So as Parth and Vibha practice for the one last time, Parth looks at Vibha closely and as she falls in his arms after the twirl for the final time, she closes her eyes, and Parth leans in close to her beautiful face, and she slowly closes her eyes due to her proximity to him.He slides his finger across her forehead down to her cheek, she nervously bites her lips and starts to breathe heavily, not loosening her grip on him. He slowly holds her and pulls her upright while she keeps holding on to his shoulder and neck nervously. He leans in closer and is about to kiss her for the very first time, but something stops him. He realizes he hasn't even confessed his love to her yet. All those moments he thought he couldn't live without her, all those moments he thought time just wouldn't pass by without seeing her, all those moments that were made special only because of her presence, the amalgamation of those immensely valuable memories only meant one inevitable truth that he hadn't told her yet. He quickly thinks whether now is the right time to tell her how he really feels about her, while she waits with her eyes closed in anticipation of a kiss from the person she immensely adores.
She waits and then slowly opens her eyes to see Parth still holding onto her but looking down towards the floor, lost in his own thoughts as opposed to her. She doesn't know whether she should be offended that she braced herself for the first kiss with him and he so cruelly left her hanging mid way, or she should be concerned and ask him what is really going on in his complex mind. She chooses the latter.
Vibha - (gently placing her palm on his face) Parth (moves her hand so that his face looks at her and not at the floor down below)...
Parth - Vibha... Maam...
Vibha - Kya hua Parth?
Parth - Maam woh...
He wonders how he can possibly explain to her that he was in love with her. He thinks he needs to be sure that she wants to hear that he is in love with her and not make a fool of himself for making her believe that he so naively experienced this feeling without realizing the total consequences of its meaning. But she has always been so compassionate, so understanding, so caring, and completely beyond the superficial side of things. She surely would understand his sentiments as his intentions are pure. But something stops him from saying those three words. Perhaps the scene, perhaps the setting, perhaps the absence of a perfect romantic setting. After all, he is experiencing this for the first time. Confusion and chaos galore, he decides to not say anything, looking partially lost in thoughts and partially in her.
Vibha - Parth, kya hua?
Parth - Kuch nahi, woh, main jata hu...
He gently lets go of her, while she stands there, looking confused as to what took over him.
Parth is still left feeling confused the next day. He doesn't know how to find the right way or the right moment to tell her that he loves her. He knows that he has an inherent problem - he can never tell people what he really feels. But it's just not the same with her, he's shared so many things with her, so many personal things, as has she with him. He remembers the time they were locked up the bathroom and she said all about her life and her family. If that wasn't a personal connection, then what was? His mind continues the tumultuous clamour of unending, unanswerable thoughts.
Vibha also has Parth on her mind, he had left to suddenly last night, and that too after such a wonderful time dancing together, in perfect union, matching each move of hers, being there to hold her each time she twirled and fell in his arms. She has to help with the booking of the stage, lights, everything required to prepare for the annual day event. She tries to get on with the swing of things as Kamini taunts her to pay attention every step of the way. She wants to just see Parth, just once, to ask him what is really on his mind.
She sees him boxing in the gymnasium and is about to enter, but then spots Karthik sir guiding him, so she leaves, thinking to find another moment where there is just Parth, and her! She keeps waiting for the entire day to see him and talk to him, but only disappointment and sadness comes her way, as either she gets busy with a chore, or he is engrossed in an activity. It is soon dinner time and she sees him, but he doesn't look at her. This upsets and puzzles her even more and arouses the need to talk to him all the more. She goes on looking for him after the dinner is over and sees the students gathered in the room listening to the song and Utkarsh and Siyali showing basic dance steps for a couple's dance. They ask everyone for their opinions and while most students are positive and energetic for the dance routine, Parth looks down and seems lost in thoughts. Vibha looks on with a sad face, as yet again she is unable to talk to him.
The next day, she happens to enter the dance room when the students are practicing. She sees Parth dancing with one of the girls and can't help but feel a bit jealous. And they do the twirl and the girl falls into Parth's arms, and he struggles to hold her and while he does manage to get a good grip on her waist and hands, she looks at him with dreamy eyes, and he looks uncomfortable. He wonders why this dance seems like such an arduous task today when it seemed like a breeze when Vibha was with him and they danced away so many times. He tries to close his eyes and imagine Vibha and as he slowly opens his eyes, he sees that its actually her in his arms. He smiles at her and gently lifts her, and twirls with her in his arms. Vibha sees this and says 'Paa...' and raises her hand, almost as if to stop him, but stops herself. He hand is left raised in the air for a few seconds and then she looks sad as she slowly puts it down and thinks what to do as people start clapping at Parth. Parth snaps out of his daze and realizes he's actually not holding his Vibha maam. He hurriedly puts the girl down and then as he looks up, he sees Vibha near the entrance, looking right at him, with sad eyes. He tries to say something, but realizes everyone is around him. Vibha leaves and strange enough, this angers him instead of making him sad.
