ever since he has dared to throw kkg out of his car a zany game of revenge is on. we are in day two and new players join the fun.

the thief of lucknow aka snake as in shyam manohar jha enters the fray with a dramatic nifty necklace plan to throw khushi's life in disarray by getting her accused of being a thief.

well he is a purloiner himself, why would he not wish his paramour to be the same one might think. but here is the thing... she is not his lover. he is completely in la la land about that of course and sets up his trusting missus while filching the necklace himself.

this is just a love game mind you, all because he adores khushi ji. to understand this gobbledegook rationale one must be as twisted as the creepy smiler. in the meantime, the necklace does its own twist and slips away... just as anjali turns to look at shyam... a hint of ajeeb here, something says this isn't going to be a day like other days.

of course, anjali doesn't guess a thing. standing before the mirror, all she sees is what she longs to see, after all the thief has stolen her heart.
Anjali seemed quite wise in initial days of IPK. she handled all the situation meticulously. But don't know why she always became dumb in shyam's matter.
Did Shyam ever love Khushi! what kind of love it is what even made him to prove his beloved thief!

in lakshmi nagar, a ringing sound and a sleepy hand. someone is finding it hard to wake up. it's 9 am. not an early riser this hard working girl. but then she leaps out of bed and squeaks, "nau baj gaye!" it's nine already. sanaya looks terribly cute and i feel for kkg having to wake up early.. what was lovely was that she always slept till a little late and woke up after him... unlike the achhi bahus who sprint out of bed at the crack of dawn and wear their saree and layers of jewellery rushing off to be saviour of parivaar and parampara. this super girl sleeps late, dawdles while getting ready and talks nonsense, she also grumbles about silly things and loiters about with a toothbrush in mouth, brushing her teeth. how can one not lau her.

the ebullient tone of the episode has reached the super dramatic bua niece household. today even payal is playing a game. happy ji is her informant about her rajkumar. spurning the steed, he drives an automobile which needs to be serviced of course here in lakshmi nagar.

khushi appears, toothbrush in mouth. payal pretends to be busy with drying clothes not doing anything else out here really.

happy ji's smiling face pops up, " payal ji, akash ji shayad do din mein ayenge." akash will come by in a couple of days.

ooops.

lovely moment between two sisters. one is instantly alert, the other embarrassed. she is the calm sedate one, and she is now in the trap of love.

huh! frowns toothbrush rani aka jalebi bai as in miss khushi kumari gupta. wasn't there a better mechanic in the whole of delhi... why here? she is not very bright this morning, is she. payal hyperventilates. happy ji pouts at the subtext of khushi ji's sentence. the lady with the toothbrush ponders the issue, not minding her sis's advice to stick to the bathroom during ablutions.

"khushi! kitni baar kaha hai, brush bathroom mein kiya jata hai... aur tum ho ki poore ghar mein ghoom ghoom ke brush chabati rahti ho!" how many times have i told you brushing is done in the bathroom, and you are forever strolling around the house chewing on the brush!" (thanks, kizh, for saying you like the dialogue, had to add it.)

then khushi wolfs down breakfast standing, payal is restless and runs to the window to peak... is he here? bua ji bustles. a light slightly crazy air. all along a sense of something on the way.

enter the thief of lucknow. he lies and cheats and the necklace is in the bag...

"jaa rahe nahin... aate hain!" says payal to khushi. don't say i am going, say, i'll be back. almost as an amulet this little au revoir, it perhaps protects her younger sister. today she needs protection... there's enemy action against her.

and not  from the one she regards as enemy.

"achha baba aate hain..." oh all right, i'll be back.

in shantivan a tycoon buttons waistcoat, an air of slight disturbance. what ails him?

his combination has me in a flap... there's no one else i can think of who can carry off that mishmash of colours. but of course, gadbad tycoon couldn't care less, he just knows how to look fabulous. bas.

he is thinking of her. or to be precise, her assault on him. her jalebi bai and joooice and mishri tactics irk and madden.

slight movement of fiery brown irises. the buttoning continues but the mind is on one thing only.

suddenly overcome by an uncanny feeling, he stops and checks his pockets, pats them... she has him where she wants him i am chuckling. he is shaken if not stirred.

