Yes, Radhika. Suraj is a very complex character and that's the reason I still like him so much. I can totally relate to him, not because I've dealt with the same situations, but because I've seen others do. We don't go outside our house everyday and find girls like Chakor ready to defend the helpless one. It will be good if we did, but there are many troubled teenagers out there who are on the wrong path because of their own family's issues.

My sympathy always went to him because I could not blame him from fallowing his family's values. Children are supposed to listen to their parents. And this is India and more a rural area, children see their parents as God. How could he disobey his father just like that? Add to that the fact he was driven by love and not by duty, so how could he simply disobey him? I would have lost my respect for him if he had thrown tantrums at his parents since childhood like Vivaan did. This is what I want Chakor to understand most of all. Sometimes I have the feeling that she wanted him to go against his parents from day one, which was practically impossible. Don't know if I make sense because I am tired now.

I saw that segment where he asked Chakor to look from his perspective and it made me angry. In months, we finally get a glimpse of what Suraj is all about (which is to have quite family life) and Chakor totally misunderstood him. But either way, I was happy to notice that the CV haven't forgotten who Suraj is and if they put those lines there it means that one day Chakor will understand him.

She doesn't look deeper. Takes things at face value where Suraj is concerned.
I really hope the CV's show this much needed understanding. If Chakor is to fall in love with Suraj, she has to understand him and the fact that he craves love and empathy.

Totally agree with you, Namita. Chakor doesn't look deeper. She is very superficial when it comes to reading people. For example, she couldn't figured out that Vivaan loves Imli, but Suraj was suspicious about it and it turned out that he was right. Vivaan fell for Imli.

The same goes for Imli. She really can't see the dark side of her sister that lies behind her innocent face.

She has a very childish way of placing people in just two categories: the bad ones and the good ones.

Yes, Sailuja! Day by day, Chakor trusts Suraj more and more and he is also changing in order to adjust her. So, one fine day they will both understand each other completely. Chakor will love Suraj with of all of her heart and will never look back.

I did not like her confessing today that even Suraj was in love with Imli at the same time and that it bothered her...too soon for that I felt. While Suraj may be justified in all he has done...he still has done a lot of stuff to Chakor - that he has not officially apologised for.

Just like Suraj with all his baggage may be justified...poor Chakor with everything that gets doled out to her on her head every 5 mins..needs to be seen in context of what she sees done and happening. She says today - that fighting with Suraj got her attention...that was very vulnerable.

Priya, presumptuous is exactly what I felt when Chakor bared her soul today!!! I literally felt ashamed that we as women didn't think of the things Chakor said.

I agree about Chakor not seeing him as a person with feelings. We all kept saying that Suraj should be grateful for everything she's done for him and wondering why on earth she was being so nice to him.
Seeing things from his point of view, all she did for him before KNR had returned was to show him sympathy and tell him to stay away from Imli. Not so that he wouldn't be heartbroken but that Imli's picture perfect life wouldn't be ruined. I'm glad he went against her advice and told Imli anyway. Else he would've been doing the spineless thing like Vivaan.
Granted she forgave him for all his sins and what not. But she did it because she is truly a saint. And Suraj isn't moved by saints thinking about the greater good, he's moved by what people do for him. And he reciprocates, giving his all to them in return.
I actually have more to say about this, but this post has already become longer than I intended. I will get back to it if time permits.
Again, a wonderful and much needed post Claudia. I've said this before, no one understands and loves the original Suraj more than you!

Oh, Aradhana, those initial episodes were my favorite ones. They tell a lot about how Suraj is going to be. He was also not as nasty as he will be a couple of months later when he will start bullying the little Chakor. I just thought he was funny the way he was fuming all the time. But my heart went out to him because I found it sad how a child could have only one thought all the time, which was to impress his father.

I don't think either that Suraj is going to be Chakor's "yes" man. I am certain the scores will be settled in the near future. I only wanted to emphasize how she deals with him right now. Because, you know, she is Mahaan, so she is supposed to be a little sensitive to the people close to her. Only when it comes to Suraj she totally overlooks his feelings. She completely forgets that a son is actually fighting against his own family. What sane human being would be happy in such a situation? I will feel miserable to go against my father and my sister even if I have to for the right reasons.