He is about walk out of the dance room, when his partner holds his arm and stops him. He looks at her with angry eyes and she quickly lets go of him. He leaves and goes to look for Vibha. He goes to the staff room, but she isn't there. He goes to the library, she isn't there either. Where could she be? He checks all the classes one by one and doesn't find her. And then he hears her voice, laughing and talking away. He looks up the stairs and walks up to her, and puts his hand on her shoulder. "Ek minute Manik..." Comes her reply to the phone, and then she glances at Parth, who is taken aback for a second that she's talking to none other than the cool Manik. She gives him a blank look again and nods to ask him what he wants, but he is out of words, part in anger and part in amazement. She carries on talking and starts to climb up and he follows her. He then overtakes her and stops her. She figures that he wants to talk to her, so she ends her call.
Vibha - Parth...
Parth pins her to the wall with a soft force, holding both her arms with his. He looks at her eyes and unleashes his anger...
Parth - Aap mujhe baat tak nahi karna chahti. Maine kaha tha yeh sab mujhse nahi hoga.
Vibha - Lekin Parth...
Parth - Aap hi ne kaha tha yeh bahut simple hai! Dekh liya aapne kitna simple hai.
Vibha - Parth...
Parth - Aap kyun har bar...
He then lets her go, and punches the wall.
Vibha - Parth!
She holds her hand that just punched the wall.
Vibha - Pagal ho gaye ho kya? Kuch bhi kar dete ho. Meri baat to suno...
Parth - Nahi, aur sun ne ke liye kya baki hai, aap waha se aise chal kar aa gayi, aur phir aap baat bhi nahi kar rahi... Mujhse galti ho gayi, maine usme aapko dekha aur phir...
Vibha - Kya?
She starts to laugh as she realizes that he had imagined he was holding her. The very thought of her feeling jealous amuses her as does his actions when she thinks it was all just a misconstrued fantasy for him. But seeing her laugh angers him all the more.
Parth - Apko hasi aa rahi hai... Theek hai, main ja raha hu...
Vibha - Arey, Parth, ruko toh...
Parth - Nahi, aap has lo!
Vibha - Arey... (she keeps laughing)
Parth - Main ja raha hu
Parth starts to walk away, but she quickly holds his hand and takes him into a classroom and closes the door behind them. She looks at him and starts to speak while he continues to keep a straight, serious face, with his anger and displeasure still intact.
Vibha - Parth, kitna gussa karte ho!
Parth turns his face away to show his blatant displeasure, and she goes around to face him. He rolls his eyes and looks down but she goes up close to him and starts to explain to him.
Vibha - Achcha, tumhe pata hai, jab tum dance kar rahe the, toh I felt jealous!
This made Parth look up at her. She was jealous of the girl? Jealous of someone who was no match for her at all? This could only mean one thing, that she really liked him, and that she couldn't bear to see him with another girl. He wanted to tell her, without wasting one more second, that she had nothing to worry about. And that his heart beats for only one person, and that lady is her!
But he doesn't, he remains quiet and thinks instead to turn around tables and let her feel more jealous. His hidden naughty streak tells him to make up something smart to see her burn a bit more.
Parth - Waise woh itni bhi buri nahi thi, I think main aur ek close dance kar sakta hu.
Vibha - (knows he's just teasing her) Ha, toh jaao, kaun rok raha hai!
Parth - Arey, aap hi to yaha pakad ke layi hai...
Vibha - Abhi toh nahi pakda hai. You're free, you can go.
Parth - (wonders how she can let go of him so easily, but he resists the temptation to hug her) Toh theek hai, main sach main ja raha hu, aur kya pata, is bar main aapko miss bhi nahi karunga. She's actually very sweet, and she likes me...
Parth is about to walk out of the door but he smiles as Vibha holds his hand just as he is about to put his foot out of the classroom. He turns around to look at her. She looks down as she doesn't want him to leave and because he called her bluff. He closes the door again and then looks at her. He gently holds her chin and lifts her face so that they can see eye to eye. She feels shy but she looks at him and sees a smile on his face.
