Chapter 6
She felt her own cold, soft curls as the droplets of water touched her face. The shower did make her feel better but it didn't wipe away the lingering feelings of his hand over her wrist. She could sense the burn, and it made the knots in her stomach get tighter, because she had to step outside...she wanted to avoid him. She had no intentions of irritating Bihaan further by coming in front of him...she waited staring at the mirror, expecting that he would become busy in another task, or take rest in the time she delayed to go back out into her room.
He waited, how long does it take her to get ready? He never took note of how much time she would spend in the bathroom. But every real husband does that? He's supposed to notice little details about his wife. If he wanted her to trust him, he had to start paying attention to detail. He had to understand Thapki in a way nobody else could. He was nervous in an innocent attempt to pay attention to detail, as he held onto a square, dark velvety blue box. He had bought her a gift once, but this was different. He didn't exactly get the chance to deliver the gift to her in a sweet, romantic gesture. It ended up on her hands as a means to stop the pain and blood, but he wished he could go back in time and express how he spent hours looking for the kind of red chunri thapki would like... but that of course wouldn't be appreciated by her, not after what he did an hour ago. Nevertheless, he wanted to try another way. A new day brought a new gift, but he was getting impatient now. She still hadn't stepped out of the bathroom, and it had been forty minutes...He wanted to knock on the door to make sure she was okay, what if thapki had slipped and fallen, and...he stopped himself. He for once needed to stop expecting the worst, stay POSITIVE BIHAAN, stay POSTIVE, he told himself, and he waited. His nerves didn't allow him to stay in the room any longer, as much as he wanted her to step out of bathroom, he decided he would set the box on the dressing table, and quietly wait outside. After placing the box in the perfect spot, he wanted to head out the door. There, however, was a part of him dying to see her reaction, dying to see her face lighten up, dying to see the twinkle of appreciation in her eyes. He was tired too, and plopped down on the bed to decide what he wanted to do. The exhausting hours caught up to him, and he was sound asleep in an instant.
She slowly turned the door knob, to take a quick peek of Bihaan. Her eyes searched the room and landed on a serene, calm, and cuddled Bihaan. She was pulled towards this Bihaan, it brought back memories, touches, and feelings of this morning, when she woke up in the arms of a similar Bihaan. She didn't want to miss the chance to see this Bihaan, experience closeness to this Bihaan, because she was afraid that when he woke up, he would be different. He would be filled with hatred and anger towards her. She tip-toed towards the bed, and quietly sat down next to him. She always had the urge to touch his hair, and make his slightly messy hairstyle turn into a complete craziness. She ran her fingers across his forehead, and slowly through his hair. It was satisfying, her fingers felt a solace, as if they belonged there. Then, Thapki had an overwhelming thought cross her mind, Bihaan looked too comfy. It was a comfort that made her knees go weak, she wanted to be an equal part of his serenity, she wanted to slip underneath the blanket and be tightly held by his strong arms. But she had to wait. He was in no mood to be with her an hour ago, her heart's racing dropped rapidly with dissapointment, but she continued to caress his forehead and run her fingers through his hair, for she didn't know when this chance would come again. She saw his eyes open gently, and her hand froze...
He felt small, cold droplets on his face as he slowly opened his eyes. A soft, slightly curled texture brushed the side of his chin, it was HER. Her hair had a strong rosy scent to it, a kind that was hard to resist. The first thing he clearly saw was her slightly wet cheek from her hair constantly touching her. She was still, not knowing what Bihaan would do next, and could feel that his arm was moving up in her direction, she wanted to move but before she knew it, she felt warmth on her cheek. He was playing with the droplets and moving the strands on her face, while making swirls with his fingers. Her ticklish reflexes instantly caused her to spring away, but he held her wrist tight, AGAIN. He caught himself quick enough and let her go. She got up in haste, fixing her hair moving it away from her face.
