Different regions have different traditions and superstitions.

Down South especially in orthodox families kitchen is very sacred and whoever is cooking never tastes the food so there is no question of "kadhai chatna". We are brought up like that - we never eat out of the vessel or kadhai in which food is cooked and served.

The only thing we know is eating raw rice as a youngster may cause rain in his/her wedding. Usually back then it was the girls because boys rarely helped in the kitchen 😊

And yes, black color is never gifted and also not worn in any special occasion involving pujas/rituals.

So true... Never outta the vessel and no jhoota was prime in my house. Black is not gifted/worn in almost all caste traditions i think. Dunno how sameer ended up wearing it. Maybe reception..not sure.😊
