Part 3:
Its early morning, birds are chirping and the sun is about to rise... Most students are still in their beds...
Parth - (holding her in his arms) You're looking very pretty today...
Vibha - (smiles) Tum to roj hi mujhe yehi kehte ho...
Parth - Ya so... Aap roz hi itni sundar lagti ho...
Vibha - Theek hai, theek hai... (blushes again and smiles)
Parth - Compliments ki koi value hi nahi hai...
Vibha - Of course hai, thank you thank you thank you thank you!
Parth - Are, itne sare thank yous? Maine to sirf ek hi compliment di thi...
Vibha - Tum compliment dene main kanjoosi karo toh iska matlab yeh thodi hai ki main bhi shukriya karne main kanjoosi karu? I'm very generous you see...
Parth - Oh my God! Aap kitni jaldi apna mind change kar leti hai... Pehle compliment hi nahi chahiye, phir main compliment dene main kanjoos?
Vibha - Ha toh?
Parth - Why can't women be as straightforward as men?
Vibha - Because we are like that! And what do you mean? Why can't men be on the same level as women?
Parth - Uff... Yeh kya baatein lekar baith gaye hum...
Vibha - Tumne hi baat start ki thi...
Parth - Lekin...
Vibha - Lekin kya? (looks at him with glaring eyes)
Parth - Kuch nahi... Isse pehle ki aap aur kuch keh de...
Vibha - Kya?
Parth - Nothing... (he leans forward to hug her... and she smiles and tries to stop him)
Vibha - Parth, you should go...
Parth - Hmmm (leans in to hug her again and she hugs him back)
And just then they hear Rishab sir asking "Vibha... what's going on here"... They are both taken back by surprise... And just Vibha tries to explain, she sees Kamini Maam coming their way and asks Parth to go. She pleads with Rishab sir to not say anything and that she will explain to him, but its already too late as Kamini Maam has also seen them from far away. Rishab sir walks away and Kamini Maam intervenes and laughs saying now Vibha will no longer be able to teach in the school. Parth overhears this conversation and feels really bad as he knows how much she needs this job. And on the other hand he is torn whether him taking the full responsibility will result in him being expelled from school and shatter his mother's dreams. He doesn't know who to talk to and both ways seem less than ideal for him and for Vibha. Soon enough, they are both called into the Principals office and while they both try to take the blame on themselves, they are both expelled from school. Parth is totally dejected and upset at facing his mother, and Vibha is completely lost for words not knowing how to face her family now, and more importantly how to find another job with an uncompleted degree as her only qualification. They both look at one another and think how one mistake changed their lives and now they have nothing to look forward to. They are both disappointed in themselves and their fondness for one another has so rapidly turned into dislike towards one another... They look at one another in disgust, and walk away in opposite directions, thinking they will never look back!
And with a strange, stomach-churningly bad feeling in his stomach, Parth wakes up, only to realize that it was a nightmare... And that he was still a part of the school and he hadn't disappointed his Mom, well, not yet... He realized that what he had been doing was wrong and could have dangerous repercussions on not only him, but also Vibha. And he couldn't not be irresponsible enough to let this happen, his feelings weren't beyond both their futures, and both their families and loved ones... He knew he had to make his mother proud and look after her, provide her a comfortable life away from his alcoholic abusive stepfather. And he also knew that she had to provide the financial support for her family, to look after her father and be the pillar of strength for her entire family. He decided that he would not behave like a child following his meaningless dreams and stop with his emotions right away. He wonders if Vibha was trying to make sense of things just as he did today?
Vibha is having a breakfast and reminiscing the hug between her and Parth the day before and gets lost in his thoughts. And soon enough she starts to dream away... She sees that she is with Parth in a romantic snow laden city, with the cherry blossom tree decorated with the icy snow and hanging over the bridge that was devoid of people... Snow starts to fall and just as it melts away on their faces, they look at one another and smile and feel the happiness that only comes with being together... And they both lean in closer, she is interrupted by Kamini Maam who taunts her if she prefers to day dream first thing in the morning than finish her breakfast and prepare for the day ahead?
