Chapter 2
Bihaan's thoughts: It was a delight to see her smile and laugh. So this is what chuk chuk gaadi must have looked like before I ruined her life. Family does that to you, I miss being like this with Dhruv. Spending nights playing video games, basketball, watching movies...which reminds me...we haven't had a movie night in ages. Dhruv would never agree to this, but I can invite both Shraddha and Aditi, then he won't be able to say no. YES!!! But wait...before I do anything I should ask Thapki what kind of movies she likes, yep. His last thoughts were about her, and he didn't realize when he fell asleep. When he woke up she wasn't anywhere in the room.
Aditi loved being at the Pandey residence, she didnt have to do any chores, and could continuously spend time with Thapki while decorating the entire house, it was a worry free zone. Thapki really wanted to put up the red and gold tulle on the lower ceiling near the hallway, but she couldn't remember where the ladder was, she went to go look for it.
Aditi saw her cute delicate sister carrying a ladder twice her size, where had the Pandey nivaas servants gone? She just realized it was Sunday, and a majority of them had asked for the weekend off before the weeks of non-stop shaadi dhamaal, it made sense. But tomorrow some guests would slowly start ariving, and although Shraddha's side of the family would be living in her father's farmhouse, they would still want to come see the lavish pandey home, so Thapki had to make her home beautiful, and that aditi knew. Thapki put her hair up, and was carrying a long ckecklist, she was slowly thinking and checking things off her list, making sure that she didnt need anything else to put up before the beautiful red and gold threads and nets. She loved decorating, and finally she got an opportunity to plan something at such a grand level.
Bihaan couldn't find Thapki anywhere upstairs. Its only 7:30 AM, I don't even wake up this early he thought. It was probably because he went to sleep early last night, he didn't even wait for Thapki. Why would he have to wait for her anyway. He just realized that he would wait for her everyday, especially for the past two weeks. But yesterday she didn't come. She was late. He wasn't early, but her early rattle at 6AM wasn't there, no wonder he was able to sleep peacefully for the last hour. Had she not slept all night? OH NO, he just realized he's supposed to be helping her plan an entire wedding and he's just taking his sweet time.
As he rushed down the stairs he caught glimpse of her, she looked different. Her hair was up, she never does that. yeh chuk chuk gaadi, kitni...and before he could finish his own thoughts he couldn't take eyes off her pencil. The one she was swinging back and forth, and checking things off with. It was on her lips, then back up in the air, back to her lips and back up in the air. He almost missed a step, this was rare, she actually put the pen in her high bun, she looked so cute working hard...he never noticed her like this before, and KABOOOMLPLOPTHUD, he definitely missed a step this time.
She immediately turned her head, and he was sitting there rubbing his head...At first she didn't know how to react, was he hurt? But before she knew it, her and aditi looked at each other and bursted out laughing, the laughter got stronger and stronger, and both ladies were trying to hold themselves off the ground, but not for long. HE was heading towards them, ANGRY. His stare intensified, and he took steps towards the girls, there was something scary about his glare. He didn't break his gaze, he came closer and closer and closer, and then he raised his hand as if he was about to knock the senses out of Thapki, but instead bursted out in laughter...
Thapki stopped breathing heavily...
she was upset, how does he manage to bring fear into her, when she knows he would never harm her physically, why does her heart beat so fast whenever he gives her that glare? Why would she allow him to control her feelings as such.
He continued to laugh...dargai na??? HAHahahah chuk chuk gadi dar gai...Aditi couldn't take it, something took over her, and she turned around and before she knew it, her hand was across Bihaan's face and ringing from the tight slap. What had she done?
Thapki gasped, as she saw the red mark on Bihaan's skin. Aditi had started crying...
Aditi: Sorry Bihaan Jeeju, Im sorry, and broke out into tears, before Thapki or Bihaan could say anything she ran to the guest room...Bihaan was utterly confused...why would Aditi slap him? Apart from the fact that he basically ruined Thapki's life. Well, it was a good enough reason...but why all of a sudden? He looked at Thapki...he saw a similar expression on her face...He wasn't mad at her, for some reason her sorry seemed genuine...
