Chapter three

12pm in a rented apartment, Chandigarh.

"I don't want pizza for lunch, i want my Poppin", Riya was adamant . She was missing her uncle.

"Eat beta, then u will fall sick, Riya's grandma persuaded her lovingly to which the little girl still refused for even a single bite.

The oldie was the master mind behind the kidnapping as she was tired of playing the cat and mouse game to get her grandkid's custody. She was losing patience.

12pm in a motel room, moga

His head spinned as he opened his eye and searched around the room. "When did i check into a motel?" He was puzzled and then recalled that he was working at the porch area at sandhus residence with some men fixing the canopies where lunch would be served to the guests after the marriage took place. He wanted the best for tejo and her family after all the humiliation that was thrown upon them where partly he was to be blamed apart from her own sister.

While working , he didn't realize when he was struck with three hard blows at the back of his head

"Jasmin , did she do this? She got me kidnapped?. I am sure she wants to destroy tejo's marriage".

He was furious and stood up at once. To his horror, he was just in his shorts and his clothes were lying on the floor.

" Who removed his clothes. What was going on? Was he raped??"

He sank on the wooden floor, confused, annoyed and upset. He gathered some courage and put on his clothes rushing to open the door. It was locked from the outside. He was trapped.

The drive from Moga to Chandigarh was 168km by road which was a three hour plus journey. There were two reasons , he couldn't book flight or train tickets at the last minute and he wanted to buy some time to trap the kidnappers. He wasn't gonna give them a single penny.. He had contacts in the crime branch department and had the authorities working with him in the nick of time for the rescue mission.

Angad mann was a shrewd business man. He knew riya was still in danger after the first kidnapping attempt in Shimla. So he fitted hidden cameras all over his Moga residence for her safety apart from the cctv cameras that were already present when he bought the property. She was forbidden to go anywhere till the custody case was resolved after he married tejo

Unfortunately she went missing on the marriage day. It seemed destiny didn't want him to be united with tejo. Perhaps there was something coming in his way. Only time will tell. . He sighed to his twisted fate as he drove towards Chandigarh.

His phone rang and was relieved when the officer in charge from the crime branch who was handling Riya's case spoke impatiently.

" Sir, we got the footage from the hidden cameras. The cctvs were not working. They were damaged. It was a job of a bunch of professional kidnappers where three of the them are on the wanted list. Their records are with the crime branch and soon the cops will be on their trail. And there was a shot of riya's grandma sneaking at the backyard in conversation with one of the kidnappers"

They had the full recordings as a proof.

" Yes, i knew it . It has to be her. I was prepared ( that explains why he fitted the hidden cameras) . She thinks she's smart. She doesn't know who i am ".

Chapter four

12.30pm , Chandigarh

She was shocked to see angad's message on her phone

" I got proof of u behind the kidnapping. Have a look".

She clicked on the link to a small video disclosing her conversation with one of the kidnappers at his moga residence backyard. She gasped.She was trapped.

Then the next message came in

" If u don't want to get arrested, we settle this my way rite now. I am reaching Chandigarh soon. Do as i say".

She replied in agreement obeying him , worried about going behind bars where she would be spending last few years of her remaining life. She didn't want to die in a jail . She lived all alone. She was a widow and riya's mum was her only child. She had no one at her side.

She regretted being instigated by jasmin who gave her the idea of the kidnapping in the first place to take revenge on her own sister destroying her marriage and helped to hire the professional criminals as well . Angad was too smart for any random guy out there for the risky job.

The kidnappers demanded lucrative amount for the task which was approx 10 crore. The ransom was double amount as the balance would be shared between her and jasmin. She needed the money to clear some of her husband's unsettled debts .

Seconds later, he sent her the location of a mall nearby where she was to bring riya quietly without anyone's knowledge and to be handed over to him safely.

She requested the one and only kidnapper present with her at that moment who was keeping an eye on the little girl playing with her toys that she wanted to take her for a stroll for fresh air. The kidnapper informed the oldie to becareful and to return soonest possible. Otherwise their leader would be furious if his plan failed.

12.30 pm in a motel , Moga

For past twenty minutes he struggled to free himself from the small room. He banged at the door for help. Someone outside the corridor might hear his frantic screams for help. He even tried to break the hard wooden door but it was too strong for him. Made of solid wood. His head ached and bleed a little from the hard blows. He required medical assistant soonest possible.

Just then , he heard footsteps outside. Perhaps could be his kidnapper. He hid in a corner to be prepared to ambush that evil person as soon as the door opened. He was shocked to see the individual.

Gippy!!

He rushed forward trying to choke his kidnapper who assured him that he meant no harm. Pleaded to listen to his own words before reacting further.

Fateh released his grip and Gippy sank in a nearby chair gasping for air.

" U kidnapped me , took off my clothes, what are u upto man? Answer me !!"" He was furious.

"Wait a minute, u left for Canada rite after jasmin ditched u . What the hell are u doing here".

Gippy then explained to him that he did leave for the country feeling cheated by jasmin but he was restless. He was annoyed that a girl could easily frame him for a deed he never did. How could he be fooled so easily . His ego was hurt. He wasn't happy there and returned for revenge. He won't sit still till jasmin sew her seeds. He hired a private detective to spy on her and he knew all that occured in moga the past few months ago .

" She destroyed u the same she did with me. Now it's time to pay back. We join hands", Gippy offered fateh for a handshake

Fateh didn't react . He was not satisfied.

" Jasmin is too shrewd".

Gippy gave an evil smirk

" I have a solid plan".

Fateh then enquired as to why his clothes were removed to which gippy giggled "it was hot in the room. No AC and the fan was not good enough to keep u cool".

Fateh was annoyed and threw an empty mineral water bottle towards him. He ducked his head avoiding it and stated smiling

" U were involved in jasmin's fake accusations that she threw upon me at that time so face it now. I got ur clothes removed to make u feel the victim as well".

Then both men laughed and did a high five.

" U should have just rang me up to meet somewhere why get goons disguising as labours in the marriage to get me kidnapped with three hard blows . God , it's painful". Fateh was irritated

Gippy smirked again

"Without pain there's no gain. It's part of the plan".

" We need to get u admitted to a hospital rite away. Not to worry, i bribed the doctor already. He's waiting for us there."

Fateh was puzzled and Gippy spilled his plan .
