OS/SS: Is it just 'Jealousy'? (Part 7 posted) - Page 7

Raman was fuming when he reached his office. When people looked at him they knew today was really not a good day to mess up. Romi decided to make himself scarce around his brother and concentrate only on his work. At least he only has to be in the vicinity of his brother only until lunch time. After that he has to go help his Bhabi for the wedding.

Raman couldn't fathom what went over him to say all those things to Ishita. How could he just say all that? He knew it was her presence and persistence that did that. But it was just not done. What if she just misunderstands him now?

On the other side Ishita was pretty confused about what Raman had said and asked her. Is he gone mad? From where to where did he reach? All I wanted to tell him was that Mani is just my friend and there is nothing to be jealous about him. But seriously. What is Raman even thinking? Oh right, he isn't thinking? His mind is just blocked by his jealousy. You know what? I will call him right now and tell him what I had intended to tell him before he distracted me with his jabs and taunts. Stupid!

After Ishita's phone call Raman was even more upset. Doesn't that woman understand anything at all? I clearly told her what I think about Mani and still she is all praises for that man. What am I going to do? I will not be able to take this any longer. That Madrasan needs to be taught a lesson in relationships 101. Idiot! Even a blind man can see that Mani making googly eyes at her, but she... she wants to still remain oblivious and continue being best buddies. I am not asking her to break the friendship. Is it too much to accept her to tone it down? But no, madam will get offended if I say this and think I am the male chauvinist pig. No Raman. You don't want her to think of you as the villain. You want her to realize how what she is doing is affecting you without spelling it out with your own mouth. But how? Think Raman, think. ... Of course. This might just work. Lets show that Jhansi ki Rani a mirror.

Right after this eureka moment Raman called Ishita to inform her that he would be late at night and will have his dinner outside. Having done that after work he waited in his office for the appropriate time to go home and had his favourite take out pasta for dinner. He left for the society just after 12 a.m.

Ishita had a very hectic day. So much to do and so little time. So when Raman called to inform about the change in his plans she was unfazed. But now, sitting in the bedroom with the clock striking 12 she was a little stressed. What is taking him so long tonight? Clients dinners don't take this long. Half an hour later when Raman opened the door to their apartment with his key, Ishita was ready with a barrage of questions to bombard him with.

"Raman..."

"You're still awake? I told you I'd be late."

"I know. I was not feeling sleepy."

"Oh..."

"Why are you so late? How was your dinner? Did you have any problems? You didn't drink too much did you?"

"Relax Jhansi ki Rani. I was out with my friend. For dinner. You know, long lost friend. Lots of catching up to do."

"Raman this is not a joke."

"Who said I'm joking? Are you the only one in this world who has friends?"

"No, but you didn't tell me anything about this." Ishita didn't like not knowing things about Raman.

"Sorry yaar. Sudden plan. Kiran called and I couldn't say no. Besides, it was fun. We did have quite a few drinks though... And before you ask, I didn't drive. I had taken the driver. So no worries. Sigh... I'm tired. Long day. But I did enjoy dinner tonight. You should sleep too. Otherwise you will look really horrible with those nasty bags under your eyes. Good night."

Smiling, Raman went to his room to change and then sleep. Phase 1 of his plan was complete. Phase 2 would start tomorrow.

Ishita kept thinking about who this friend of Raman was who kept him such good company. Raman barely go into such a good mood. Whoever he was, must be really good to tolerate Ravan kumar. Anyways, time to sleep.
