So as Parth and Vibha leave the library, both share an overwhelming feeling of sadness... Parth - though he is sad that he will not be able to hold her again, he is content knowing that she is still special to him, and he will always care deeply for her... He will always be there for her, whilst also fulfilling his duty as his mother's son, to achieve what she aspires him to... Vibha - though she is sad that she will not be able to run his hands through his hair or melt away in the warm embrace of his strong arms, she is somewhat consoled by the fact that she felt this amazing sensation for someone, something that was completely indescribable and incomprehensible, yet so beautiful and endearing, she considered herself lucky to be held in such high regard by someone, someone she equally trusted and was fond of...
As Vibha walked away, Parth looked at her and just then she turned around... Both noticed somewhat sad faces of one another and both gave out a faint smile in order to let one another believe that things would be okay... And no matter what, they would not do anything to jeopardize each other's futures... She was starting to realize that she had to be his calming nerve, and care for him just as much as he did for her... He knew he had to be her pillar of strength and support her in every way he possibly could...
Days passed by... They were cordial to one another, there was a blatant concern and expressiveness in both their eyes when they looked at one another, a deep emotion that only two people who deeply cared for another could have... Sometimes one would get carried away in thoughts similar to dreams, only to realize that reality for different, but perhaps not far from it...
Both have lost their appetite, but as Parth continues to walk in the direction of the mess, Vibha walks towards the library. Parth hears no sound of Vibha walking behind him, so he turns around and sees her entering the library. He then gently nods, and walks there too. He enters the library and watches Vibha looking for some books. He goes towards her, he tries to place his palm on her shoulder, but then stops mid air. As he slowly puts his hand away, he clears his throat and starts speaking...
Parth - (stands to her side, and looks at her) Maam, lunch?
Vibha - (keeps looking at the books) Nahi Parth, mujhe bhukh nahi hai! Tum jao
Parth - Par Maam?
Vibha - (still doesn't look at him) Maine kaha na, tum jao
Parth - Are you sure Maam?
Vibha - Yes Parth (continues to look at the books)
Parth - Okay Maam...
Vibha then turns around as she thinks he's going away, and he's standing right there with his arms crossed, looking at her...
Vibha - Parth... woh... tum gaye nahi?
Parth - No Maam, agar aap nahi jayengi to main bhi nahi jaunga...
Vibha - Stop being childish Parth...
Parth - Childish main ho raha hu ya aap?
Vibha - What?
Parth - Aap mujhe ek valid reason de sakti hai lunch nahi karne ke liye?
Vibha - (looks away) Ha, I'm not hungry...
Parth - Sach main? Lekin pehle toh aap lunch karna chahti thi...
Vibha - Ha, nahi... Woh main...
Parth - What is the real reason Maam?
Vibha - Woh mera mood nahi hai...
Parth - Yeh koi reason nahi hota Maam...
Vibha - Parth tum kyu nahi samajhte?
Parth - Aap kyu nahi samajhti? Why should we worry about things that we can't change? Mujhe pata hai aap sad feel kar rahe ho, lekin agar aap nahi khayengi to kya apki sadness chali jayegi? Nahi na?
Vibha - Hmm... (gives out a faint smile)
Parth - Toh phir... Chale?
Vibha - Tum bahut ziddi ho Parth, chalo...
Parth - I know, aur aap mujhe pehle bhi bahut baar keh chuki hai...
They both smile and walk to the mess for lunch. Parth joins the other students while Vibha sits with the teachers. As they are eating, they both occasionally steal a glimpse of one another, without making it too obvious.
The day is about to end, and as Parth sits with Utkarsh near the playground, he wonders how it would have been different Vibha was also studying in the same school at the same time, things would have been less complicated and different... But then perhaps, he wouldn't have known her this well. He thinks whatever happens, happens for a reason and sometimes its better to get on with things in life than ponder over what could be and what couldn't be.
On the other hand Vibha is also sitting on her bed, trying to read a book, but simply cannot concentrate. She wonders how life would have been different if she was at college and she found someone there... Someone her own age, someone who liked her back, and someone with whom life was a lot less complicated... She feels happy to think if this would have been the alternate reality, then she would have happily chosen the college life, even if it was attending a university in India itself as opposed to going to Oxford... But her heart couldn't help but tell her mind why couldn't this guy at college be Parth? Only if he was a few years older and then they could be together!
