It is applicable to various categories like fan fiction, original fiction, non-fiction etc. So whoever wishes to highlight that may do that in the tags section. Agree with you Appy. Fanfic and Original Fic are genres, noting to do with the length of the story. Fan fiction, in its most basic definition, is a written genre that uses elements from conventionally distributed work, such as established characters, settings, plots or scenes from any serial or a TV show to develop new works of fiction, in a way, based on an existing work of fiction.