He slowly got up, and leaned against the headboard.
She walked towards the dressing table to get ready.
Bihaan: Mrs. Chuk Chuk Gaadi, ab aur kitna taiyaar hona hai?
She felt a little relief that he was at the least calling her "MRS." chuk chuk gaadi, completely ignoring how he had just played with her hair, because it gave her stomach knots that she couldn't untie, and frankly didn't want to deal with them right at the moment, it made her too nervous.
She noticed him watching her through the mirror which made her extremely conscious of her every move. She looked down, because his gaze was confusing. It made her feel like he was mocking her, but it also had a flirtatious look, this was something new she thought. She had never seen that look. Finally her eyes went onto the blue box. She looked at him through the mirror.
Thapki: Yeh kya hai...ye hummmarraa nahi haai...
Bihaan: Yeh tumhara hi hai...
Thapki: Nahi to Bihaan...shayad galti se ma ne rakhdiya hoga...shshshaadi ki taiyaariyo mein
Bihaan decided that he'd had enough of this, he was going to try to be clear with her. He was going to try to be more open about how he felt. He had Two weeks and 6 days to win her heart.
She continued to look down and comb the ends of her hair...when she looked up he was standing right beside her, Reaching over for the blue box. She watched him flip over the blue velvety flap, inside was a beautiful set of choodiyan. Beautiful Golden, and silver, stone filled choodiyan. It would match with everything. She looked at her empty wrists, the only thing she could see were the markings from Bihaan's firm grip.
He slowly took them out piece by piece, and gently slipped them down thapki's hand. They were the perfect size, she was impressed. She remembered the sharp, painful memory of Bihaan trying to slip bangles down thapki's hand at the party, that was forceful, but this was graceful. It brought a gentle smile on her face. Lost in her own thoughts, she didn't even notice when Bihaan had finished putting the bangles on both her hands.
She loved how light they were, but made her hands look like a newly wedded bride.
Thapki: Bihhaaan yehh tummm...kyuunn...matlabb...mmmere liye
Bihaan: Nahi, yeh to hum humaare liye laaye hai... Voh hum humesha tumhaari kalaiya ko zor se pakadte hai na, to ab in choodiyon ki vaje se hume yaad rahega ki hum tumhaare kalaiyo ko chot na pohunchaaya,...voh kya hai na hum kabhi kabhi jaldbaazi mein bhool jaate hai...Thapki was overjoyed by this beautiful gesture. His humbleness and simplicity won her over for a millionth time. He didn't boast about how he bought her a gift, and he didn't buy her expensive golden bangles, but rather the kind she saw at the market today.
Bihaan: Hum jaante hai tumne shaadi ke kangan nahi pehnogi, isiliye humm ye laaye...His words brought her back to the time when she removed everything. The bangles, the Sindoor, the mangalsutra. She had handed that back to him with such hate. It fired up her lungs with an overabundance of exasperating air. She still couldn't believe that this was the same Bihaan that married her wrongly. But two wrongs didn't make a right, she would get the truth out of him. He would never pay attention to her likes and dislikes, if her stuttering bothered him. But he wouldn't tell the truth to her, until she won him over. How could she let him know that she truly appreciated this gesture? How could she tell him she wanted to KNOW every little detail about his life? She wanted to find a way, to get out to the house somewhere far, with just her and Bihaan; not having to worry about their families, not having to pay attention to the rest of the worlds, just lost in their own universe. Bihaan snapped her out ...
HE snapped his fingers, trying to get her attention...
Bihaan: Kaha kho gai?
She wasn't really in her senses even after drawing her attention towards Bihaan. She started to walk away from him, rather than saying Thank you, what she had intended to do originally.
