Vibha snapped out of her dream and it seemed so wonderful, yet so wrong! The flashing images of her closeness with him during the bonfire were still quite fresh in her mind... She couldn't understand why she was getting carried away to this extent! Could this ever be a reality, could this happen in her life... Could she have a future with him? As she started wondering all these questions surrounding Parth, she glanced at her watch and saw that she still had a few more hours to sleep... She tossed and turned in her bed as every time she tried to close her eyes, she only saw his serene face... She then got up and sat in her bed, and made herself stop thinking about him. But it seemed like every effort of trying to stop thinking about him made her think of him all the more!
She gave up in the end and just closed her eyes and tried to sleep...
It was the end of the final year of college for Parth... Vibha was reminiscing all the wonderful years she had spent with him... She remembered how they had fallen for each other during her time at Warrior High as a teacher... He was the perfect student with anger issues, but a mature, responsible boy at heart. He had always cared for her, deeply, so much so that he had helped her shape her future for what it was today! If it hadn't been for him, she wouldn't have been able to complete her college education with scholarship, and she wouldn't have been able to save enough money to continue helping her mother and nani... She was forever indebted to him, with not just her mind, body, heart and soul, but all else she could ever give him! He on the other hand, thought she was the reason for his achievements, his confidence, his happiness, his life... He always said he was in a greater debt to her than she was to him whenever she talked about it and got emotional.
She remembered how he had supported not just her, but her family when her father had passed away. He always wanted to be there for her, no matter what time of the day it was, no matter what situation he was in, no matter what was going on in school. She remembered all the little moments in school and smiled. And then reflected upon the college years, when they both entered together, but she was a year senior to him as she had been allowed to carry forward her previously completed year at Oxford. Not the one to be grand on gestures, he had gradually come so close to her, that they were practically doing everything together whilst studying at college. They had started to live life normally, and he tried his best to be a regular boyfriend. But if you asked her, she would tell everyone that she had the perfect boyfriend! She would say that she had an idea of the kind of guy he wanted in life, but then he walked into his life, and though he was completely different, she kept falling for him, and things just got better and better. She now couldn't imagine life without him. He wouldn't be as vocal about her, but would always appreciate her role in his life. He would say that she was the reason of his changed behaviour, though she complained at times that he still had anger management issues!
He had kept his promise and met her every single day since she passed out of college for two whole months. After which, she realized that he needed to focus more on his final year studies and plan his future, so they used to meet as often as they could. Meanwhile she had found a job to keep busy and visited her family every once in a while. As she was thinking of all these wonderful memories... Parth came to her...
Parth - (tapped on her shoulder) Vibha...
Vibha - (snapped out of her flashbacks) Ha...
Parth - Kaha kho gayi?
Vibha - Nahi.. woh...
Parth - Achcha chalo, sab wait kar rahe hai...
Vibha - (looks back and sees Parth's mother, her mother and nani waiting in the background, she smiles at them and then looks back at Parth) Sorry, ha, chalo...
Parth - Are you okay?
Vibha - (looks at him and smiles) Never been better!
Its time for Parth's graduation ceremony and as Vibha sits with her and Parth's family, she can't help but feel immense pride and happiness. She is much more happier today than she was on the day of her own graduation! She knows he will achieve great heights of success as he already has a high profile job lined up, having completed a successful internship. They all cheer for him as his name is announced and as he receives an award for outstanding performance at college, he acknowledges the immense contribution and support of his mother and a special person in his life, Vibha, and the blessings of dadi and aunty.
As the event comes to a close, Parth takes Vibha down a forest-like pathway close to the college, glistening with lights... He walks like a true gentleman, and she holds on to his arm... He looks at her and thinks she is so beautiful and he is so lucky to have her, she thinks she is blessed to have him by her side, always...
Vibha - Wow... yeh jagah kitni sundar lag rahi hai, hai na Parth...
Parth - Hmmm
Vibha - Wait a minute... Yaha to koi nahi hai... toh phir ye lights?
Parth - (smiles) Mujhe kya pata... (and starts to walk off)
Vibha - Parth, ruko... Parth... (figures out that it is him... He has decorated this place...) Yeh sab tumne...
Parth - (turns back and goes upto her and and holds her with both his arms) Hmm...
Vibha - Its beautiful! Waise bhi yeh meri favourite spots main se ek hai... Pata hai kyu?
Parth - Hmm...
Vibha - (continues in her happily excited tone) Yaha hum college ke pehle din aye the... Ek saath...
Parth - Ha... Aur yahi par humne ek dusre ka haath pakad kar chale bhi the, for the first time!
Vibha - Tumhe yaad hai...
Parth - Of course... Main kaise bhul sakta hu? For the first time, we could be together...
Vibha - Ha... It was so special... And it will always be special...
She hugs him and he hugs her right back! She tells him how happy she is to be with him and how lucky stars have been for her ever since he came into her life... But before she gets too emotional, he stops her...
Parth - Ab chale? Mujhe ek bahut hi important sawal puchna hai! (he gives a cheeky smile)
Vibha - Sawal? Kaisa sawal?
Parth - Yaha nahi...
Vibha - Parth...