Bihaan: GAJAB!! T se Thapad bhi maarti hai aur S se Sorry Jeeju bhi bolti hai, bilkul chuk chuk gaadi par gai hai...
HE was trying to be humorous, but this wasn't funny. She saw the red mark on his face. It took all her nerves to not want to touch it, and put some ointment on it. She was trying to hate him with everything she had insider of her, but It wasn't working anymore. HE was becoming harder and harder to hate day by day. Should she really put ointment on it? NO, he can take care of himself he's not a baby.
She wanted to go check on Aditi, she was worried.
Thapki: Bbb BBihaan...tum tum yee...is kone ki measurement loo...tabtak mein aditi se bbaat kkkarke aaati hu.
BIHAAN: nahi, tum isss kone ki measurement lo, is baar hum baat karege aditi se
Thapki: tum. tum kyun baat karoge? Main karugi, voh mujhe apne dil ki baat bataayegi
Bihaan: usne thapad hume mara hai to savaal hum hi poochege
Thapki: Voh, tumse nafrat karti hai, bilkul meri tara
Bihaan: acha! Agar voh humse nafrat karti hai, to hume jeeju kyun bulaaya
Thank: To kya hua main bhi to tumhe...thats when she realized that her argument was faulty...she never called bihaan "aap", even though he was her husband, not by choice but he still was. And she called druv, dhruv sir even when she didnt have to. She realized the loophole in her argument, she knew aditi didn't hate Bihaan, she wasn't the hating type of girl. She might have wanted to teach him a lesson, but why did she say sorry then? And why did she start crying? She needed to ask her, but before she could Bihaan was already on his way upstairs. She knew that Aditi wouldn't say anything to Bihaan, but she knew Bihaan would cheer her up. He was funny sometimes, as much as it hurt to admit it, Thapki too has secretly smiled in the absence of Bihaan, laughing at his nautanki. But she would never acknowledge this in front of him, ever.
THUMP, THUMP, THUMP, somebody was frantically knocking on her door, and she was taken aback by the aggressiveness. WHAT IF it was him? Wait...How could it be, she is in Pandey Nivaas?
Bihaan: Saali saiba, hum hai.
Aditi opened the door, and she looked fine. The tears had all dried out, she did look tired.
Aditi: Voh, jeeju...aap maaf
Bihaan: Koi baat nahi, kabhi kabhi humme bhi gussa atta hai na to hum bhi Thapki ko ek do thapad to laga dete hai...ADITI had a confused look on her face...and then she was smiling. He did have a sense of humor, and for the first time she saw the goodness in him. He was kind of cute actually.
Aditi: NO really, voh kabhi kabhi beet hui baatien yaad aati hai, aur gussa ajaata hai.
Bihaan: Koi baat nahi, hum aisa karte hai aaj raat na, sab ka mood theek kardete hai...M se Movie or N se Night rakhte hai. Movie Night hogi to bahut mazaa ayega...
Aditi: acha to kaun dekhega movie
BihaanL hum, aap, dhruv, shraddha aur...
aditi: aur?
Bihaan: Aur humaari pyaari Mrs. chuk chuk gaadi!
aditi: Acha ...pyaari?
Bihaan: Bolna padta hai, kya hai na deewaro ke bhi kaan hote hai...
Shraddha: WOW movie NIGHT!!!!!
Bihaan: Dekha maine kaha tha na?
Aditi smiled, he had perfect comic timing...
Shraddha: Kya main aasakti hoon?
Bihaan: Ha, lekin ek shart hai
Aditi: Dhruv ko tum manaaogi
Bihaan...was glad that sali saiba was excited about tonight! He was glad she was in a good mood again, because that meant chuk chuk gaadi would be in a good mood too!
Shards: okay done!!! OMG can't wait!
Bihaan: isse to bas maze lootne ka bahana chaahiye
Aditi: hahahah, vaise konsa movie dekhege?
Bihaan: tum jaanti ho thapki ko kaisi movie passand hai? Aditi was a little surprised that Bihaan wanted to know this. Had her brother in law fallen for Thapki? NO not possible. Thapki is probably a riot to him, she herself would never let him fall in love with her, plus their's no heat between them.
