Alia is naturally talented.. And she has immense screen presence..I find her a delight to watch on screen.
Aishwarya abs Deepika,  though not as naturally talented as Alia, they too have a great screen presence combined with good looks.. U can't take ur eyes off Aishwarya. But they r true examples of grooming.. They r director's actors.. They have been groomed and grown into better actors compared to when they started.
Athiya doesn't have any of these factors and it's less likely that she will be a star

The film industry has not said it. The 200 to 250 families of film industry cannot make a star. They can make a film, but not a star.

That is the whole freaking point!!! You can make them a film. An outsider struggles to even get a film. No one is saying the film industry shouldn't help star kids, just acknowledge your privilege. Is it so hard to do that?

We've all said the same, audience makes the star. Thank goodness for that..
But opportunities are what we are talking here. Today Ranbir would be a has been if he did not have the Kapoor name based on his BO record. Abhishek, a thing of the past.

While outsiders face casting couches and insiders are handed jobs nepotism does exist.

Totally agreed. While it is the audience who decides whether a star kid gets to stay or not, the fact is outsiders don't even get enough opportunities to prove themselves to the audience for them to be judged fairly. Though I do like Alia Bhatt's acting, the fact is no outsider would get half of the opportunities she got to prove her talent. She deserves her space in BW definitely, but the fact is that she had a much easier time earning her spot in BW.

Why do these star kids give moronic arguments about nepotism. Nepotism exists. Period. It exists in every field and that's the truth. Families help family members to break into an industry, any industry if they can. Ofcourse they gotta be talented enough to sustain the job. But they get their biggest break handed to them on a silver platter while millions struggle even for one second of reel footage. That's the truth. That's Nepotism. Why can't these morons accept it. What's so hard to accept.

And all these ppl supporting these stars' stupid statements and saying 'oh nepotism doesn't exist stop coming for star kids' well imagine yourself working equally as hard as someone who's dad knows the person taking your interview for a job. You know you're equally as good or better but you don't even get an interview cause that other person with their father's connection gets it. They could be shit at their job but they get such a massive advantage. This noone can deny.

Very well said! I think you said what I wanted to say but you articulated it better 😆 No point though, everyone here seems to think Alia is the best thing ever and apparently shes above nepotism.

What BS logic. Alia being talented doesn't take away from the fact that she's a product of nepotism lol. How are the two related. Somebody could have been a better actress to launch with Student of The Year but Alia exclusively was booked for the movie. In fact, KJo himself admitted he practices Nepotism so what even is the argument. Did Alia struggle like millions do to break into Bollywood? No. It wasn't a level playing field. End of discussion.

And about Aishwarya. Its hard for outsiders to break in anyway and you won't even let them have looks? They gotta have something working for them. And she was a successful model, broke into advertising and won a pageant. ON HER OWN to enter Bollywood. Pray tell what Alia did to deserve a leading role other than having Mahesh Bhatt's name. Lol.

and the biggest example that its the audience and not the family who makes a star is Salman Khan himself...Salman and his siblings had the same parents . same opportunities growing up and yet Salman made it big time and his siblings did not...

Akshaye makes so much sense...u can launch a person ..u cannot make them a star..

I don't even understand why so much debate of nepotism in BW...its an industry where most of the money invested is private money...If tomorrow SRK or Akshay or Aamir want to launch their kids with their own money...why should they be blamed...doesn't everyone promote their own kids...if u had a family run business...would u promote ur own kids or bring someone from outside...

and if the kids are not worth it...audience will kick them out sooner or later.

Agreed but then some producers dont look beyond their own pool of star kids. Which makes the industry stagnate. There are so many talented kids outside who could do with a little push.

Its deffo risky but its worth looking for such talents.
