She had the perfect opportunity to tell him about her hairs when they were alone in their room and just before that Preeti told her to tell Sameer about it ASAP but no instead of telling him about it she chose to jump on bed.

If she would've told him I don't think he would've got this much angry because for him also it was the biggest shock. If he had the slightest idea he would've defended her in front of all.

It was actually relatable because sometimes if you are right then also you can't say anything or defend.

If he would've tried then also it would've been more worse for her.

Correct, Sameer got the shock of his life when he saw her. He knew her as a plain and simple person, now suddenly he's confronted with this Naina with a head of curls. Everyone was in shock including her Chacha and Chachi.
She seems to have had many opportunities to tell him the truth.
1. The first being when he asked her why she had not kept her hair open. This was the most perfect opportunity to come clean. He would then have had ample time to process and prepare for the revelation. He seem to have knowledge of what perming does in the way he said, "Yeh permanent perming hair kam seh kam teen maheyne lagega."
2. She also seems to have had time to talk to Munna about the mark on Sameer's head, then surely she hd time to talk to Sameer.
3. During the ride from her maike to her new home they must have been alone in the car. What did they talk about then or did she cry the whole time?
4. When she was being angry with him for sleeping late, he tried to talk to her. Instead of using the opportunity she chose to be angry at being left alone in her own home.

In her dream Naina blames Sameer for her hair mistake. So Naina herself does not seem to accept that the experiment was her own idea. Now she's upset because Sameer got angry at her! Wah!

Coming to the question, Looks matter to Sameer. His own looks matter to him very much. He does not like to see flaws in his own looks. Equally much as he has accepted that Naina is no match to his own beauty he will never want to see any more flaws in her looks.

All men regardless of their own looks want their women to look good beside them more so on their wedding day. Sameer is no different.

I dont think the taunts are affecting him, he was never affected by them, unless it came from his mother. He feels ditched & hence he's upset/ angry. & all he did was act in his anger. But that's what his nature has been always. That's one aspect of him Naina has not been able to curb down. He would get angry on something & react without looking what he's talking & to whom.

I agree with you he's upset that she did not fulfil his dreams. He dreams of her looking beautiful in sarees with open hair flowing as he had directed her at Mt Abu to keep her hair. He's angry that she did not fulfil his dreams.
He remembers all the efforts he has gone to to fulfil her every dream. He feels hopelessly let down that she could not do a simple thing like keep her own hair open for him. On top of that she lied about it.

I too would get angry if you lie to me.

Vishakha asked Naina if she knew Sameer's anger in their first meeting. Naina said he gets angry about right things only. Now he is angry about her not doing as he had asked her to. Is this a right thing? Now he is angry because she lied to him. Is this a right thing?

With due respect to both of your POV but I don't agree with you.

By saying this you are actually degrading his love for her.

He is the same guy who took Stand for her in MT. Abu,in front of O Bai and her would be Mother in Law when she got engaged to BKC despite having no right on her that time.

Just to get married to her he fought with everyone including his own family.

Just to fulfil her one wish to see him on Ghodi he played match with rivals.

He asked her one thing to keep her hairs open on their wedding day and on top of that she lied to him about it and kept him in dark.

For me she had the opportunity to tell him when they were alone in their room and she didn't tell him so it's her fault in a way because she did talk to Preeti just before that and Preeti told her to come clean regarding hairs to Sameer.

Sometimes delay leads to disaster and same thing happened with her and he got to know about it in worst possible way.

Why only blame Sameer? Even Bela also scolded her in front of all because she lied to them about hair fiasco. As a mother it's her responsibility also to defend her then why only blame Sameer? Just because he is husband. Anand also kept quiet because he and Bela also were unaware of the situation like Sameer.

I am definitely not justifying the taunts she got but her hair fiasco definitely came as shock for everyone including Sameer.

He always defended her no matter what the situation or he is angry at her.

If we go by precap see he forgot his anger and tried to help her so she will not have to face any more taunts that means his love for her overpowered his anger as usual.

Just because he is angry and didn't say anything to those relatives that didn't mean that he will never support her in future or in any difficult situations.

Sorry but from your response I see that

1. Sameer can hide his mark from her but Naina cant hide her hair, being scared of his reaction when he has always proved how senselessly he acts in anger

2. If wife has done a mistake then she deserves public humiliation on her looks and husband silence is justified because she is not looking up to his expectations

EVEN IF ITS WIFE'S MISTAKE ... ITS HUSBAND'S DUTY TO PROTECT HER SELF RESPECT IN PUBLIC "NO MATTER WHAT"

He can fight with her shout at her... but has to protect her...
there is no condition or exception on this mere Support every married woman deserves

Chacha Chachi were humiliated by Sameer's relatives because he kept quiet...

No woman deserves this even if she got permanent damage in her looks...

I really like this post, myprimechicago. I am not standalone Sameer or Naina or Samaina fan, I am the fan of the show and I see faults with each character as see fit. I this case, I agree to everything said above.

