You know I am perfectly capable of saying Shahid should stick to Gandibaat and not try anything lofty as Shakespeare if he had even been just good. 😛. In fact my initial reaction to be perfectly honest was "Shahid aur Shakespeare, woh bhi Hamlet, thekthe hain" . This is one of the best roles ever in the history of literature and some of the greatest actors have played this role. So the expectations are sky high even it is based on Hamlet and especially if they throw in Kashmir making it more complex. There are so many reasons this film could have failed than work and even if it is a great script and has a great supporting cast, Haider has to work for the film to work.

The best way to shut people who doubt you is performance and did he bring it out. He did not just act, he became the character. I did not see Shahid on screen, I saw Haider. It only happens very rarely especially in BW. The closest I can come in recent times to compare is PC in Barfi. So totally out of character of what I thought she was capable of. When a performance is not just good or even great you know. It will be mentioned in their obituary kind 😆. I am just amazed that Shahid did this and especially having so many ups and downs. I have nothing but great things to say about him and it was all him, not just me exaggerating anything.

Mind blown! wonderful movie and such class performances!! the way the music of Aao Na was used to lift the mood of the scene...brilliant, sheer brilliance this was.

i just wish it was a lil shorter..2 hours, 40 minutes can be a tiresome length for any movie.

someone please tell me the translation of Shraddha's song..I love the song, it's my most fav from the album but after watching it in the movie..i wanna know the meaning of it!