"jai prakash! ek baar mere shoes ko ulta karke check karo... kuch... hai toh nahin..." oh that divine pause after "kuch".

check my shoes, jai prakash, see if there's anything in them.

jp is instructed to keep an eye on who comes into the room while the tycoon is away. he is wary of her. i am delighted, she is not only on his mind, he senses her presence in the room. the fact that she was here when he wasn't around, doing things... sort of unsettles him. he is not yelling about it, he is not quite sure what he feels about this it seems to me. his room, his den, and this intruder slips in and out when he has no idea... isn't there something sexy in the very thought? something intimate?

"sach sach batao, tum nani ki jasoos ho na?" tell me the truth, la asks lakshmi, you're nani's spy, aren't you? in this season of play, even la of la la land is talking to a goat.

in a hilarious goofy scene, mami ji tries to get la to say stuff that would go down well with nani. la bungles, calls mami by her namewa instead of lakshmi. nani frowns. mami is frazzled. at this rate, when will her hopes of seeing her bitwa married materialise.

a gorgeous tycoon smoothly walks in. cut to shot from back and what's this? a bald patch?

in the mood of the episode, a little trick. it's the double. the fake asr... much like the fake lakshmi. those who love him know instantly, nahiiin that one is not the boy, no matter what the colour of his suit. an uncanny resemblance to the lakshmi mix up about to roll out.

he's in a rush and on his way out. door opens.

have you heard of the door gift?

well, she is standing there, eyes closed. praying and muttering to dm.

"itni kripa karna ki woh laad governor na mile..." be so merciful that i don't meet that laad governor.

he watches her stonily. something in his eyes, a surge in the music. that sense of topsy turvy, she has no idea he stands before her, looking at her with irritation, ire and a note of what is it? longing?

her hair does fly a bit though. some part of her always knows.

he side steps her and walks out.

when she opens her eyes, she senses something. a pause as she puzzles over the feeling. he turns and looks at her, does he want her to know? or is it because he can't help himself, he must take a look?
i think the last one, whenever she was around, he couldn't resist himself to give another look.

the tinkling notes of rabba ve come in. gentle, magical, tender. she does sense him, she turns, but he is gone.

a beautifully crafted serene moment in the middle of light froth much action. a place where the heart and gut talk and no one interrupts. you pause because you must, you can't just walk away. it's lovely to see how this feeling penetrates beyond even sanka devi's sanak, how it makes her stop and feel like a woman, for a while all other things about her set aside.

channe daal, moong daal, urad ki daal... la is learning about daal... mami is fretting about her lack of comprehension. i am wondering why this fairly empty sequence, unless there was some deep significance to all the mah ki daal papa ki daal and arnav ki daal stuff. well it went over my head. but again, i liked the silliness of it all. nothing was normal in this episode.
They literally showed La a dumb girl, what was really irking. Or by the way why La had to learn all the cooking and all. what she really needed to learn was family morals and values, what she didn't have initially. otherwise an Indian girl doesn't come to her boyfriend's place for live in. I was born and raised in the USA and we never saw this type of thing. even a decent american girl doesn't live with her boyfriend when he stays with his family. They sure have live in relationship, when they  live separately not with their parents.

the thief insists his raanisahiba wear her haar. would she? the first time i saw this i had no idea where that trick would lead.

but lakshmi of shantivan is about to turn the whole game. she is that unknown factor perhaps in every game. she is lakshmi after all, the goddess of wealth, the real wealth of our hearts.
Above all Laxmi was Khushi's friend.

khushi calls her "lakshmi!!!" no ji. she has no idea what unutterably fabulous wealth lakshmi has planned for her and she will stop at nothing to make sure khushi wins this round, gets that wealth.

khushi is in the lion's den, talking to herself, a laptop in her hands. telling herself not to fear, that laad gov is not here, "chaude hokar chal."

as she sets down the laptop, something strange... the laptop is broken. and even as she gawks at it, a pair of shoes right by her that were not supposed to be there.

why had he returned, i wondered. could it be because that restless uncanny feeling pulled him? he said to himself he'd go and see if she was ruining his happiness with some plan again, but really maybe one part of him just wanted to see her. i don't know, but really why did he come back?
really what was the reason! His mind always said that he hated her, but his heart always said something else.

not a normal day at all.

a tilt up to reveal enraged asr. a fist is tightened, a girl gulps. music careens ... what's going to happen.