I have felt that CVs have steered away from Sameer's basic personality. In the past Sameer has supported Naina, even when I as a viewer has thought that she was wrong. I understand that Naina made a bad decision by perming her hair on the wedding day and by withholding the truth for too long. However, it does not translate that she is made a laughing stock in front of everyone and her new husband stands there fuming at her instead of supporting her, knowing very well that Naina is not much liked. He should have supported her at least in front of them. He could have yelled at her later on.

Hi

With some of your points I agree that no woman deserves humiliation because of her looks and nobody has right to do that.

I think it's established in show that for Sameer Naina is the most beautiful girl inside out but come on he is also a human being who does mistakes rectifies them when he realises and that's what we admire in him.

I don't think he was angry because of her hair he was angry because she lied to him and because of that she has to listen those taunts.

See he knows that no one is actually happy with their wedding and now they got one more reason to taunt her.

Anand and Bela got humiliated because Naina didn't tell them so in a way she is also responsible for it.

I would've love if she herself answered to all the way she did during wedding time by answering Mama.

We very well know that Naina can do that she do have guts to do that.

Here she somewhere feeling guilty for hiding about her hairs from Sameer and from Anand and Bela.

See I will tell you my personal experience with these kind of relatives and my husbands response to it.

Mine is arranged marriage and my parents clearly told my In Laws that see we raised our daughter with so much love and care. She don't know cooking and she didn't even know how to wear saree and we never forced her to do anything so now it's your wish but anyways we got married because of my husband.

My In Laws never taunted me but my husbands other relatives did that and he told me one thing see I can protect you by answering them but it's about your self respect and you have to learn to fight your own battle. See now same relatives praise me like anything. When I look back to those days I used to get angry on my husband but I will be forever thankful to him because of him I learn to fight my own battle and most importantly for my self respect and for my parents. Now when I remember those days it brings smile on my face because it made me stronger.

Now no one can point fingers at me for being irresponsible or my parents and their upbringing.

If you ask me woman don't need any man to fight for herself and any daughter don't need her husband to defend her parents she is very much capable to do that on her own.

Naina is very much capable to do that because she is much more stronger than Sameer.

If my in-laws question or find fault in my looks I have no words to defend myself or prove my beauty

But the guy chose me with my looks has to defend me and my self respect

There is a huge different b/w arranged marriage and samaina 5 years old relationship converting to love marriage

In arranged marriage in-laws support you Coz they chose you... they protect you from relatives
In love marriage it's hubby who has to support you and no one else...
Sameer was not helpless but chose to keep quiet

Truptishree, I do understand what you are saying and I do agree that one has to learn to fight one's own battle. However, you had an arranged marriage and your in-laws supported you. In this case, Naina stands alone with very little support. They got married without much approval and now if Sameer does not stand for her, who else will? I am assuming later on Naina will learn to fight for herself but at this point I personally think it is too early.

Believe me I don't like this stage of Naina where Sameer is doing everything and anything for her. That kind of support actually cripples you. What actually starts as a gesture of love becomes habit of expecting your partner to fix everything for you thereby hindering the personal growth. Hopefully that side of Naina will change soon.

However since they are just newlyweds and since they married under such non-optimal circumstance, I do believe Sameer should have supported her and saved her from public humiliation, at least at this stage of marriage.

Shilpa I agree with you that Sameer having become Naina's saviour has made her very dependent on him. This was seen in her crying during the saree tying fiasco and saying, "Sameer ab toh utt jao." as if he was going to help her to tie the saree. She could not even think of a solution, like asking Poonam or Vishakha or any other woman, on her own. Whether this will change any time soon will have to be seen.
Yes she will require Sameer's support particularly in public when she faces difficulties and he ought to have supported her even if it was just by remaining by her side during this hair revelation episode. His walking away angrily also gave the relatives even more reason to taunt some more.

I do however understand, but not condone, his actions. He's angry that she has not fulfilled his dream. More than the hair thing, it is that he has been dreaming of her wearing beautiful sarees with her hair open and flowing whilst she serves him. This dream has been shattered. This is the reason for his anger. He has done many things to realise Naina's dreams and gone to some extreme lengths to make her happy. He is however expecting to be rewarded for this either through the kiss or the fulfilment of his dreams. Now the curls have shattered this. This is the cause of his anger and we know that Sameer's greatest enemy is his anger. At least the older Sameer realised that he was wrong as his voice over says that he should have supported her.

Finally Bela saying what happened to her hair since she came to her sasuraal was casting an aspersion on the sasuraal. They therefore reacted against having the blame placed on them. Yes Mami could and should have responded in a much more mature way, but as usual she used the opportunity to spit venom. The relationship between the Agarwals and Maheshwaris will not get better unless the elders behave like elders, sit down talk respectfully to each other and agree to a cessation of hostilities.