Parth - Vibha...
Vibha - Parth, what is this...
Parth - Pehle chalo to...
Vibha - Lekin (he puts his finger on her lips before she can speak further...)
She looks at him and then gently flutters her eyelids, and then signals him to let go and says she won't ask more questions... They start walking till they reach a small marquee, decorated with rustic lanterns.
Vibha - Yeh kya hai?
Parth - Andar chal kar dekhe?
Vibha - Parth, yeh sab toh mujhe tumhare liye karna chahiye tha... Aaj tumhara special day hai! Aur yeh sab tumne...
Parth - Shh... Chalo...
As they enter the marquee, Vibha hears a huge "Surprise!"... She is indeed surprised to see Parth's mother, her own mother and nani around a small table, decorated with roses and glittering lights. She asks them what they are doing there as its so late, and then turns back to find Parth, on his knee, with a tiny box opened in his hands... She closes her eyes and opens them again to be sure she is seeing things right...
Vibha - (whispers gently) Parth...
Parth - Vibha, kya tum mujhse shaadi karogi?
Vibha - (her eyes get watery) Parth...
Parth - Will you marry me?
Vibha - Ha, yes, of course!
Parth - Hand?
Vibha - Ha (realizes she hasn't given her hand for him to place the ring and slowly lifts her left hand)
As Parth places the ring on her finger, she smiles and everyone claps with excitement and happiness! He hugs her and then seeks blessings from the elders. Her nani tells her how he asked for their permission before he set out with this grand plan of his. She says how she always thought he would truly make her happy ever since she met him in school! She is glad that he got their elders to be a part of this special moment! She gently whispered a soft thank you in his ears as everyone fed each other sweets.
The family then bid adieu and wish them a pleasant night.
Parth - Now for the next part...
Vibha - Next part...
Parth - Shhh (places his hands on her eyes to cover them) Close your eyes...
Vibha - Ek aur surprise? Parth...
Parth - Shh... Bas chalo...
They walk towards a lake where a small boat awaits to take them away...
Parth - (gently moves his hands away and she still stands with her eyes closed) You can open your eyes now...
Vibha - Sure?
Parth - Ha...
Vibha - (opens her eyes and sees the boat, glistening with lights) Boat ride?
Parth - Chalein?
Vibha - Parth... (looks at him in a dreamy way...)
He holds her hand and they both step in... There is a small table with candle-lit dinner and he makes her sit, they both have dinner while reminiscing all their special moments.
Vibha - I can't believe that you did all this...
Parth - Ha... Maine bhi kabhi nahi socha tha ki main yeh sab...
Vibha - Mere liye...
Parth - Tumhe pata hai Vibha, tumne mera tab saath diya jab mujhe khud par bharosa nahi tha. You always had the faith in me, tumne hamesha mujh par bharosa kiya. I value that a lot! Aur shayad isiliye aaj main woh sab kuch kar paya hu jo maine socha bhi nahi tha...
Vibha - Nahi Parth, you were always capable. Mujhe hamesha se pata tha ki agar tum apne dimaag ko shant rakh sakoge to ucahi par zaroor pahuchoge...
Parth - Hmm...
Vibha - Aur dekho, teen din ke bad, tumhari job bhi start ho jayegi...
As the meal is finished, Parth plays a soft romantic tune on his phone... Vibha is surprised at this...
Parth - Would you like to dance? (gives out his hand to Vibha)
Vibha - Dance?
Parth - Ha..
Vibha smiles and gives her hand to him, they both start swaying along on the boat...
Parth - Main janta hu ki yeh sab itna fancy nahi hai... Lekin...
Vibha - Tum pagal ho gaye ho kya? Its perfect! Actually, its more than perfect... Parth, every single thing today was absolutely beautiful and perfect. Tumne yeh din mere liye sabse memorable and special bana diya hai. Aur waise bhi, yeh fancy kya hota hai? Mujhe toh bas woh chota sa ghar chahiye jisme tumhara pet dog hoga, gaming room hoga, aur balcony jaha hum roz subah chay piyenge...
Parth - (smiles) Ha, aur ek cat bhi rakhenge...
Vibha - (smiles) Tumhe yaad hai, mere liye cat...
Parth - Hmm... (kisses her on her forehead while she closes her eyes and then he hugs her)
And as another song plays...
Parth - Ab wapas chalein?
Vibha - Hmm... Kya hum thodi der yahi baith sakte hai? Mujhe aisa lag raha hi jaise yeh rat kabhi khatam hi na ho...
Parth - Agar raat khatam nahi hogi, toh hamari shaadi kaise hogi, aur phir tumhe hamara chota sa ghar kaise milega? (smiles cheekily)
Vibha - (smiles back at him) Thodi der ke liye... Waise bhi tumhari job shuru ho jayegi phir shayad itna time bhi nahi hoga...
Parth - Hmm theek hai.
They both go under the small roof of the boat, and as they sit, Parth puts his arm around her shoulders and she rests her head on his chest... He holds her hand in his and gently kisses her fingers... She looks up to him and they share a passionate kiss...
Vibha - I love you
And then she hugs him tight, almost as if to seize the time and never let him go...