"kaafi talent hai tum me," he whips out, "baar baar mujhe surprise karne ka." you have plenty talent in you to surprise me again and again.

angry. he is really angry.

he is menacing and mean and clenching his teeth. the temerity of thsi girl throws him completely. it also infuriates him. no one. no one behave with him in this manner.

"tum ho kya cheez.. aur jo bhi ho khud ko samajhti kya ho?" what are you? and whatever you are who do you think you are. he bears down on her, insulting and threatening. he is sure she has broken his laptop.

he insinuates she bites the hand that feeds her and she is sneaky, she has deliberately broken his computer. slow comprehension in her.. he is talking about her social status. her place in the house..her eyes cloud with a mix of emotions. he is brutal and aggressive.
The insinuation was terrible. ASR was too mean to Khushi. Since the day they met he has been insinuating her like this. He was really not nice with her.

what did she think? "kissi ko pata nahin chalega!" no one would know!

"h...humne yeh..." she begins to stammer out that she hasn't broken the thing.

"shut up!" he roars.

"main abhi baat kar raha hoon aur meri baat koi kaatta nahin hai!" i am still talking and no one interrupts me! oh he is in supreme tycoon frame. absolute gadbad tycoon.

"main tumhe achhi tarah pahchanta hoon!" i know you very well, he asserts. does he?

he accuses her of all the things he has figured out she's done. she has done all that and made him a laughing stock... sabke saamne mera mazaak banaya.

"ab meri laptop ko haath lagane ki himmat kaise hui..." how dare you now touch my laptop. oh he is uncontrollably angry. he is not in a sporting mood at all. she has belittled arnav singh raizada. he won't spare her.
He was nasty and I was so angry on him.

don't try to lie, i know your status and type... calls her "do kaudi ki ladki"... along with teh anger there seems to be an unleashing of pent up things... and he wants to get a response from her.

he wants the fight, i get the feeling.

"kabhi kabhi toh mujhe aise lagta hai ki dhoka dena aur jhoot bolna tumhare khoon mein hai!" sometimes i think cheating and lying are in your blood.
How could he stoop so low to degrade her family!

he is definitely prodding for a return. this jibe gets to her you can see. he is intense and angry. she is nonplussed and slowly the anger is mounting. a head on collision and a beauty in it. sanaya and barun seem to flow together whether dancing or warring.

"kissike paas paisa hota hai, kissike paas power, kissi ke paas naam, tumhare paas toh kuch bhi nahin hai..."

some have money, some power, others name, you have nothing.

he is getting deeper, becoming more and more insulting, losing hold over his tongue completely... why does she get to him so much? he doesn't wonder, he just hits out.

finally she replies, furious, if i had to write a book on my "aukat", i'd certainly come to you. aap ke paas... i hear him saying mere paas mere saath. paas, yes, always near him, he near her, even when they are far away, even when they are not friends, even when he lives in with someone else, even when she thinks he is morally bereft. even anything... always paas.

he is incensed at the interruption.

"shut up!!" he explodes, she almost cowers...

and then a turn in the game. hand clenches kurta, a resolve is sought, a surprise comeback... "aap shut up!" says khushi kumari gupta.

my favourite dialogue of the episode. so perfectly khushi and really enchanting, especially sanaya's delivery.

aap shut up indeed.

he is shocked.

her temper also has gone beyond a point... almost hysterical now she says, let me make those allegation true, let me break your laptop some more.

he whips out a hand and catches her arm flinging it away, a violence in the room, a skirmish... heat finally flaring out of control and catching fire...

he doesn't let go of her arm. a struggle, a battle royal in fact, ensues. who will succumb.

just two nights ago they had fought, he had had to go back to make sure she was fine... she had sensed him... and he couldn't rest till he knew she was safe.

but nothing is placid and predictable in their story. it's being written all the time by wind sound gussa sanka and the all knowing rabba. its twists and turns take them to places neither had ever thought they'd reach...

the magnificent chemistry of the two actors hold me still. such a bated sense of violent attraction there. even more exciting because neither has identified it for what it is yet.

