why does Maya always bang her head?

Hello guys,

She does this specifically on those occasions when she is snout to lose something or someone. This is what I have noticed.

I am not sure about it but I think Maya is a borderline personality disorder patient or I don't know exactly. Some of these psychological disorders have symptoms like repititive actions like words or an activity. So that might be it.

I noticed she bang hers head when she is scared, I wish we know the reason behind it soon

Yes even I feel it's a disorder and it's something to do with her mental issues because it has happened many times but it's weird how no one notices it or questions why she always bangs her head

so ever since beyhadh has started i have noticed when maya gets scared or when something happens that makes maya vulnerable, she starts to bang her head, it has happened numerous times for example ...

-in todays episode when she was banging her head against the seat

- the lift scene when she got trapped, she was banging her head against the elevator

- haldi episode when ashwin tried to put haldi, she ran to her room & was banging her head

- the first time jhanvi was in hospital for high sugar level, maya was banging her head on the door

- second time jhanvi was in hospital after trying to commit suicide, she was banging her head

- when arjun called maya in the basement about sach, she was scared & banging her head

there has been rare occasions when we saw jhanvi banging her head against the wall.

i seriously think this act has something to do with maya and her mental problem. does anyone have a suggestion as to why maya always bangs her head ??

Hi yes this thought has often crossed my mind.I really just like you want to know what's it and the cause

I think she does it when she is fearing for something.. remember first Ashiwn.. then darkness... then loosing arjun... all these are her biggest fears..

She bangs her head when she is scared or angry...
guess when the whole courtroom was making a mockery of her assault she felt angry...

i don't think writers thought of any specific reason as to why she does this. When people are scared, nervous, or anxious, they engage in some impulsive actions. This usually differs from person to person. Maya, we all know, is not mentally sound and as people have pointed out, her symptoms closely resemble that of a BPD patient. So it is quite expected this tendency will be heightened in her behaviour.

BTW. when I am nervous or scared, I do something similar while sitting so I can relate to her. And I don't think I have any mental disorder. Well atleast I hope so. 😕

She does it when she's experiencing some form of distress, anxiety, anger, pain or sorrow. Whenever she's about to lose someone if she can't afford to lose, whenever she's experiencing sorrow or pain, whenever she feels threatened that something about her, her past or what she's done could be exposed. In line with some of the personality disorders and mental health conditions.