Claudia - I also disagree that Chakor is not caring of Suraj's feelings and is using him as a yes-man for her own reasons...that is so not Chakor.

Even during the scene when Suraj puts KN and Ragini on top of each other...she extols Suraj's virtues to KN...in how much of a man he is. She fights with him over his inability to control his alcohol and how much he does without thinking...and you'll have to agree with me - CVs have shown him doing enough stupid things.

Also while we the audience have been shown that Suraj has suddenly developed a soft corner for Chakor - only in the last week- he has shown her this good side of hers and she is responding.

Prior to that - Suraj has consistently been horrid to Chakor...since childhood.

The scene where Suraj was explaining about his past to Chakor...was just after she heard how much Suraj hated her...she was taken aback to hear of such hatred from his side...why would she respond to his explanation immediately...she is also human...we all need time to digest info.

Also remember Suraj was really nasty to Chakor pre-leap...the way he tore her notebook ... no older boy should seek to terrorize a vulnerable girl like that.

I understand the upbringing...but he has constantly bullied a defenseless girl...who did not directly do him any harm and while I can understand the reasons why he did bad things...fact still remains he did do bad things.

In a court of law...rationale on why you did bad things does not hold value...we can sympathize...and see why...by eventually we are judged by our actions.

Suraj needs to apologize first ... we seee Chakor responding just by Suraj changing...he has not even acknowledged half of his deeds..childhood harrasment, attempt to kill her friend media one, slaps by Imli, made her eat an apple from the ground, attempt to ruin her career, made her shoot at her mother, he shot at her sister, had a child with her sister, refusal to marry her, forced marriage, made her fall at his feet, blackmail, attempted marital rape, then love for her sister, throwing her out of his house, asking for a divorce, public humiliation in the comparison against imli, no one wanted to save her in the KN return episode...he let her hang and held on to Imli and still you want Chakor to understand him easily...Right now the way she is responding to him is way more than I would have.

have you ever thought that she may be calling him a pakhandi...because he shows a bad face even though he is a good person at heart?

And about sukor relationship it's just beginning ,they are at the intial point of their relationship and they even don't know what to name their relationship and chakor is understanding him slowly,that's why she is with him even though he planned to murder kn and I think it takes time for both of them to understand each other,now they are each other's support and each other's weekness and when they reach to the peak point in their relationship they will live for each other
And she is liking the new Suraj because he changed himself from a ruthless man to an understanding person,the person who stood by her side when the whole world was against her and he is giving his full support to her during when imvaan once decided leave all this mess and live a peaceful life

I know that there will be a time when their relationship will be based on equality.

In my opinion there isn't any, from Chakors side there is no love involved in whatever she is doing for him, just that she is helping him like she would help any other person...

Ofcourse I don't want Suraj to become her yes man either, this guy has always had a mind of his own , his own individuality and he should not loose that , only becoz just maybe he starts feeling something for her...

Well now let's see what happens...now she told Suraj to go away, so let's see how the story will unfold now

Esha, of course, you can disagree. I like debates.

This post was not at all meant to defend or glorify Suraj. Not at all. I wanted to give to people an inside to his character because many members have not paid attention to this character from the very beginning.

We all know what Suraj did and there is no way that I am finding excuses for him.

But coming to Chakor, yes I expect from her a little more sympathy since she does act like a saint. And we expect saints to show understanding even to those that have hurt them. If she can forgive the verbal abuse of Vivaan and Imli, if she can forgive and forget that Imli, being her younger sister, slapped her so many times, then she can empathize a little with Suraj. I know he has done bad to her but he also did a couple of good things which she fails to acknowledge:

- he saved Imli's life and she never thanked him; as a reword she decided to trick him into marrying her sister. Imli being pregnant or not, I believe what Chakor did was totally wrong;

- when Vivaan left her so carelessly and happy-happy to meet his love Imli and she was so heartbroken that fainted out the emotions, Suraj went to give her support and even if she insulted him and pushed him away, he didn't leave her and went trough all of her outburst.

I think Suraj does understand Chakor, but he didn't know how to deal with her and he is now slowly understanding.

And of course it was not her fault that KN was obsessed with her and didn't pay attention to his son. Suraj was trying to explain her exactly that. That he knows now the truth but she didn't listen.
