@bold - Aaminah if he really loves his wife how and why is he a molester if he had wanted his fill of other women and for that resorted to escorts I would have seen the sense in it cos for a man love and lust are not the same thing but raping someone from his wife' family - what was he thinking... the thing is this dual nature can be very interesting to notice but it shouldn't be half baked

@red - 😆 even Amma said something similar when he came home LOL something sensible uttered by the woman before she went crazy

The recipe of the broth was a disaster since the beginning. 😆 i didnt like d fact that Ishita let Parmeet come inside Bhalla household 😆 although i know thats the best she thought of in that situation still she had no plan chalked out of how to expose his true colors in front of Simmi 😆

Hopefully cvs will realize their mistakes n wud turn the plot in some logical direction n not forced comedy or OTT melodrama. 😕

Still there r certain bits n pieces there which r enjoyable 😉
1. Ishra after shower romance
2. Ishra scene near window when Parmeet comes home
3. Ruhi & Ishra scenes
4. Shagun hesitating in taking Ramans money, that woman is no wimp and shall not turn at the sound of nickel as Suraj put
5. Shagun clinging on Ashok n deciding that she will make him pay for Adi
6. Mi-mi scene with every bite of cookie share ur darkest secret. She wanted him to blurt out his bitter memories of past and fill his life with sweetness. 😊
7. Raman putting up Ishitas nameplate in front of his house 👏 How many men wud do that ? heck if my husband tries to do that he will be yelled at in his own house by my inlaws no matter how much they love me or not 😆

Aani, first of all, your post made me come out of my guests in home become a good bahu 😛 exile.

Secondly, to understand this situation better, I for once will like to be in shoes of the CV's and think from their POV.

Facts from CV's POV:

1. The serial started with a mature plot line and has made its presence felt across the globe due to its fresh approach.
2. The TRP's are sky high considering the time slot.
3. The cute banter between the protagonists gave the highest ever TRPs.

Targets from CV's POV:

1. Maintain the TRP.
2. Come out with a better TRP each and every week.
3. Keep the viewer interest quotient maintained for as long as possible.
4. Come up with more tracks before the ongoing ones reach their end.

Analysis from CV's POV:

I am getting excellent TRPs. I am a CV and I know that the mind of an average audience of the show wants the protagonists to consummate their marriage and it is the final step of acceptance. It is the perfect ending "And they happily lived ever after" to a "Once upon a time there was a handsome prince and a beautiful prince". Come on, this is what the audience want. So, how do I keep them hooked? If I show them the happy ending, tada, they will immediately start looking for the remote of their idiot box. Help. Solution. Eureka.

Bingo. I will give my viewers a million hints of physical intimacy, put my protagonists in so many awkward situations time and again and yet end them abruptly without any of them even touching or kissing each other ... this way, my viewers will be glued to this series.

My two pence on this thought: --> As you have already mentioned in LU, the rest is left to viewers imagination, and I do not need to remind anyone that apparently it is our imagination or yearning for it which brings us together on this platform and speak out, write fictions about characters, fantasize, do gutterpanti, so and so forth.

Secondly, yet again from a CV's POV, I am no fool. I am the creative. I know very well that there is a limit to where I can procrastinate the confession scene. And, am well aware, that like all serials, after confession, I will HAVE to show MU to keep the viewers hooked, because they will be bored with sugary sweetness in a while and lets face it, Indian audience will not accept the protagonists with a pinch of salt. Once they sleep together, they cannot be at loggerheads with each other anymore. They will have to be romantic.

So, I better be ready for all the sub-plots. So, I start multi-tracks immediately.

Now, my POV on Ishra and Sub-Plots
------------------------------------------------------------------

Against the popular wave, I am fine with the movement of sub-plots and my only problem is Ishra plot sluggishness. They are definitely putting the wrong foot forward in Ishra relationship progress. And that too, my problem in not the pace of their realization, its the slow pace. I fully understand the downside of living in a joint family and dealing with hazaar tensions at one go, it definitely affects the ME time or for them the US time.

The problem definitely is not the pace. The problem is the treatment. I refuse to believe that there is no physical attraction whatsoever between the protagonists now. They should be more aware of each other now, if not awkward, at least some tinkling of some progress, but there is a definite disconnect. One day, Raman is affected by the Button pop scene and they are awkward, next day they are normal, then they are put in an extremely intimate situation in the shower, and the next day, they are back to their banter of Baingan vs Haldi ka Dabba.
Believe me, even my mind tried to argue that both of them come with a baggage and have purposefilly shied away from intimacy of any kind and that is why they are not aware of it, yet, my grey cells immediately counter question, till when? They cannot just jump on the bed and do it ... they have to be more aware of each other.
The shower scene and its after effects have been analyzed to death, so not going there, the missing piece of puzzle for me it he follow up days. I wanted to see an awkward Ishra exchange. Something on the lines of both of them trying hard to bring the normalcy and yet again landing on the same platform. An example could be the same baingan and haldi scene where a small touch of hand, may be Raman placing his hand on Ishita's shoulder brings the memory and they get awkward for a while ... it does not need to be much, it does not need to be more, it does not need to be forced ... all we need is to maintain pace and continuity. Some followup, dot discontinuity.

