None of the above

Babruvahana - son of Arjun/Chitrangada, who killed Arjun in battle during the Ashwamedha yagna, b4 Uloopi brought him back to life.

Also, Arjun lost his last battle against some bandits, while he was escorting the Yadava survivors back to Mathura

Bhisma - cuz he almost defeated Parushoram😆
Karna if he had been on the right side I think had the potential to defeat Arjuna. Its the potential we have to credit since they were never truly in a full form fight (i.e. no handicaps on either side like curses). Even Duryodhana was a great warrior! Then there is the lost future...like Abhimanyu, who was killed unfairly by the some of the "finest" warriors of that age... Gototkoch...too...and Arjuna & Chitrangada's son did best Arjuna, but maybe Arjuna was past his prime by then😳

Let the debate con't on... like the debate of who is the most upstanding character of Mahabharata

Bheema...He always protected his brothers...he had strength of thousanda of elephanta in his hands...He used mace to fight many a times he fought with his two hands...no weapons required for him to fight... He protected his brothers everytime...be it Hidimba, Kirmira, Bakasura, Jatasura, Jarasandh,Kichaka, all the kauravas 100 of them...Duryodhana was always jelous of Bheema that is why he wanted to kill Bheema...Pandavas were proud of his strenght...
I always admired him as the most powerful warrior...Dhritarashtra was also afraid of Bheema when he took oath to drink blood from Dushasana chest and smash duryodhana's thigh...

Agreed Bheem's physical strength was matchless among the rest. One can surely argue about him being the most powerful because nobody's physical strength was as great as his.

Bhishma was never defeated. Arjun went with Shikhandi and Bhishma kept aside his weapons as he could never attack a female. Later he was attacked with plenty of arrows aimed by Arjun. So how can a warrior be acclaimed defeated in case he never fought. About his Iccha-mrityu boon, it was extremely painful for him.

Bheeshm was the most powerful of all after that I would say Eklavya then Karan arjun both of them were at the same level and Bheem and Balram Duryodhan was at same level Ghatotkach was also powerful

Bheesham himself took training from Shri Parshuram and he was un conqureed by Parshuram so if could faught with him then he had to be that powerful

I agree w/ this one - Bhima. If one puts aside Babruvahana as a 1 battle wonder, the greatest warrior was Bhima. Not only did he always protect his brothers - in the Kurukshetra war, he protected any warrior on his side & always led from the front - unlike Arjun, he didn't have any misplaced loyalties to Bheeshma or Drona or anyone else. Like on day 14, unlike Arjun, who told Drona that the latter was his guru, not his enemy, Bhima confronted Drona and defeated him. (All the serials that show Bhima losing to Drona & Karna were bakwas - never happened. Bhima only lost to Jayadrath on day 13 due to Jayadrath's boon from Shiva)

On day 15, after Drona's death, Ashwatthama unleashed the Narayanastra, and Krishna told the Pandava army to surrender b4 it, or else the astra would destroy them all. Everybody in battle did it, except Bhima, who vowed to confront it alone. As a result of this, everyone else was saved, as the astra took its attention off everyone else and attacked Bhima, and Krishna & Arjun had to forcibly disarm him.

And after the massacre of the entire Pandava army by Ashwatthama, Bhima took on the responsibility of confronting him, despite what he had pulled off, and Ashwatthama released the Brahmashira against him, which Arjun countered. Once those 2 were matched & redirected, Bhima confronted him again and so did Krishna. Ashwatthama removed his jewel & surrendered.

Arjun it can be said, despite the Gita, and despite Krishna dismounting his chariot to fight himself, can be assumed not to have taken the war seriously until Abhimanyu was killed. On day 14, Arjun wiped out 7 of the 11 Kaurava akshaunis - that was what he was capable of in one
day, and yet, was unable to do in the first 13 days.

Big 5 On Chariot:
1. Bhishma (he ruled more than half the war)
2. Karan, Arjun (encounter record 1-1, Arjun won in Matsya war, Karan got the upper hand in Kurukshetra, I don't count the brawl in draupadi's sawyamvara since it's a chaos & no chariot, Overall Arjun got more kill record but Karan just joint the war in 11th day. We could say Arjun's stamina could be lower already when they met, but Karan was at least 5 yr older than Arjun)
3. Abhimanyu, Bhagadatta (w/ elephant) (both needs more than 1 warrior to take them down, even in the conquest Arjun couldn't beat Bhagadatta)
4. Drona, Ashvatthama, Satyaki (each has their part & time of doing destruction)
5. Bheem, Drishtadyumna (quite destructive on chariot with bow and arrow, despite both were never considered as master archer)

Big 5 On Foot:
1.Ghatotkach (he likes to jump to opponent's chariot to decapitate them directly, that's insane)
2.Duryodhan (best mace fighter)
3.Bheem (2nd best mace fighter & top scorer killing on foot maybe)
4.Nakul (the most handsome warrior yet brutally decapitated 2000 enemy soldiers with sword and shield only after his chariot was destroyed by Vrishasen son of Karan)
5.Salya, (the old uncle could take on Bheem with mace)

The most well balanced warrior:
Bheem! See, he's on both categories!

Wow! Superb Analysis! Loved it!

Oh Wow! Did not know this about Bheem! Thanks for the info!

For me its between Bheeshma and Karna.

Between the two I feel that Bheeshma scores higher due to the age factor. He was almost 25 when Satyawati , the pandava's grndma married Shantanu 😆. His age did not seem to diminish his valour or skill. He remained undefeated till the end so Bheeshma has to be the greatest of them all 😛