"chhotey..." it's anjali. the only one who is not playing any game. she is a mere pawn and totally unaware of that of course. i had hoped she'd turn the tables on all and show that she is in fact a powerful queen, but that was not to be.

he lets go of her hand and those angry welts are there on her wrist made... her payal, earrings, dupatta seem loathe to leave him and his fingers have a way of marking her every time.

this time, khushi is too angry to hide anything, ask your brother she tells anjali, what he is saying, i don't understand his tongue.

he is scathing too, the girl you have employed is trying to break my things. he takes it to money... she won't even know the price of this..

she cuts in, won't be more than a human being's surely!

"enough!" he yells.

the mercury is high, anything might happen

and in yet another twist it is revealed di has broken the computer.

a stunned moment of realisation. he had jumped to the wrong conclusion. his eyes change tone, a little taken aback? perhaps a hint of remorse? but not really. she has riled him too much.

he recovers quickly when he hears his sister apologise to khushi. not one chance against his opponent will be missed. he calls her a servant and is ugly in his choice of words.

"di, aapko isse sorry bolne ki koi zaroorat nahin hai. yeh aapki naukar hai... aapki di hui salary se hghar chalta hai isska..."

di, you don't have to say sorry to her, she is your servant... her home runs with the salary you give her.

that is downright nasty and insulting. if he really thinks people who work for you should be treated that way, well then i'll have to say there's something about asr i don't like at all. but something tells me, he is saying this to get to her... that's all.
I just couldn't accept it. first he degraded her family and then he called her servant. he was so disgusting.

anjali is stunned.

he marches out...

but he had seen the tears in her eyes, the look on her face... he couldn't care less... or could he?... he had to stop. and in a scene reminiscent of the earlier one at the door, here again at the doorway to his room, his world, a similar palat... and registering of her hurt this time... in his eyes.

he couldn't walk away... rabba ve.

shyam is practicing his bizarre charade. aaargh he hugged her picture to his heart. someone decimate him.

in 75, the roller coaster ride reaches a sublime slant. hold on tight.

Nice one.
ASR was the nastiest in this episode. When i see these episodes i really feel now that how much Khsuhi had to endure. He was really a monster. a mean, narrow minded tyrant. he was damn hot and sexy in that phase, but his attitude was so wrong.I wonder how Khushi fell in love with such a monster, who hurt and  insulted her so much.

all the blue lines are my favorite and my comments are in purple.

sohara,

thanks so much for reading 74. yes, at times asr was unconscionably harsh and showed signs of being truly obnoxious. all that he said about "naukar" if he really believed that at any point of any servant, well he deserves to be loathed for it. but i wonder if he really believed such things or did khushi, who was breaking down his barriers and encroaching his defenceless parts, trigger this violent abhorrent reaction in him. he was fighting her without knowing why and she too was horrified at this vehement assault. though even she for some reason could not walk away. this was never a politically correct love story, but it seemed to understand the nature of this feeling we call love and also its powerful positive effect on us. as well as its negative impulse at times.

maybe deep down khushi's instincts knew this man was roaring because he really was powerless before her. who knows.

but yeah, he was terrible in this episode. hurt her badly. maybe that's why what followed in 75 touched us so much.

and this same guy refused to have the whole world accuse her of burning him, he who just a while ago had said she was a servant and a liar and was breaking his computer deliberately...

i kept seeing a violent play of emotion within him rather than the actual actions before our eyes. i think she was totally taken aback as well as horrified by his behaviour but she sensed that inner play too.

episode 76

when i think of this episode right in the middle of an eventful day with all sorts of not too normal things afoot, what comes to mind are a) black mark, b) a girl talking animatedly to a goat and c) a man looking at a girl with an unfathomable but stirring look in his eyes.

a black mark on a goat, not the "asli lakshmi" but the other one and a black mark on a man's cheek, did both in some way relate to khushi? right through, starting from 75 shyam is doing all he can to put a black mark on khushi's integrity. i wonder is that why we had so much daal play in 75? because one of the most top of mind connection to daal is "daal mein kuch kala hai," meaning there's something a little off, not quite right in the situation.

shyam has mounted an offensive to stain khushi's reputation. and suddenly for no apparent reason we see the man who has openly accused her of being underhand walking into frame with a big ugly mark on his cheek, possibly from the gardening. "mooh kala", isn't that another allusion to bringing shame to oneself? but one can ask why should asr's mooh be kala if it's khushi's face that is about to be attacked? i have no clear answer, yet it's nice to think, at one level perhaps a connection is hinted at: if khushi's reputation is harmed, his is too. of course, they have no idea themselves that they are becoming part of each other, but maybe a connection unknown is building anyway, a creative take on that this may have been.