Anyway, let us now move on to the sub-plots. To be frank, I am fine with all the tracks:

1. Amma: Staring with the biggest point. Amma who is irking everyone. My mind has long ago accepted that when Neena ji was given the narration of the character, the main points will be. She is the mother of the protagonist who is eccentric, over the top, core South Indian woman.
Hats off to her to pull it off nicely, I think, her eccentric ways to bring down Param have ended up in Ishra being together, and it the plot of CV's (refer my earlier section) to tallofy the confession.

2. Param - Simmy track.

Param is one of my favourite characters of the show. And contrary to the popular belief, I loved the part on Saturday and yesterday. He is someone who is actually real. Someone who is very much present in the society.
While he is conniving and deceitful to be the least, yet he is a man who loves his wife and his child, a real character. He has a loose character, yet when it comes to his own family, he is different. He DID NOT, i repeat DID NOT, take the money from Ashok and though am sure he will try some other evil way to bring the money, he still respected his wife's words. To me, it is something different, something acceptable and something agreeable. We live in a grey world. Param is a true grey character.

I will now refer to one of my replies to Ruby's (REfWine1) post earlier. She had urged me to make it a new post but I was a lazy ass to do it ..

Quoting myself,
I know the forum is going mad over Simmi's behavior and while it makes me mad as well, a part of me silently goes out for the woman in her. She is the classic portrayal of an average woman in the Indian society. Reminds me of my mother in law's words, "Aadmi hi sab kuch hai aur ek aurat ki pehchaan uske aadmi se hai.". While it has been a matter of eternal debate between both of us ... I have long ago resigned to the fact that it is impossible to change her outlook at her age ... sadly, it is the true face of the society.

So, for someone like Simmi, who was supposed to believe that a woman is supposed to marry and raise a family as a good homemaker from the time she opened up her eyes is bound to react in this manner. For her, being associated with a man's name is her license of security, her shield, her dignity. Taking this from her will mean is equivalent to stripping her in public, shame for her and of course, her daughter. Therefore, the woman in her is desperately trying to hold on the last straw so that she can save herself from this drowning relationship.

She conveniently blames Ishita because she is the exact anti-thesis of Simmi. A working, educated, no-nonsense woman, who is balancing her personal and professional life amazingly and even Simmi has begrudgingly accepted (Refer to the sections where she continuously taunts Raman that he listens to her Beewi or his life is becoming better day by day)that she has provided the much needed equilibrium in her brother's mundane life. And this same woman did not hesitate to bring the real face of Param in front of the family. There may be hundreds of Sarika who may have been molested by Param, but Ishita will always hit home ... because, yet again, we are hurt by people whom we love ... (Simmi though initially skeptical of this marriage, had been supportive of the relationship between Raman and Ishita in her sort of way)

End of Quote

So, in my view, Simmi and Param are playing their character to the tee and am fine with it. They are doing what they are supposed to do. It is the protagonists who are playing dumb.

Romi Sarika: track is Romi and Sarika. Yet again, am fine with it. In my POV, this is what is going to happen. Romi, who is no mood to commit, has the first inkling of love and is trying in his funny way to make his presence in Sarika's life. However, later on, he has many a challenges to face,

1. Can someone who has not found the ground for himself promise the same to her?
2. Parmeet and Sarika angle. He has to take a stand on this front.
3. Is he ready to settle down?
4. He also has a history which Sarika is not aware of. When it comes back to haunt him, how does it affect them?

All these issues will be taken care, right now, it is just the preamble and the comic relief in the show and honestly, am not complaining.

4. Finally, the biggest one: The biggest sub-plot .. on second thoughts, I do not know if it is a sub-plot at all. It involves so many people.

Mihika-Mihir-Shagun-PP ... in turn affects Ishita-Raman-Ruhi-Adi in turn affects Bhalla house in turn affects Iyer house. So each and everyone is affected by this angle.

In my POV, they have purposefully, stalled marriage of MiMi to concentrate on Ishra confession, as there is no way they will confess to each other, while their world is turned upside down once Mihir-Shagun relationship is out or Ashok throws away Shagun from his life.

So, they bring in Param, dangle between a conniving and redeeming Param and play safe with confession.

And for me, it is ok ... Param being my favorite, am not complaining, It is only the much needed progress in their relationship which irks me a bit.

But, still am ok ... as of now.

