Kanak looked over at the field.
"Uma, I want you to meet someone, well two people who are important to me"

Standing up, she held out her hand, Uma placed his hand in hers, standing up, he followed her to two lone gravestones.

"Uma, this is my parents"
She didnt want to look at him, to see him freak out and run, she let go of his hand, the choice was his

Uma was quiet for a while, before grabbing her hand again
"Thank you for showing me something so close to you"
Kanak sighed in relief, smiling through her tears

He lifted his hand, wiping her tears, she snuggled into his hand
"What makes me so worthy"
Kanak opened her eyes
"Are you really asking me that"

He nodded
"You make me laugh, when my life has been full of pain, you make me smile, just by looking at me, being with you is like learning how to breathe again because you take my breath away, but I wouldnt change it, you taught me more about myself then I would ever have learnt alone"

Uma smiled, turning to the grave stones, he knelt down
"Thank you, for bringing this beautiful woman into my world, I promise to treat her how she deserves, always. And if its okay i'd really like to take her out again"

Kanak couldnt swallow, the lump in her throat made tears spring to her eyes
How could she be so lucky
"They would love you"

Uma looked back at her
"I hope so"

"Dance with me"
"It would be my pleasure"


Uma placed his hand on Kanak's waist, he linked his fingers with hers, she rested her head on his chest as they swayed to the tune Uma hummed

Spinning her out, he spun her back in, he dipped her, pausing to take in her smile
Astounded once again by her beauty

Pulling her up, he kissed her forehead
Running her hand down his chest she rested her ear against his beating heart

"Its beating so fast"
Uma smirked "it tends to do that when you're around"

Uma turned her around, so her back was against his chest
Resting her head back on his shoulder she closed her eyes

Uma rocked her slightly to the side
"What is this Uma"
"I dont know, ive never felt this way before"
"But it feels good right "

"It feels amazing"

Kanak was walking through the alleyway when she heard a whistle from behind her

Stopping she turned to face the man, grabbing her, he pushed his arm into her throat, his hand under her shirt

Lifting her leg, she kneed him before trying to run, he brought her back, slapping her around the face

Tugging her wrist, she ran as far as she could
Running into Uma's clinic

"Kanak whats"
Wrapping her arms around his waist, she sobbed
"There was a man, he tried to"
Uma clenched his jaw

"Where is he, let me go find him"
"No, no I just want you to stay with me"
Uma stroked her hair

"Do you have a shower here, I just"
Uma pointed to the side room
Kanak walked in, turning on the shower, she sat under it


Uma walked in, wrapping his arms around her, he held her as they both sat under the shower
Kanak snuggled into him

"It will be okay Kanak, you're safe now"
Uma reached up, turning off the shower

Wrapping a towel around her, he picked her up
"I have a spare shirt or two in there, im gonna go get you a hot drink"

Grabbing his hand she paused "I dont want to be alone"
"Ill be just outside the door"
Kanak let go, nodding


A few minutes later, Kanak walked out, Uma passed her a hot cup of tea
Kanak sat down

Uma pulled the blinds shut, turning the open sign to close
"Why are you shutting shop"
"Priorities"

Pulling a chair over, he lifted her feet up
He pushed his thumbs in circles at the arch of her feet
Kanak bit back a moan at how good it felt

She tried to pull her feet back, but his fingers around her ankles stopped her
"You dont have to do this"
"I want to"

Kanak rested her head back, closing her eyes

Neither had realised how much time had passed just being together in eachothers presence.

Kanak was reading a book she had found on Uma's desk, whereas Uma was just enjoying her company

"Did you know "
She paused
"Actually you probably did"

Uma smiled "Do you want something to eat"
Kanak nodded "Please"
Uma walked over to the cafe next door, he came back a few minutes later with food

Kanak yawned as she bit into her food
Uma wasnt sure what it was about Kanak that made him so captivated but there was something

"Will you take me home, my clothes should be dry right"

Uma nodded
Kanak went to change
Returning she held out her hand

Uma grabbed it and walked to the car with her
"Whereabouts do you live"
"Opposite my shop "

Uma nodded, it was hard to focus on driving when Kanak was sat right next to him

Finally arriving, Kanak pressed a kiss on his cheek
"Thanks for today"

He smiled, she had really put her spell on him
"No problem, ill see you soon"
Getting out of the car she waved at him, watching as he drove away

Life seemed perfect