Parth - Main jaau na?
Song plays in background...
Ishq bulava jaane kab aave
Ishq bulava aave jab aave..
Main ta kol tere rehna
Main ta kol tere rehna
Main ta baitha kol tere...
Tainu takda ravaan
Baaton pe teri hansda ravaan
Pagal main khud nu banaanda ravaan
Tu hansdi rave, main hansaanda ravaan
Tainu takda rawaan...
She nods as she gently leans closer to him and wraps her arms around him, and as she softly tilts her head against his chest, she smiles. She feels naughty and relieved. He holds her tight and rests his chin on her head. They both smile, for the same reason, the one that speaks the unspoken words of love that they both feel for one another. The very same feeling that causes the green monster to rear its ugly head, and causes jealousy to take over the heart!
There is now no doubt on his mind about his feelings her and for her feelings for him. He truly feels that she reciprocates his concern, his care, his emotions and most importantly, his love. He wants to do something special for her, but what can he do within the school premises? He thinks it would be way too risky to whisk her away without anyone finding out.
Time passes by quickly and the annual day event is upon them! The busy morning starts of with the hustle and bustle of not only the students doing the last minutes practices, dance, drama, speeches, but also the teachers helping setting up the entire area for the event. Activities start to take place, one by one - Recitals, Drama, Sports...
Its time for boxing and Vibha is anxious to see Parth in the ring, though she wonders if she will be abe to handle seeing him being punched at. She braces herself, puts on a brave face and joins the students to cheer for Parth. She feels the pain every time Parth gets punched and falls. But everytime he looks at her face, he gets new energy and vigour and he fights back with a greater passion to win. He has to do this, not just for the honour of his house, but for his love, he cannot lose in front of his love's eyes. He keeps focussing on the bigger picture and emerges as the winner in the end. Everyone applauds as Vibha looks on happily, feeling tremendously proud of him.
He comes out of the ring to see Utkarsh who is anxiously waiting to hug him and congratulate him, and he sees Vibha standing right next to him as he hugs him. She wants to follow suit but knows she can't. She pauses and then puts forward her hand to congratulate him. He looks at her and smiles and then slowly puts forward to shake her hand. But just as his hand touches hers, she looks at him and he looks back at her...
Song plays in background...
Halke se yun beh raha
Resha ho jaise rui ka
Udta hai dekho kahin aasmaan pe
Dil kaagzi mera
Mutthi mein bhar bhar ke
Cheeni ke daane
Jaise hawa mein ghule
Ho.. taron se khenchi hai roshan sitare
Rahon mein meri chale...
Utkarsh sees him staring at Vibha maam and taps him on his shoulder and he lets go of her hand. He has a big grin on his face, that he simply cannot wipe off.
The day is about to turn into a wonderful evening as the lights lit up and the sports part comes to a close. The winners are announced and given medals, Vibha clapping the loudest with tears of happiness in her eyes when Parth's name is called out for the boxing championship. And as Parth receives the medal, he looks at Vibha and smiles while Vibha fumbles and looks around, feeling shy.
There is soon a break for an hour when the students can relax, get changed and rest before attending the last part of the annual day. Parth is sitting on the balcony, facing the exteriors of the school, when he sees Vibha coming down the stairs. He cannot believe his eyes, what he sees is an Goddess like lady with ethereal beauty and timeless elegance exuberating with every step with which she descends. A glittery white saree clad Vibha raises her eyes to see Parth looking at her, with a stare that he's never been spotted sporting before. She smiles and comes closer to him, quickly ruffles his hair in a playful manner and walks away. He closes his eyes and nods his head to test if it was a dream and as he opens and still sees the silhouette of Vibha walking away to the marquee on the school ground, he lets a faint smile paint his face red. He simply cannot wait to see her again.
While Parth rushes to get changed into the formals for the dance, all he can think of while putting on his jacket is Vibha. He imagines dancing with her, holding her by her waist, and staring into her glistening eyes, while the pristine white clothes in complete contrast with his black outfit drape their respective bodies that are moving in perfect unison, to the sweet, romantic music...
Song plays...
O re piya haye..
O re piya...
Udne laga kyon man baawla re
Aaya kahan se yeh hosla re
Tanabana tanabana bunti hawaa haaye bunti hawa
Boondein bhi to aaye nahi baaz yahan
Sagish mein shaamil sara jahan hai
Har zare zare ki yeh iltiza hai
O re piya haye...
O re piya...
