Yeah the taxi driver point seems plausible. Also, some dream come true onscreen seeing a taxi driver marry a heiress and even kiss her before confessing love for her!

I guess Sunny Deol must've got similar benefit when truck drivers saw a truck driver patao and marry a convent educated beautiful madam ji in Gadar.

Everyone else was into urban roles. Desi roles were less so this one must've struck a chord with those in hinterlands.
