"Is the issue that or the fact that Appa doesnt want to send him anyway?" he asked bluntly
"He thinks I cant do it" (Akka had told her the gist of the fight)
"And what do u think?" he asked
"i want him to visit" she was in tears
"Then u shud go see him and bring him" he said bluntly, mentally smiling gleefully at his FIL
"Everything is so complicated" he began to share something

(being a couple years older than II the wedding took too long to arrange with there being other financial and familial problems with that event)

"No... Amma said I should be going off again" she said

"I barely returned, Sam wants me to go over to her place for Karwa Chauth" she said
"Tomm is Sep 30th, its a month away II" he reminded her
"Akka is returning to Munirka, I am going to Iyer Navaratri at her house, and celebrating Ashtami at home, I am doing kanjak with 21 lil girls, FYI" she told him

"Ya, I am going out with Sam to buy outfits and bags for them all" she giggled "A lil dark pink outfit for Lasya, with a sparkly blingy purse" she laughed softly
Mahavir brought more roti for her, and lassi...
She shook her head when he asked for more subzi
"dad aa gaye?" she asked

"I caught ur fave guy smoking" she whispered
R&B laughed...
"He felt terrible" she smiled
"Now he is going to do it more boldly then" R&B concluded
"Are u coming home for Navaratri?" she went back to her topic, just as always
"I dont think so" he said firmly
"In that case tell me one good reason why I shouldnt hang up?" she cried
"U will miss my voice??" he offered
"LAME!" she said loudly, unable to control her tears
"I promise, I will see you soon"
"well I am not holding my breath" she hissed
they both were quiet for a while
"When are u bringing him home?" he asked
"When the hospital says its OK for him to go home"
"Whats the prognosis?" he asked
"His kidneys" she said
"Hes had a touch life hasnt he?" he said very somberly
"Very" II nodded in a whisper...
