitely doesn’t mean Arohi is a victim or that I will feel bad for her. She agreed despite seeing their love first hand, she agreed even though his proposal literally included that he only loves Akshara and is marrying her for his mom. And she certainly didn’t love him for her to be acting like a victim. She was using him just as much as he was using her except it falls down to intentions.

She was being selfish in pursuing him for her career and image while he was doing whatever he thought would at least bring happiness to his mother.

See I made these same points a while back and was piled on by various folks... He said he was offering an arranged marriage. The only disclaimer he made was that he wasn't offering his love/emotional fidelity. Lots of people in India have arranged marriages right? And they do receive all these trappings of marriage that you mention - so it was very disingenous of Abhimanyu to assume Arohi and their families wouldn't expect theirs to include all the conventional things.

BTW, there is precedence in YRKKH for the kind of 'marriage' in name only that Abhimanyu was planning. In S2, Kartik kept Vedika totally at arms length despite telling her things like they were friends and he would come to love her. He also didn't let her into the room he shared with Naira (in fact if I remember he put a padlock on it so she couldn't go inside) and although they did share a room later he slept on the couch while she slept on the bed. He wouldn't even accept a cup of tea made by her! But he did let her sit in the passenger's seat of their car though🤣

I totally agree with you in principle. The problem is Abhimanyu asked a woman whom he's obviously never felt any sort of liking or warmth towards (see his coldly formal manner towards her during the resort trip) to marry him, just to burn her sister. I mean, even when he thought she saved his life, he could barely bring himself to look her in the face and speak two words to her, leave alone allow her on his precious bike. Now granted Arohi has a pretty darn off-putting personality but who the heck asked Abhimanyu to propose to her?? Pick some other nice girl in Udaipur with whom he could've had a congenial marriage...🤔

A girl who is a doctor that too a state topper and who belongs to a family like goenka's will never agree to marry a person like Abhimanyu who loves someone else...according to Birla's Arohi loves him thats why she was selected...and Abhimanyu agreed to it...

For Arohi love is winning she doesn't know the real meaning of love so she agreed to the proposal...

My impression was Manjari wanted him to marry some girl with a good job/career so she wouldn't end up bechaari like Manjari herself. There must be lots of girls like that in a big Indian city, even doctors.

In arranged marriages, it can't be that uncommon where the man or woman loves/loved someone else but are marrying for the sake of family? And wouldn't Abhimanyu be considered a catch - he's a successful, rich, handsome doctor from a good family. I would think lots of girls would want to marry him.

(of course there isn't much logic here because the writers wanted the whole Arohi engagement track but realistically the plot doesn't make sense to me...)

His father liked Arohi...and he got a chance to show Akshara that he was moving on but according to audience his character started moving down ...LOL