Bihaan: KYa hua, nahi passand aaye? Hum dusre laadenge? she saw his head kind of droop in disappointment...and she couldn't see him feel ashamed about anything anymore. She walked back and leaned her forhead against his back...slipping her hands into his curled up fingers, he instantly held on tight...He was glad that she wasn't upset with him anymore, he wanted to drown himself in this precious moment, and so did she. Her next instinct lead her to slip her arms through his arms, up to his chest, completely embracing him while hiding behind his broad shoulders, she was too shy to look into his eyes. He held her hand attempting to turn her around, because he wanted to lose himself in her eyes...but as he attempted to turn her hands to bring her in front of him, he twisted his plastered arm in an unbearable way...OUUCCCHHH he screamed...
Thapki: KYa hua BIHAAN???? She instantly moved out of the embrace and started to examine his arm, as if she would be able to figure out exactly which nerve was pinched, by observing it? He watched her smirking, and with that unknown flirtatious tone he decided to tease Thapki...
Bihaan: KYa Baat hai, chot hume lagi hai...aur dard tumhein ho raha hai? Tumhe kuch hua hai kya Chuk chuk? And his eyes sparkled mischievously longing with questions that Thapki wanted to answer badly, but the loud thumping of her heart completely distracted her.
DHRUV, could not bare what he saw...He hadn't realized that the two had come home, but when he heard Bihaan's scream he had run upstairs to rescue his brother assuming he was in trouble, and needed help with his arm. It was his brother after all. But what he saw angered him towards not only Bihaan, but angered him towards THAPKI. She was acting like a rosy cheeked teenager as Bihaan was flirting with her. Were they really in love, or was this just some horrible nightmare that he would wake up from one day? It disgusted him, that someone elses loving moments were becoming his nightmare, and too his own brother's...But how was he just supposed to forget everything and move on? But the greater form of envy was standing right behind him, Shraddha had been there longer than Dhruv...She was craving for Dhruv's attention. Why couldn't Dhruv pay attention to her the way Bihaan princessed Thapki? She didn't want Thapki and Bihaan's Jodi outdo her Jodi with Dhruv. She had to come up with a plan to distance these two love birds throughout the marriage, it would take away all the attention if these two kept sizzling up their chemistry. Dhruv doesn't hold her in his arms yet, but she wouldn't let the proximity of Thapki and Bihaan destroy her wedding romanticism. Not one social media site should talk about the cuteness of Thapki and Bihaan's jodi, after all she was the celebrity wife, not Thapki. She walked away from the scene and quickly made a phone call...Ha Piya, tum kab aa rah ho? Tum jitna jaldi aa sako na utna accha hai, aur Ronnie ko bhi kehna ki uski behen uska intezaar kar rahi hai, humaari tariff se bhi sangeet keliye solid dancers ki zaroorat hai, please aajaaana...BYEEE...
She knew her sister well, she looked at Bihaan's picture in the hallway talking to herself...
shraddha: Meri Behen Mujhe Nahi Pehchaanti, par main uski passand ko bahut achi tara pehchaanti hu...
Dhruv: Kiski passand?...
shraddha jerked, as she heard his voice>
Shraddha: voh dhruv...mera cousin Ronnie? ussse...Ye sab nach gaana bahut passand hai...He loves to dance, aur shaadi ke kaam bhi ache se karleta hai...to main use yahaan kuch din jaldi bulaana chaahti thi
Dhruv: Oh...acha...jab aayege to mujse milaadena
shraddha: Ha of course...and Dhruv Left to his office...
End of Chapter 6
Precap:
She was wearing silver sparkly high heels, with a mauve silky dress that came up above her knee to her mid-thighs. She had a tall slender figure, and her hair was big, bold, and styled like she came out of a vogue magazine. Thapki saw the resemblance between her and Shraddha, they were both equally beautiful. Thapki looked at her sea green and white anarkali, and felt like she was under dressed, she didn't really understand why her and Bihaan were invited, and where was Bihaan? He promised he would be here after helping Bauji with refurnishing the outhouse for important guests...She missed him, hoping he would be missing her too.
