Janhvi Kapoor's Kanchivaram saree steals attention as she cheers for Manish Malhotra's Paris debut

Janhvi Kapoor drew attention at sister Anshula Kapoor and Rohan Thakkar's wedding reception with a traditional look that blended classic craftsmanship with contemporary styling. The actor chose a custom ensemble by Manish Malhotra for the family celebration, which was held in Mumbai and attended by several members of the Kapoor family and film personalities.

For the occasion, Janhvi wore a lavender Kanchivaram silk handwoven brocade saree featuring floral motifs, gold detailing and a richly woven border. Draped in a traditional style, the saree was paired with a strapless backless blouse, adding a modern touch to the otherwise timeless outfit. The combination quickly caught attention on social media after videos and photographs from the reception surfaced online.

She completed her look with statement jewellery, including a choker necklace, earrings, stacked bangles, rings and a decorative kamarbandh. A small embellished clutch complemented the outfit. Her makeup was kept subtle with dewy skin, glossy lips, defined eyes and a tiny bindi. Janhvi finished the look with a sleek centre parted braided bun.

Sharing pictures of her outfit on Instagram, Janhvi also penned a heartfelt note for designer Manish Malhotra, who made his debut at Paris Couture Week. She wrote, "Today, my godfather, my mentor, my guiding light, my safe space, and my most honest confidant, @manishmalhotra05, makes his debut at Paris Couture Week."

Explaining why the outfit was special to her, she added, "It feels especially meaningful to be wearing one of your beautiful creations today, as it shares the same sentiment of celebrating our mothers and our roots. An interpretation of the Kanchivaram sari, a weave native to my own maternal heritage, makes it even more special."

She concluded her message by cheering for the designer's milestone, writing, "Cheering you on from home while you create magic in Paris."