the episode built relentlessly toward the last sequence. the most painful one where khushi would actually agree to have her bag checked by mami. although everyone made the right noises about the horrible allegations by mami, khushi decided she would give in to the demand.

i asked myself why didn't nani or anjali stop this, but i think i would have insisted too if someone openly cast aspersions on my integrity like that. khushi had so many things about her that made her feel real.

so real and also endearing, that when she started talking earnestly to a goat, you didn't roll your eyes and reach out for some darkly biting comments, instead you watched slightly entranced, somewhere along the way you thought sanaya was such a neat actress and yeah she could make even picking up a goat and hugging it in the middle of the road and chatting look wonderful.

that scene of hers running about and calling out to lakshmi, then asking a hapless man if he'd seen this fair one who goes "main main", then locating her and charging relieved to catch her and tell her, how would your mother feel about this... was pure khushi and refreshing zany just the right amount of goofy. i wish asr had seen her doing this. we'd have "i love you dammit" then and there. or at least a heart stopping "paagal".

nani's love for lakshmi is touching. a woman widowed pretty early and then the blow of losing her only daughter, who has always borne the responsibility of keeping her family together, who is stoic about things that crush her, maybe lakshmi is her one outlet, a pliant though frisky and playful quadraped who is warm and loving, who shakes her ears when nani ji pets her, who hangs about without demanding anything and who makes nani smile with her antics. this relationship has plenty love and selflessness.

and though nani doesn't know it, her lakshmi will save khushi, her bahu to be also considered lakshmi of the home. in khushi's finding and rescuing lakshmi perhaps another hint that the true wealth of the raizada home will always be safeguarded and protected by khsushi. while i am not into all this heavy duty symbolism and these things often feel laboured, yet the lightness of touch of sanaya's acting and the vibe between jayashree t, sanaya irani, sana khan, daljeet kaur, utkarsha naik and even jai prakash added a nice sense of significance to the scene.

of course, la accepting khushi as a friend was lovely. i have always found something endearing and vulnerable in la... she is a girl with potential. not a mean girl, in a way uncomplicated and there was always a generosity of spirit in her, evident when she was not feeling threatened in any way. she was also in many ways what you see is what you get. just as she could screech if this chamkili is expected to teach me anything i will leave this house, similarly she could stick out her hand and offer friendship the moment she felt khushi had gone beyond the call of duty to help her.

sana khan was rather cute here, she looked genuinely worried for kkg, she being completely scared of nani ji's sharp tongue. and despite nani ji's not at all kind words to her, i have to say, she actually did not want to lie about lakshmi and present another goat. that was all hello hi bye bye, the one who was forever trying to manage the "horror film" that too in "3d" which her life with sasu ma apparently was. phew poor mano, jai prakash, please hurry up and give her some tea, interval hui gawa.

well they say many films are good only up to the interval. here, a precious moment came soon after in fact. in it a couple of quiet rabba veys.

asr, still in those lose trousers and dark shirt, now a waistcoat on, strolled out and the first thing he saw was the patch up between the two girls. khushi's charming assertion that now that la and she were friends la could call her what she pleased showed again a sunny strong side of her nature. wonder if it touched him.

she turned and saw him, she seemed disconcerted and also a trifle entranced. he was definitely in a funny sort mood, just standing there looking at her when she noticed that black mark. neither spoke. she pointed, he frowned, she pointed at her own cheek, he wiped the wrong side. maybe she wanted to reach out and...

anyway la came along and no qualms at all started to erase the mark, her fingers very comfortable on his face as though they were quite used to touching him. they were. and that was perhaps the thing.

a scene from a mandir at teej played in my mind, kkg striking the match again and again after seeing asr open la's fast. another scene from la's home when he went to take her back, as she watched them in each other's arms, an unbidden tear rolling out of khushi's eye, streaming down.

today though the emotions in the look she gave him as she turned back were a little different and so too the appraisal of his, both had been touched by the harshness earlier in the day, the flying into rage, the flinging of arm and tea and then the moment of ajeeb by the poolside.

sanka debi had touched laad governor in an indescribable but unforgettable way. rakshas had moved rajkumari and left a little mark in her. a reflective yet stirred feel to their gazes, their concentration on each other.

even mami's interrogation and egregious bag check couldn't suppress the carefree happy feeling within me. like lakshmi probably felt standing bang in the middle of traffic and chomping fresh leaves.

shyam got khushi's most beautiful palat sadly, but this one was tender and pretty too and sanaya said many things with her eyes. was she wondering why she didn't want to yell at laad governor? why she couldn't really talk in front of him as if loathe to mar the peace between them; and also a little shy she seemed to be.