Aditi: hmmm Di ko na comedy movie bahut passand hai...
Bihaan: GAJAB, haste hue buri bhi nahi lagti he mumbled
Aditi: Kuch kaha?
Bihaan: Nahi, voh to hum soch rahe the kaunsi picture lagaaye...sochke bataate hai
He rushed downstairs to go help Thapki, but she was nowhere to be found. Maybe she was in the kitchen...He saw the red and gold nets, and the design on the paper that Thapki had left, he should probably put all of this up...he carefully got on the ladder, and started to hammer on the pvc pipe...he slowly started to stretch the nets and fabrics, in the pattern thapki drew, it was starting to look beautiful...hmmm chuk chuk gaadi ko ye bhi ataa hai...
Thapki: Bihaaan, Bihaaan
Bihaan: KYa hai, laga to rahe hai...
Thapki: voh do red ke baad ek gold shimmer wall, tumne plain gold lagaya hai...
Bihaan: kaha shimmer wala hi to lagaya hai...
Thapki: is taraf, dekho...
Bihaan: acha theek hai, hum badal dete hai, she went to hand him some more shimmery tulle, and That's when she noticed something...
Thapki: BIhaaan , neeche utro, abhi
Bihaan: Thapki ye bas ho hi gaya hai ab, voh shimmer vala net humme dedo
Thapki: Bihaan tumm...
and before she could complete her sentence, the ladder was on the ground, and she closed her eyes...her heart stopped, skipped a beat, and when her eyes opened she couldn't stop herself from running to him.
He didn't land on his head, it was a good sign, but he landed on his hand, and with the ladder on top...She was relieved that there was no blood.
But he looked awkward. She dragged the ladder away from him, and aditi, shraddha, dhruv came running as they sensed something was wrong...Vasu came running from the kitchen...
Vasu: are ye sab kya kar rahe ho, kal naukar kardege, Bihaan tumhe kitni baar kaha hai ke naukaro ke kaam mat kiya karo, tum Pandey khaandaan ke bete ho...and she realized that everyone was listening...
Thapki had run off from the scene...she needed to get a Coldpack Instantly...She found one from the freezer...and ran to Bihaan, she wish she could have stopped him earlier, so what if one net was shimmerless, it looked fine. He was still on the ground, Vasu was cleaning up the area, and it surprised Thapki for once that his own mother wasn't trying to help him up, but maybe she was just upset with him.
Thapki tried helping Bihaan up, but grabbed the wrong arm...
Bihaan: Aaahhh Kya kar rahi ho? Before Thapki knew it she was sitting next to him on the ground, Her knees brushed his legs, and he felt an unusual spark down his spine. There was no way his leg had that many nerve endings on it, something was most definitely wrong with him. He was trying to get up...and somehow with her support, he was halfway up...she had him lean against the wall, her body pressed against his, as he wrapped his hand around her shoulder. That hand was numb, but for once he wished that it wasn't. He didn't stop himself from looking at her, thinking about her, it was next to impossible. She looked so worried, worried for him. Then she finally managed, to get him up and sat him down on the sofa. She helped take his jacket off, when she noticed his entire hand and arm was bruised, she instantly applied the cold pack...
Bahaman: Ouch and as his forehead squinted, so did hers. As his eyes scrunched, so did hers. She was feeling his pain, and she knew it. It was hard to see, unbearable. She was teary, and her breathing became irregular, she wanted to say something...but nothing seemed to come out. She wanted him to say, chuk chuk gaadi ab bas hogaya dard nahi ho raha...but he said nothing, because she could tell that it hurt...because he was the strongest man she knew, and today he looked vulnerable, it was a different Bihaan, or maybe it was a different Thapki. I can't hate him, I don't know iif I'll ever forget him, were her only thoughts.
Aditi watched with awe, she was in utter disbelief. THERE WAS HEAT, This was electrifying...for the first time she realized that these two had oodles of chemistry, and a inexplicable budding romance that the two were unaware of. Maybe fulfilling Vasu Aunty's promise won't be so difficult after all.
End of Chapter 2.
