Ok Bhai, I always think of Ruhi as being 7 as she was 6 months when Shagun left 6 years ago at the start of the serial, it's been more than a year so I make her 7...
In UK, kids do have access to these types of gadgets my kids do and have done since last 2 years when my youngest was 6.5-7...but I suppose maybe not in India...
Also needed some way for Shravu and Ruhi to have face to face convo and maybe Raman would have given Ruhi the one he gave Ishita earlier so they could keep in touch...and Shravu is using his dad's laptop perhaps...

Call it creative liberty...think we can have some of that...CVs do it all the time...and there bloopers are even more illogical and stupid?!