Can't say enough how happy I am that you're doing these episodes! There's so much in these. I loved that brief interlude between them. She did seem a bit shy, didn't she, after that full on sankafied "humey maaf kijiye please (kkg said a lot of please & sorry then). I liked that she moved away feeling they needed their privacy, but then can't help looking back and he couldn't take his eyes off her too. Hayee re nandkissore!😆
Edit: Pleaaase do the next one too!

hi kizh,

thank you. that look of hers, even his... something delicate there, isn't it? a mild awkwardness and a tender air to it, like neither wants to destroy the moment, which is what they usually do.

she was lovely. yes, after that wailing humey maaf kar dijiye, perhaps a little shy. a new sort of feeling in both of them. was she even sort of trying to be at ease aboout the fact that the man belongs to that girl who has just become her friend. there was much after interval hui gawa.

mano was so mano in this one... 😆

i will do 77 tomorrow, yes. must do all the episodes so that no one is left in any doubt as to my lunacy. 😃

he is often angry, but when he is angry with her there is an intensity there that's not seen otherwise, almost an involvement. his body bends a certain way, his fingers jab air, his face grows stormy, his eyes burn as though wanting to annihilate her, consume her, touch her. nothing is held back. an emotion is clearly at the root of this. we never get so mad at people who don't matter. my mother used to say, i get angry with you because i love you, i don't get angry at the passerby. twisted it sounded when i was a kid but really that is the point.

in 74, asr's state of dil shows itself again and again, just that he has no idea what's happening. even the way he checks his pockets to see if she's planted something in them speaks of it, that wary look in his eyes, an unusual uncertainty (i know i haven't found the right words, but you know what i am trying to say). i think in these episodes again a level is cleared and his emotions take a deeper hold of his heart and mind. that first meeting at sheesh mahal, then the first rabba ve, their moments of unmitigated awareness and nearness in the rain, the panic of guest house, bersarai's seething silence, teej's compulsion, the storeroom's pounding heat, the breathtaking surprise in a cupboard... "khushi!" one by one a feeling has entered and scaled to capture its quarry. and now it's slipping into all sorts of places within him, he has no control. she can sense him all the time, he is in her thoughts too. she can's leave him and go away to lucknow, she can't feel "theek" after yelling at him, she can "mehsoos" him even when her eyes don't see him and when he hurts her it hurts more somehow. much more.

these were the tender heady explosive days of falling in love... totally dense and teeming with emotion and yet frothy and full of fun, a sexy kind of fun. in between sublime beautiful moments. romance is not exactly a new genre, but the way ipk and asr khushi told the story, it just reached another place within me. and stayed.

Awesome perception.
We say khushi is strange, but ASR was more strange.
ASR tried so hard to hate khushi. He abused her, insinuated her, insulted her, disparaged her, even physically hurt her. He tried to annihilate her, ravaged her with nastiest way, denied her existence. Sometimes he was just meanest to the extreme. But His biggest defeat was that, the low aukat larki incessantly invaded his thought. His high class girlfriend could not reside his heart, imstead the greedy girl from low class family encompassed hIs heart. How much he boasted about his class and money, but he actually was a loser. He had to struggle hard to hate her. As a result she had to endure his extreme loathe. But the irony is every time he had to contrite after misbehaving her. Maybe that was his punishment to hurt an innocent girl. As I have been watching the initial episodes again, i am realizing how ASR was unreasonably nasty to khushi. And my heart is lurching painfully more for khushi.
On the other hand khushi was supposed to hate him, but instead she fell in love with the rakshas.
Maybe the love was inevitable between them that's why in spite of so much acrimony they couldn't stop loving each other.

thanks, sohara...

yes, you are abs right, they were meant to fall in love so they did. i can tell you from my real life experience, love is way beyond logic, it is extra rational and a call from within and even when someone is totally nasty, you still can't help yourself at times. it is from that perspective i get why khushi felt that pull toward him... he felt the same... it's a parallel conversation almost between hearts and the instincts of two people.

