Between the two I feel that Bheeshma scores higher due to the age factor. He was almost 25 when Satyawati , the pandava's grndma married Shantanu 😆. His age did not seem to diminish his valour or skill. He remained undefeated till the end so Bheeshma has to be the greatest of them all 😛

Absolutely right 😊 Bheeshm was the greatest in physical strength as well as strength in character
his only mistake was his Bheeshn Pratigya and I personnaly think that he was more caring about the singhasan and not at all about the praja of hastinapur and he let drapupadi vastra haran be happened which was wrong from all level he was a grand father in law from this level he was head of the family from this level he was a man a human from this level he was a sholdier and it is his duty to protect a girl from being raped he should have gotton the 100 kauravs arrested as far as draupadi case is concerned he failed entirely SO I STILL DO NOT UNDERSTAND HIS HESITENCY IN PROTECTING A GIRL FROM SUCH AN UGLY EPISODE.

but one more person was a great warrior unfortunately from whom the right to fight was snatched away by none pother then rishi Drone and that was Eklavya who was the only person who saw the entire mahabharat but with his beheaded head which had fallen on top of a mountain. Sorry don't remember the entire story read about it a long time back.

He learnt the art of archery from Drone by watchign him teach the kauravs and pandavs when dronacharya saw this that eklavya is much better then arjun he asked for guru dakshina from eklavya and that was the thumb of his right hand so that he can never never use archery or fight in any war.

There is one more story of Eklavya that one day a dog was barking and to stop him from doing that he used his archery and filled dog's mouth wwith bows till he stopped barking without killing him or injurying him that for me is bravery and compassion and kindness too respect for living being so for me Eklavya was a greated warrior then Arjun.

But Karan and Arjun I find equally good not more or less they were equal.

Bheem and Duryodhan were equal and Duryodhan died due to Krishanji

if fact Pandav win this war only due to Krishanj and many of his lies and deceipt but
since dharm was on their side

due to this we cannot say who was more powerful who was less it is very difficult
similarly Drupad and his son were very powerful Bheem's son Abhimany were very powerful nakul sehdev each of theese guys were maha rathis

^^ yes MB is full of Maharathis. Each character is interesting blend of positive as well as negative characters. 😊 All the complicating oaths, circumstances , vendetta, and envy that gets interwoven into the epic makes it truly an all time great!

Yes, that is true.

The Pandavas and Kauravas had equally good warriors in the form of Bhima, Arjuna, Bhishma, Duryodhana, Karna, etc.

In fact, the Kaurava side probably had stronger warriors, but the Pandava side had strength of character along with strength of arms, which is why Lord Krishna supported them.

It is not strength of arms itself that makes one victorious, not just in battle but all other parts of life, it is also strength of character and the deeds one does. One must keep friends with moral people, or else you'll end up like Karna who was good at heart, but had been swayed by the bad influence of his friends.

Agreed. His Guru lord Parashuram and even death couldn't defeat him. He departed on his will. Unconquerable till the very end.

@ janaki nicely put 👏as u said tht karna met bad fate at the end coz he was swayed by the influence of his friends... so do u think arjun and other pandavs had a good fate ?
their own childern were killed in the war arjun carried the burden of killing his own near and dear one in the war didnt he carried this guilt throught his life...and at the end he didnt even reached to heaven he died somewhere in the midway and as per the legend arjun and other pandav died in the mid way while travelling towards himalaya actually noone remember how arjun and other pandav died... while karna died like a warrior in the war he die like a matry we remember arjun as great warrior equilavent to karna and eklavya..nothing much... whereas.karna is remembered for his greatness geneoursity and valour ...isnt it?

i hope u dont mind me quoting u i m not arguing i m plainly curious thts y asking 😳

If we think about it, no one really had a good fate in the Mahabharat, not even Lord Krishna! Embarrassed They all had pretty tragic ends, and I guess the Kauravas died in the battlefield because there was no other way for the Pandavas to regain their throne. True, their sons all died so it's not like they had a super happy future ahead of them, but the main purpose of the Mahabharat was for Dharma to be re-established in the world. As Lord Krishna said, "Dharma Sansthaapa Naarthaaya Sambhavaami Yuge Yuge." So even the good people had to make sacrifices in order for this to happen.
The Pandavas had to survive the war only to raise Abhimanyu's son Parikshit, I guess, otherwise they too did not have much to live for. In the end, although they all died on a mountain except for Yudhisthira, they ultimately became one with the paramatma. So maybe they did not die a warrior's death, but because of their pious deeds, they reached Lord Krishna's abode which none of the Kauravas could achieve upon death.

Karna, he was the most powerful of them all but he was cursed to forget all his skills when he actually required them to save his own life in battleground, correct? That's where Arjuna wins one over him.

I woul ve said karan if not for the gruesome way abhimanyu was killed... I would ve said Arjuna if not for killing karan when he was unarmed. Warrior is not great just by virtue of his skills. He is judged by his temparament, dedication and justice too. So for me, it was bheeshma and abhimanyu. Abhimanyu is there along with bheeshma cause at that young age, he took on single handedly so many maha rathis like karan, drona, duryodhan and others. His death makes me so damn furious! The brave brave boy!

Karna is definitely one of the most powerful warriors. But I don't think karan agreed to that. He promised kunti that he wouldn't harm any of her sons except Arjun. He said that either way, you will have five of your sons alive. He went to the verge of killing each of the pandavas other than Arjun and let them go.
