Music duo Sachet Parampara created a stir online earlier today after they released a video on Instagram addressing long running claims made by composer and former Bigg Boss nineteen contestant Amaal Mallik. The couple stated that they had finally reached a point where they felt compelled to speak publicly, especially about Amaal’s repeated suggestion that the popular track Bekhayali from Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Kabir Singh was inspired by his own reference material.
Explaining that “it was high time,” the pair uploaded a detailed video to set the record straight. Their response comes months after Amaal’s interview with Siddharth Kannan in which he claimed that he had shared Bekhayali reference tracks via WhatsApp and that the duo had used them. In that same conversation, Amaal mentioned that although he was initially meant to compose several songs for Kabir Singh, he ended up doing only Yeh Aaina. He had spoken about “politics” within the industry yet maintained that he had no bitterness, saying, 'No. I just said well done.' His comments had gone viral at the time.
Now, Sachet and Parampara have broken their silence. In their video they opened by saying, 'Hi everyone, we are Sachet and Parampara, and this is regarding something which has become very serious now. This is regarding Mr Amaal Mallik. Actually, we never thought that we would have to clarify all these things, but this is something that we purely created. We are talking about Bekhayali, which Amaal Mallik claims he made some time ago.' They stressed that the entire Kabir Singh team had been involved in the creation process and witnessed every stage of the song’s development.
The duo continued, 'We have all the chats with Amaal Mallik; we have all the chats with the Kabir Singh team because the entire Kabir Singh team was there when we created this song. Every melody, every composition, every arrangement, every lyric was done when the entire team was there, and it is purely a Sachet and Parampara original composition.' They also included screenshots of their messages with Amaal to support their claims.
Responding to Amaal’s remark that “favourites join the label,” the couple clarified that they were never connected to T Series before Kabir Singh and pointed out that Amaal had been associated with the label for years. They also dismissed the claim that someone sent them a Bekhayali reference track, questioning, 'We are outsiders; why would anyone favour us? Or if we have come from a small town, would someone play their song for us and expect us to make a song like that? Are you serious, Amaal Mallik?' They further asked why he congratulated them after the song’s release if he believed it was stolen: 'Also, let’s assume that if you want to say we stole your song, then why were you congratulating us after the release? You were the first one texting me, saying you were waiting for our song.'

Calling out what they describe as his habit of “lying to the media,” they said they feel sorry for fans who believe such claims.
They went on to say that Amaal once told them in the T Series office that “Kabir Singh is nothing,” but in the next moment praised their work, saying, “your Bekhayali was so fab.” They reiterated that the song was composed in Shahid Kapoor’s office, with both Shahid and director Sandeep Reddy Vanga present, and that they have multiple recordings from those sessions.
Stating that the controversy has harmed their reputation, the duo demanded a public apology. 'We want an apology from you, and in public, because you went outside. You went on your social media, asking and telling all these things.' They concluded with a strong message advocating truth. 'Just because these days accusations are like this - if you accuse someone, that person is deemed wrong. Please follow the truth… This could happen to us or anyone.' They made it clear they would pursue legal action if needed.
Their caption was equally direct: 'Warning. This video could have been a 10 second video, also proving all rumours false, but for our mental peace, exposing some people was very important. @amaal_mallik SHAME ON YOU AMAAL MALIK.'
The reaction to their video has been intense, with fans and industry watchers now revisiting the years old controversy with renewed curiosity. While Amaal Mallik has yet to issue a public statement in response to their demands, the situation has clearly escalated into one of the most direct confrontations the music industry has seen in recent times. As Sachet Parampara stand firm on their stance and insist on transparency, all eyes are now on how Amaal chooses to address these allegations. Whether this leads to a resolution or sparks an even wider debate about credit and creative ownership in the industry remains to be seen. What is certain is that the Bekhayali dispute has once again taken centre stage, prompting conversations about honesty, recognition and respect within the world of music.
