For Raman-Ishita:
"Sometimes, reaching out and taking someone's hand is the beginning of a journey.
At other times, it is allowing another to take yours."
Vera Nazarian, The Perpetual Calendar of Inspiration
The Ishra scene today took me back to the episode where Raman asks Ishita for her hand- asking her to stand by him in all the challenges of life. Today again he asked for her hand, albeit to assure himself that she is there, like always, by his side. How quickly she understood that her husband was talking to her about his own problem in a round-about way. Loved the confidence she has in him- Comapany apse hai, aap company se nahi. Words so true for a self-made man like Raman. He has done it once, he can do it again. it will be tough- but when you have the right partner and a strong backbone (read-family), it is posible. A very normal conversation between a husband and wife with no out-of-place feel about it. Something that I wanted to see ever since Raman's office problems started- Puttar-Biwi staying strong and together overcoming all of their problems. I look forward to see how this track unfolds.
The Rinky-Ishita scene: It was very very realistic. I am not joking when I say that I have had a very similar conversation with my aunt some time back (though it was a hypothetical one). In a nutshell, she said to me- "When you have the right partner supporting you, you can achieve anything. If he is not right- just refuse- No one is forcing you". Though I do not like Toshi being so rushed about it- I found nothing wrong about how Ishita handled the whole situation- where her MIL insisted that she be the one to talk to Rinky. She just convinced in a very nice way to meet the guy- not marry the guy; and therein lies the difference.
For Romi and Adi:
"My dear young cousin, if there's one thing I've learned over the eons, it's that you can't give up on your family, no matter how tempting they make it."
"Indifference and neglect often do much more damage than outright dislike."
Once again- Felt bad for the kid. Why do I have feeling that he is again going to cover up for his mom? Tell Ishita that he lost the money Raman gave or something when he talks to her about the fees (Speculation, I know, but""). Romi- Karma is really a bitch. He is paying for his past misdeeds. But nothing has affected him more than the neglect and indifference from his family. He is in pain, and I am hoping that this leads to his redemption- A Final true one.
I think everyone here has echoed this sentiment innumerable times- What sort of a mother is Shagun? Who prefers to pay for designer saris rather than your son's fees? Hell, who am I expecting from- She gave Adi's fees money to Param at one point to pay Bhalla house rent. Pathetic really- Her friends are just like her- Brainless with too much money. I am hoping that Adi tells Shagun about Raman' financial situation- Tab aayega mazza. I can bear her for 2-3 mins on my screen- not when she is hogging 80% of the epi.
