Hi friends,
I am sure we would all agree that initially Charu was shown as a lovely person always willing to help people around her (though she did use people's weakness for her own benefit) ' I wanted her track to end on a positive note ' therefore I created this OS
It has 8 parts : I am posting the first part now 😉
PART I ... Oblivion
The room is silent but filled with the subtle sound of the air conditioner ... the Nurse dips the soft flannel into a bowl of warm water and gently wipes down Charu's still body lying on the hospital bed ...
The Nurse reflects ... "What a pretty girl! Such lovely eyes and lips ... Never thought she would survive the fall ... how her parents are suffering ... God must have heard their prayers and saved her ... I hope she regains consciousness soon ... "
Almost a month ago, Charu was admitted into the intensive care unit in a critical condition with a shattered rib cage, punctured lungs and a single deep gash on her head ... The life giving tubes have long since been removed and she is now in the ward ... however she still has not regained consciousness ...
Suddenly the Nurse feels a twitching movement in the patient's finger ... the Nurse drops the wet flannel into the bowl with a splash and waits patiently to see whether the patient would again show any further movement ... and her patience is rewarded by the very slight lifting of Charu's fingers ...😊
The Nurse quickly runs out and calls the emergency doctor to come and examine the patient ... Charu's parents who are sitting outside are alarmed by all the hustle and bustle going on around their daughter's room ...
Soon the emergency doctor comes into Charu's room and examines the patient's eyes, pulse and blood pressure ... Yes the patient seems to be regaining consciousness ... the doctor requests either the father or mother to constantly monitor the patient and to let them know if she shows any further signs of movement ...
Charu's mother pulls a chair and sits next to Charu's bed ... Charu's father tells her that he will be sitting outside and to call him immediately in case of any change in Charu's condition ... Charu's mother takes up a religious book and softly recites the slokas to herself ... however slowly her tired body gives way and her head nods and everything is quiet and still in the dark room ...
The pain is so excruciating ... Charu groans and whimpers ... her head feels so heavy and her body feels so feeble ... her hands feel like pieces of logs ... she weakly lifts her hand to try and touch her head ... she can feel some kind of bandage around her head ... she opens her mouth but no sound comes out ... her throat is so dry and her tongue feels so thick ... she cries out with great difficulty ... "Mummy ... mummy ..."
Charu calls out in pain again ... "Mummy ... mummy ..." ... hearing her agonised voice ... Charu's mother wakes up with a start and runs towards the bed ... "Charu! Charu! My baby..." she cries out with tears of happiness in her eyes ... 😭
Charu slowly opens her heavy eyelids ... her eyes feel so gritty ... she manages to ask in a low voice ... "Mummy what happened to me ... why do I feel a piercing pain in my head...?"
Hearing the soft voices inside the room, Charu's father peeps in ... Charu turns her head slowly and sees her father ... "Daddy .. is this a hospital ... what happened to me?"...
Charu's father quickly comes over to Charu's bed and gently takes her hand and pats it saying ... "Don't you remember?" Charu replies in a confused voice "No Daddy .. why is my head bandaged and why am I .in this room ?"
Charu's father looks at Charu's mummy and then he resolutely decides ... It's better to keep Charu in the dark regarding the incident that had changed her life ... "You were in a car accident my child ..." he whispers softly.
Charu stares at him and slowly closes her eyes tiredly ... then suddenly she opens her eyes again and looks straight at her father and murmurs "Was it on our way back from my engagement function?"... Charu's Dad gets the shock of his life ...😲😲
Charu continues in a sleepy voice ... "Where is my fiance Daddy? Was he also hurt in the accident?"...🥱
