OS: CHARU A NEW BEGINNING Last Part @ pg.6 - Page 5

Does Charu recognize Gokul's love for her ... does she decide to move on with her life ... or does she, as a result of Gokul's betrayal, become even more vengeful and deadly ...

Charu slams the bedroom door behind her and clutching the photo tightly in her hands ... she rushes down the stairs ... Gokul hears her quick footsteps and looks up from the newspaper he is reading ... seeing Charu agitated he throws down the paper and moves towards her swiftly ... "What is it Charu ... why do you look so disturbed and angry?" he asks anxiously ...

Her eyes blazing with anger and betrayal ... Charu reaches him and pushes the photo to his face and cries out furiously ... "Why did you deceive me Gokul? Do you recognize the person on this photo ... it is Tamizh ... isn't he the one I love ... isn't he the one I got engaged to ... Why did you lie to me Gokul?"

Gokul smiles dejectedly and says brokenly "Yes Charu ... Yes - I had to deceive you because I love you ... Yes - Tamizh is the one whom you loved ... but that love made you wicked ... it destroyed you ... you tried to kill his wife and then finally it led you to take your own life ... I did not want to lose you again because I love you very much and ... I ... I thought that you have started loving me."

Charu cries out rejecting him , "No Gokul ... your love is false ... it is just in your imagination ... if you had really loved me ... you would not have lied to me and made me believe in something which is utterly false ...How could you Gokul ... how could you?"

Gokul is dismayed ... he feels empty ... his whole life falls apart in front of his eyes ...

Charu becomes agitated and starts pacing the floor ... "I can't think ... my head is aching ... I have to ... I have to see Tamizh ... Gokul ... if ... if you truly love me ... please take me to his place..."

Gokul quickly pulls himself together and pacifies her saying, "Okay Charu calm down ... I will take you there as soon as you are ready ... in fact ... come let's go now."

Gokul and Charu rush out and get into the car ... and make their way silently to Tamizh's house ... each one is lost in their own private thoughts ... but when they park the car and get down ... Tamizh's neighbor tells them that Tamizh has gone to the nearby temple with his wife ...

At last they reach the temple ... Gokul remains near the entrance of the temple ... and Charu goes inside searching for Tamizh ...

Devotees are everywhere ... offering prayers ... breaking coconuts ... going round and round ...

At last she sees Tamizh and his wife Thulasi ... seated on the floor of the temple ... their bodies facing each other ... their heads close to one another as if they are sharing a secret ... then suddenly they burst out laughing ... and she feels ... she feels ... she feels NOTHING! ... nothing at all!!!

To her eyes ... Tamizh and Thulasi look just like any other loving couple enjoying a quiet time together ... and she feels no negative or positive vibrations towards them ...

Suddenly her heart becomes lighter and brims over with joy ... and she turns around ... her eyes now eagerly search for Gokul ...

In the secluded part of the temple premises ... Charu sees Gokul with his hands folded across his chest ... leaning against the trunk of a huge banyan tree ... his whole body reflecting his dejection ... with his head bowed in defeat and despair ...

Charu calls out "Gokul! Gokul!..." Gokul looks up taken aback by the eagerness in her tone ... he sees her running towards him ... hope rises in his heart as he sees the love shining in her eyes ...

At last Charu stands in front of him and cries out softly ... "Oh Gokul ... when I recognized Tamizh in that photo ... all I could think of is that you had betrayed my trust in you ... but Gokul I had to see Tamizh ... I had to know ... and now I know ... I feel nothing ... nothing at all ... towards Tamizh..."

Charu places her hand on Gokul's chest and feels his heartbeat racing and suddenly she reaches up and circles his neck with her hands as she hugs him fiercely ... "Hold me tightly Gokul ... and never let me go ..."

Charu continues with a sob, "When I looked at Tamizh ... all I could see was you ... ONLY you ... I cannot live without you ... I love you Gokul! Please take me home ..."

Gokul stands up straighter ... and smiles contentedly as he tenderly puts his arms around Charu and pulls her closer to him ... to place a tender kiss filled with promise on her forehead ... "Yes Charu let's go home and make preparations for our new life together ..."

On the way to the parked car ... Gokul stops at the flower seller ... buys two strings of sweet-scented Jasmine flowers ... he stands behind Charu ... and lovingly tucks the jasmine in her long braid ...

Her hand reaches up to help him ... Gokul gently removes her hand and gives it a squeeze ... he leans forward and whispers in her ears "I love you darling'" Charu tilts her head slightly to meet his eyes and whispers back adoringly, "I love you too Gokul..."

And then together they walk hand in hand ... get into their car ... and drive away to a new beginning overflowing with love and happiness ...
