Uma had not heard from Kanak since he had cut her call, it had been 6 days, 3 hours and 32 minutes, not that he was counting

He had walked past numerous times but she wasnt at work and he had no idea where she lived

Then he caught a glance of Kanak sat in the coffee shop next door, she was sat with Jai.
Uma never was good at controlling his temper and stormed into the cafe

"Oh hi, long time no see"

Uma shook his head "No I'm meant to ask you out for our first date"

"To late, youll have to be faster next time"

Uma fanned his face
"Already decided we will go on another date, we havent even had the first, im not sure if im ready for that level of commitment "

Kanak frowned, taking his joke seriously
Uma leant down, without thinking he kissed her lips
"You look better when you smile"

Uma walked away
But Kanak did smile from then onwards, in fact she couldnt wipe the smile from her face

She was so nervous and really needed to move forward to go and see him but she couldnt

Then he saw her, smiling at him from afar

He didnt think it was humanly possible to actually be that beautiful
But Kanak was an enigma
And constantly proved him wrong

She was dressed in blue, it really brought out her eyes
Scratching the back of his neck he held his other hand out

Kanak took it, she gazed at how well their hands fit together
Kind of like that was where they were meant to be

Uma pointed to the horse and carriage set up
Helping her up she sat down, he climbed up next to her
"I feel like some kind of princess"

You deserve to be treated like one was what he wanted to say but he just smiled
It was difficult to hide how he felt, he didnt want to scare her off
He had made that mistake before

Kanak looked down at their entwined hands
The view was amazing from here, peaceful and calm
Stopping, he jumped down
Lifting her from her waist her legs spun around as he put her down

Sitting on the blanket ready, he passed her a flask
"Tea, because I made you spill the other"

He must have thought she was crazy
Uma's lips were warm by her ear, as he spoke she could feel the hairs on the back of her neck stand up

Kanak leant up, pressing her lips to his
And just like that, it was home
There wasn't fireworks or fire burning within them
It was like finally finding shelter in a thunderstorm

Her hand trailed up to cup his face, he rubbed his stubble against her cheek

Tucking her hair behind her ear, he rested his forehead against hers

She gulped

And then they were kissing, again and again and again.