Hats off for that detailed post! You have put everything that has been on my mind in a sensible way. I only have one thing to add. The entire problem arises with the fact that the writers are trying to make the show as realistic as possible in fiction. In real life, I think, love develops when you have been with them day and night. The familiarity and friendship blooms in to love. Here, we don't have time to show that gradual progress. Considering the situations Ishita and Raman have been, they will settle in to a comfortable companionship for years before falling in love which the CVs cannot show as the actors may not be willing to play older characters. They are running out of ideas fast and though there are many sensible options, the writers cannot ignore the audience, like you said. So, I am fine with what is going on and I don't even mind Poornima Prakash not being seen. This, in my view, is the realistic touch. You do not solve mysteries immediately. Having parallel tracks also reinforces that. There are so many things happening to you at the same time. You have no idea what is going to hit you when.
I probably sound like a hard core fan of the show and highly optimistic. May be, I am. I have seen many shows go down the drain. I don't want to see that happen here.

@btalwar wow I loved ur detailed analysis on pg 3. Initially i was bored of looking at the length of it tbh. 😆 but it finished in no time n i have no regrets in reading it.

I completely agree with u here, even I was expecting some awkwardness after that Shower scene or some progression in their relationship. But baingan haldi bit showed they r back to square one.

I for one believe that consummation is not n end game. Not that i want it asap but cvs r delusional in thinking so. They still can show Ishra having MUs after the consummation but they can also show Ishra getting intimate with equal amounts of romance after consummation. They have marketed YHM As unique so y go on that traditional path of Romance stops after sharing bed? Babies r born out of first sexual encounter? Y cant they show Ishra trying for a baby like normal urban couples do these days? Obviously they can also deal with Ishitas condition n medical treatments can be shown too.

There r many plots which can be dealt with in regards to Ishra if cvs want to which I guess they have kept on backburner n which is d reason ppl r not enjoying it. 😆

Great post Aani,
Its frustrating to see so little IshRa..Its like one step forward and 100 back!!!
Nok jhonks are great but at the appropriate time.and within limits. The current situation is both IshRa have realized and accepted they are married and there is awareness of each other..they should show introspection of both Ishu and Raman and their vulnerability .. denial because they are so scared to fall in love agaiin .. Definitely want to see how their attraction and care towards each other is growing and the awkwardness they feel because of it !!
Parmeet track i had high hopes that he won't change .. he is great as an evil character and portrays it well..CVs dealth well with the issue initially but have slacked with Parmeet coming back to the house! Instead of Amma plotting with her ridiculous schemes it should be IshRa setting out to trap him and exposing him.
I wanted more IshRa & Ruhi scenes especially after the newspaper and Ruhi insecurity scenes last week..also with it being Adi who told Ruhi of the news paper article and basically telling his own sister that Raman didn't love her I was expecting Raman to reprimand Adi...
This focus on Ashokwa and Surajwa and Shagun is frustrating...
CVs can also build up Romi and Sarika-jee's love story a lot better.
What about Ashokwa trying to get Mihika...I had really hoped he would continue his lecherous ways with it leading to Mihika filing a sexual harrassment case...
YHM is unique and its highly dissappointing as well as frustrating to see CVs letting it slip ...I hope they buckle up ASAP!!
Nina
p.s. Seriously, where the hell is Rinki..am truly missing her!

Is it just me or has the story really not moved in any direction. There are so many tracks that have been opened but I do not see where any of them are really heading.
Like many here, I completely detested the fact that Ishita went behind Raman and Bhalla's to bring Param into the household. However good her intentions were where Simmi was concerned, the whole scenario was handled very poorly. I decided to let that go and thought, well, we just might get some really good scenes and plotting and planning to show Simmi her husband's true colors but no, it has turned into Ishita throwing challenges at Param, Raman coming up with weird ideas (how is Param paying rent with his own money or not supposed to show Simmi the perverted side of him???), and not to forget Mrs.Iyer, who acts like a five year old trying to make life miserable for Param. (Not that I am unhappy with the outcomes of her ideas, but still, it seems extremely forced and unreal).

As far as Raman and Ishita's relationship is concerned, it's high time they start writing scenes beyond one-liners and taunts and the humor. It's starting to get boring. They have shown glimpses of both of them being attracted to one another - it's time to move forward from there and show them dealing with it rather than hiding using humor - it's fun to a certain extent but not anymore.

As far as side tracks go, we have seen Romi and Sarika going "ji, ji" for the past one month (or is it two... or three), I don't even know why Suraj is in the picture - I mean Ashok was planning on making life miserable for Shagun anyways. Mihir-Mihika wedding - has been postponed, Mihir's past isn't really a suspense as it was supposed to be. No one knows what happened to the file Simmi stole for Param,Rinki has gone completely missing and no one in the Bhalla household seems the least bit bothered. Looks like Bala is still going around giving tuitions - but is he still tutoring Adi???? Vandu's pregnancy - I wonder what the purpose of that is? Adi's custody review has clearly been put on hold - maybe the judge has gone on vacation. ---------- and it's possible I might have missed other side tracks that were shown.

It's time to move the story forward and maintain continuity which seems to be lacking for a while now (in my opinion, since the accident track ended)

And yeah, I want the old Param back which we got a glimpse of today when Shagun left to get money for him.
