Dear community members,
We are thrilled to announce several exciting updates and enhancements that we have made to our Fan Fiction (FF) section. We have listened to your valuable feedback and worked diligently to implement these changes, aiming to improve your overall experience and enjoyment while engaging with the fan fiction community. Here is a comprehensive list of the updates along with the link where these things where suggested by our readers and writers:
- Arrangement to remove FAIL reaction from FF chapters: We have removed the FAIL reaction from FF chapters to promote a more positive and constructive environment. (For more details, please refer to this link.)
- Forum Topic Reactions migration to FF Chapters based on its values: We have migrated Forum Topic Reactions to FF Chapters, ensuring that reactions are aligned with the content and values of each chapter. (For more information, please visit this link.)
- Members who blocked Authors cannot react on their stories: To enhance the sense of security and prevent potential conflicts, we have implemented a restriction where members who have blocked authors are unable to react to their stories. (For additional details, see this link.)
- Notification sent during FF migration to its Forum Topic Members: When migrating FF to new platforms or sections, we now send notifications to the members subscribed to the corresponding Forum Topics. This helps ensure that all interested readers stay informed about the updates.
- 'View All' button added to Featured Books: We have included convenient 'See More' buttons in our Featured Books section. With this enhancement, you can now easily access a centralized location to explore all the featured FFs. (Check it out here.)
- FF Tags loaded on select2 from the database: We have implemented a functionality where FF tags are dynamically loaded from the database, similar to the Entity tag system. This ensures accuracy and consistency when selecting tags. (Further details can be found at this link.)
- FF tags page with PN and alphabetical ordering: We have introduced an FF tags page that lists tags alphabetically, based on the number of FFs associated with each tag. This allows for easier navigation and discovery of FFs. (For more information, please refer to this link.)
- FF genres page with PN and alphabetical ordering: Similar to the FF tags page, we have created a dedicated FF genres page, displaying genres alphabetically and prioritizing those with a higher number of associated FFs. This facilitates browsing and exploring FFs by genre.
- FF Filters based on Ratings: We have implemented a rating-based filtering system, enabling you to filter and discover FFs based on their ratings. You can now find FFs that align with your preferred rating criteria. (To learn more, please visit these links: link1, link2.)
- Allow Multiple Authors in FF: We have introduced the ability to have multiple authors for a single FF. This promotes collaboration and allows authors to work together on creative projects. (For additional information, please see this link.)
- Page for lists of all authors with FFCount > 0: We have created a dedicated page that lists all authors who have contributed to the fan fiction section and have at least one published FF. This page serves as a hub to discover and explore various authors and their works. (To access the page, please click here.)
- Content Vault removed for Deleted FFs, available only for DT and FFE: We have made changes to the Content Vault feature, limiting its availability to Deleted FFs and granting access exclusively to designated team members (DT) and Fan Fiction Editors (FFE). This adjustment ensures the appropriate management and privacy of deleted content. (For more information, please refer to this link.)
- Separate Section for Trigger Warning: In consideration of sensitive content, we have established a separate section dedicated to Trigger Warnings. This section allows authors to provide warnings for potentially triggering content, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all readers. (To learn more, please visit this link.)
- FFE notes on every chapter based on suggestions: Based on valuable feedback from our Fan Fiction Editors (FFE) and authors, we have introduced FFE notes on every chapter. These notes are visible exclusively to FFEs and authors, fostering effective communication and collaboration to enhance the quality of FFs.
- De-linking Topic from FF limited to FFE: We have limited the ability to de-link a topic from an FF exclusively to Fan Fiction Editors (FFE). This ensures proper control and management of topic associations. (For further details, please refer to this link.)
We are thrilled about these updates and believe they will significantly enhance your fan fiction experience. We hope you enjoy exploring the new features and improvements in our FF section. As always, your feedback is valuable to us, so please don't hesitate to share your thoughts and suggestions.
Happy reading and writing!
Best regards,
Vijay
