Samriddhi Mehra opens up on Chhoriyan Chali Gaon: “I didn’t know I had a twin until I was 5”

She revealed that she didn’t know she had a twin sister, Surabhi, until she was around five years old. Due to growing up in a very orthodox family, the sisters were separated at birth. Samriddhi lived with her mother, while Surabhi was sent away simply because they were both girls. It was only after their mother stood up to the family and fought back against the old-fashioned beliefs that the two sisters were finally reunited.

My sister never got to experience a mother’s love during those early years. But our mom stood up for us; she fought with the entire family to bring us together. I met my sister for the first time when I was 5. When she came home, I didn’t even know I had a sister who looked exactly like me. Since that day, our bond has been unbreakable. Our mom is everything for us.”