and this is why also i feel asr can forgive khushi when she brings shyam back or puts him through hell on birthdays... love really is not a politically correct emotion. it finishes you off, you think you'll die but then breath rushes back and there's a new energy in it and when you look around, you are often surprised, you even find things you never ever thought existed.

and it is an abiding thing, sitting in you even when everything says it's over. i liked how ipk felt and understood this feeling. it never painted a superimposed "expected" picture, it actually seemed to allow two characters to find the feelings erupting in them.

honestly, deep love is deadly and yet it is what makes your heart beat with happiness and a funny sort of hope.

you feel bad for khushi. i feel bad for asr. we rave and rant and say how can she/he do this, but they are just totally at peace only when they are with each other. ha ha. but yes, he was harsh and really pretty impossible to forgive often at times... and even that forced wedding, the way he suffocated and threatened her... bad. but then, this is the craziness of love.

i keep hearing about sweet always understanding love, i have never met it... and now, bad me, i don't even really want to.

my only "if only" wish... if only they had kept khushi intact and let us enter their relationship with even more empathy.

really fine character etching going on. every move, every turn seems to have meaning and there's no dissonance or disruption in character as such despite story's shortcomings. i know i will say the apology to khushi for bringing shyam is unbearable, and yet, i felt barun made it seem as though asr could do it... just because he loved her so much... did all he could to understand and find forgiveness, focussed on his di's well being and overcame his habitual anger. at a subconscious level there is maybe an undeniable tug toward khushi, that feeling he has for her is most important. he needs her and needs perhaps also to be at peace with her, as lovers often do. people put up with much worse for a feeling they identify as love. we have seen khushi tolerate a lot too, oh that lovely hawaaon se unki baatey soliloquy.

but with khushi now, alas, they lost the girl. yes, that high handed unilateral decision re shyam then the justifying of it in that tone, i missed khushi in all of this. a certain petulance in the character now which is just not khushi.

thanks for liking the edits, the green brown and the only brow both were posted for team sobtians, he he.

Indi, agree with you at many levels, esp those in red... great phrase.. "finding forgiveness".. becos he can't otherwise. After the cliff top, after coming inches close to death and separation .. nothing justifies either being permanently angry with the other...he needed to make peace with her.. after that outburst about why she came into his life at all... or now..
I was disappointed not exactly with that apology, he owes her an apology for talking rude what ever the matter, so fine.. but  post that his "thanks".. for bringing Shyam back?? He didn't need to thank her... perhaps that was a tiny directorial glitch.. but when we cared every word that came or didn't come from his mouth.. that thanks didn't sit well with me..
Khushi was permanently lost after that birthday fiasco..

Dated material...

I Lost Him.. in this Shyam Centric Script!!  (Thanked: 9 times) Sept 12, 2012.

No... ..two kisses.. and three rabba ves...wouldn't make up for the lost soul of the characters that was once an integral part. Last couple of days it was Khushi's turn to play dumb and defy all logic in inviting Shyam into RM. Would/ should anyone be comfortable with leaving their so called beloved sister eating, sleeping, roaming around freely with a criminal? We perhaps shouldn't be questioning her intelligence and altruistic intentions... as naniji gave her the accolade of being the "acchi bahu" yesterday!

If Khushi was the one to initiate, ASR disappointed me to the core when he said "Di is happy... that's all what matters.. thanks Khushi"... .. that moment I lost the man...who once up on a time wouldn't mince words to convey what he believes in in the face.. ...or who wouldn't hesitate to take ANY action to achieve the end result he desires...after what all has happened, is it so tough to show these two to wonder/ worry how to deal with a criminal roaming freely in the house.. to sit and plan to expose Shyam? After 15 months and endless atrocities, we still see ONLY and ONLY Shyam to be the one in all control!! Why? Why?

It is tragic to see ASR act like a love stuck teenager blissfully oblivious to the hard realities around him which unfortunately have already bitten him... ... that mighty ASR.. i dearly loved...  may NEVER come back... lost in this compulsive desire of the makers to always give Shyam the upper hand! Their efforts to resuscitate the old charm are evident, but they have to realize that it is the characters that they have to resurrect without which the rabba ves will be hollow!
