There's one thing about Narayani Shastri. The actor doesn't believe in tom-tomming about herself, especially when she doesn't have much work on hand. And that too, the lady assures, is by choice and not otherwise. "I'm really not interested in doing the same saas-bahu shows anymore. However big the production house is, I refuse to do these kind of serials anymore," she says firmly. Narayani, who was last seen in shows like SAB's Twinkle Beauty Parlour and Nach Baliye 2, says that now she's ready to experiment and try out something new. "I've done positive roles and I've done negative roles. Now I would like to anchor some show," she adds.
In fact, so tired is she of the regular shows, that she's thinking of turning to radio. "Talks are on. I've spoken to a couple of people and something might happen soon," she says, not willing to reveal much. But is it going to be a music based programme or an interactive one? "Well, since I've been on television, it will definitely be an interactive kind of show," she answers. But it's not like Narayani has decided to quit television. "Oh no, I'm not that stupid! In fact, I have a serial called Sanskar that I'm doing on DD. It's a weekly and I'm getting good money for that," she says candidly.
Films are also on Narayani's mind. The actor who has made appearances in films like Chandni Bar and in Marathi film Pak-Pak-Pakak, reveals that something big might happen somewhere mid this year. "I really can't give names but something is on the anvil. I don't want to talk about something that hasn't happened yet and make a fool of myself," she adds. It seems that professionally, Narayani has loads to look forward to. But talk about her personal life and it is but natural that talks would steer towards Gaurav Chopraa. It is only sometime back that Gaurav had announced that they have broken off and are just good friends again. "Even when I was seeing Gaurav, everyone used to keep asking me about him. So now, Gaurav and I have mutually decided not to talk about each other," says Narayani.
