Boring song selections, this show should be rated in 40+ years category only for natives of Hindi language, i haven't heard many of these songs in my life and i am neither able to connect nor judge them. Its not only the contestants, songs also needs to have Xfactor.

Thats why TRP ratings for this show aren't increasing from ~1.2, where as ratings for Indian Idol are around 2.5 by this time.

I think it's sad that people don't know these songs. These are some of the classics. I'm in my 20s, and a singer, and my aspiration is to sing such songs. There's no great "X Factor" in singing songs which are recent - there's no comparison in judging a "Oh Sajna Barkha Bahar Aayi" versus some modern song like the "Jalebi Bai"s and "Sheila"s of the world.

As a singer, I'm proud of the fact that the X factor people select songs which are genuinely worth singing and make you feel inspired to sing them as well. X Factor is not gimmicky like Indian Idol, neither are the judges more interested in themselves and their own antics more than the songs and the music. Maybe that's why the TRPs for X Factor are low - speaks volumes about the quality of music appreciation in a country that has more than 20 kinds of music.

I'm sorry if you find this offensive or overly critical but I genuinely feel very strongly about this.

It is not sad that there are people who do not know the songs sung on this show. What is sad is that these people are granted access to watch this show - so they can come online on a forum and anonymously insult the show. It is even more pathetic if they are in anyway related to India. Oh well, India is not comprised of only intelligent people.

I think the song selection are mostly good, its the judging, votes and wrong contestants that are being eliminated.