Just before the English class, Parth makes his way to the class early in the hope of catching Vibha so that he can talk to her but she wasn't there. Slowly students started coming in, and soon Vibha entered. He tried to concentrate as he knew he had to do well at school. But he was also worried about how to tell Vibha about his nightmare, and find out if that is what she wanted too? As the class was over, and everyone left one by one, he walked up to her desk...
Parth - Maam...
Vibha - Yes Parth...
Parth - Main aapse baat karna chahta tha...
Vibha - Yes, tell me...
Parth - Yahan?
Vibha - (clears her throat) What is it about Parth?
Parth - Woh... woh...
Vibha - Abhi nahi Parth (she whispers gently)
Parth - (thinks she's getting the wrong idea) Nahi... mera matlab woh nahi tha...
Vibha - I know Parth (thinks he's going to talk her into things just like he did yesterday)
Parth - But its important Maam (with a serious look on his face)
Vibha - Okay, erm... library... meet me just around lunch time!
Parth - Okay
As he walks away, he feels sad, and turns around to look at her one more time... He wishes time would stop still so that he could just stand there and admire her... But he knows it can't be... It shouldn't be... It must not be... Perhaps somethings are just not meant to be... She looks up and sees him looking at her so gives a gentle smile and nods at him to signal him to go... He goes and she is sad too... She thinks things will end before they even got a chance to start, but this story had no future... She makes her heart believe that this is for the best and after today, things will go back to normal...
Its soon lunch time and Parth rushes to the library to meet her. She is waiting for him behind the shelves and he walks up to her and just as he's about to put his palm on her shoulder, she turns around. He slowly takes his hand away and tries to muster courage to tell her everything he had seen in his sleep. But before he can say something, she starts to talk...
Vibha - Parth. This... whatever this is... It has to stop!
Parth - Maam?
Vibha - I'm your teacher Parth...
Parth - Main bhi...
Vibha - Parth, please let me finish...
Parth - Lekin main bhi wohi...
Vibha - Parth tum nahi sun rahe ho... Kal bhi tumne...
Parth - (holds her with both his arms) Main bhi aapse yeh hi kehne aya tha...
Vibha - Kya?
Parth - Ha, toh pehle aap boliye, phir main kahunga...
Vibha - Agar tum bhi yehi chahte ho, then there is no need to talk...
Parth - Haa shayad...
Vibha - Shayad (looks up at him...)
Parth - Nahi, I meant... Woh...
Vibha - Hmm?
Parth - Apne bilkul thik socha hai. Hum apne liye rules ke against nahi ja sakte. Is se hum dono ki life ruin ho sakti hai... (there is sadness in his tone, and he looks down)
Vibha - (puts her hand on his shoulder and he looks up and she quickly removes it) I'm proud of you Parth, mujhe khushi hai ki tumni itni maturity se yeh problem hi itni asani se solve kar diya hai... (her statement heaves a sigh of relief and yet she looks sad)
Parth - Hmm... (he looks into her sad eyes and raises his hand to touch her face but stops and turns around) Humain lunch ke liye jana chahiye...
Vibha - Tum jao, main aati hu (her voice trembles as she tries to hold back her tears)
Parth starts to walk away slowly and hears a sniff and turns around and walks back to her... And just as tears start to roll out of her eyes, he wipes them and nods to tell her to not cry. She looks up at him and smiles gently and wipes her tears.
Parth - Main hamesha aapke saath hu...
Vibha - I know (smiles)
They both leave together. She, as his teacher, with her responsibility and duty in the forefront of her mind, he, as her student, with his duty and his Mom's aspirations in the forefront of his mind...
(my mind is now torn between the current track and my own version... i'll try and continue this if its still enjoyable to read... let me know!! thanks!)
