Part 6
Twinkle shakes her head, trying to get all the wrong thoughts out and heads back downstairs with a smile on her face, and sees Yuvraj at the door, with Mahi saying bye.
"Itni jaldi ja rahe ho?" Twinkle asks.
"Yeah. But I'm glad you came down, I really want to thank you Twinkle, for making me realize what a big mistake I'm making with my KS, I mean my Kunj Bhaiyya," Yuvraj laughs.
"Aww, don't thank me." Twinkle waves her hand. "I'm happy to help," She smiles at him. "Besides it'll bring me that much closer to Kunj,"
Yuvraj turns to leave, "Bye girls,"
"Bye," Both Mahi and Twinkle echo.
"Oh hey, do both of you want to come with me tomorrow to meet him?" Yuvraj asks.
"To meet your brother?" Twinkle asks.
"Duh Di!" Mahi laughs. "No, he's asking if we want to go shopping!"
"Well that too," Yuvraj shrugs.
"Umm, I'll pass." Twinkle says quickly. "But some other time definitely. Mahi can go if she's free," She turns to Mahi.
"Uh, sure. If you don't mind though," She says to Yuvraj.
"If I did, I wouldn't ask you," Yuvraj winks at her as he turns and leaves. "I'll call you later!" he calls out to her before getting in his car.
Mahi slowly closes the door, along with her eyes, ready to face the wrath of Twinkle when she turns around.
"Why are your eyes closed?" Twinkle asks.
Mahi peeks out of one. "Aren't you going to freak out at me?"
"Freak out?" Twinkle laughs and shakes her head. "No. But a cross examination of Mr. Yuvraj Sarna, is definitely in order,"
Mahi giggles as she takes Twinkle quickly and makes her sit across her from the window seat.
"I want to know every little detail!" Twinkle says.
"I've told you the way we met already," Mahi points out. "He broke my phone,"
"Right! That was him!" Twinkle smiles, "Sorry, go on!"
Mahi smiles. "Okay so after I hung up with you, he offered to take me to the phone store, to get a new phone and everything, and after I insisted he let me pay, he still didn't. So he bought me my phone since he felt guilty for walking into me, and then one thing led to another and we went out for dinner. Then yesterday we basically spent the entire day together, well asides from attending our lectures, and I guess we just became close friends!"
Twinkle stays silent.
"Di, are you okay?" Mahi asks.
Twinkle arches an eyebrow higher. "Just friends?"
Mahi bursts into giggles. "You can see right through me can't you?"
"Course I can! You're my sister" Twinkle hugs her. "So does he like you too?"
Mahi silently nods. "I think so,"
"I'm so happy for you Mahi!"
"Thanks di!" Mahi hugs her tightly back. "Oooh! So what happened on your flight to London?"
Twinkle's smile fades and she looks out the window.
"Di? Come on, you sounded excited about it before," Mahi reminds her.
"I was excited about it Mahi, but ab jaane do na?" Twinkle asks.
Sensing the pain in her sister's voice and her eyes, Mahi decides to leave the topic. "Okay, but can we discuss something really important?"
"Sure, what's that?" Twinkle asks.
"What I should wear tomorrow?" Mahi laughs.
Twinkle bursts out laughing. "My little sister always knows how to bring a smile to my face," Twinkle walks towards Mahi's room, excited for the fact, that if not her, at least Mahi would be seeing Kunj. Maybe she'd even tell her what he'd look like tomorrow or maybe even Twinkle could call when she was with him, and maybe just maybe be able to hear his voice? "Stop it! Why am I thinking these things? Kunj clearly said he wants nothing to do with me, but why is my heart unable to understand this?"
Twinkle smiles watching Mahi model different ensembles for her big day tomorrow.
The Next Morning
"Mahi! Kaha hai tu?" Twinkle calls out. "Yuvraj abhi aa jayega!"
"I'm coming di!" Mahi calls back, rushing down the hall in her heels.
"Wow! I've never seen my little sister wear such high heels before," Twinkle giggles.
Mahi glares at her. "You've seen how tall Yuvraj is. I should match up na?"
Twinkle nods while still laughing. "You're right." She looks out the window. "Ab ja!"
Mahi quickly hugs Twinkle. "I'll call you probably when Yuvraj talks to his brother okay?"
Twinkle smiles. "Sure, call me whenever you want okay?"
Mahi nods. "Bye Di!" She rushes out and sits down into Yuvraj's car.
Twinkle fold her hands together and prays to god. "I hope everything goes well, especially between Yuvraj and Kunj. And I really hope Kunj likes Mahi,"
At The Mall
Kunj keeps checking his watch, "Why isn't Yuvraj here yet? I'm sure he decided not to come!" He mutters under his breath, until he sees Yuvraj walking towards with him with a girl in his hand.
Yuvraj comes within range and so Kunj calls out. "Yuvi, over here,"
Yuvraj looks in his direction and a small smile emerges on his lips as he whispers something to the girl who goes off in a different direction.
"KS," Yuvraj just grabs Kunj into a hug immediately. "I'm so so sorry for everything! I was a horrible brother, how can you ever forgive me?" Yuvraj starts crying. "Jise maine zindagi mei sabse zyaada pyaar kiya, usse hi maine thukraya!"
Kunj places his hand on Yuvraj's back. "Yuvi, stop crying," He holds him by the shoulders. "I was never mad at you. How could I be?"
They both sit down at a table.
"I blamed you for everything!" Yuvraj exasperates.
"You did Yuvi, but it's okay. You're here with me now," Kunj says trying to reassure him. "It's okay,"
Yuvraj finally wipes away his tears and looks up at him. "You're not mad?"
Kunj smiles. "How could I be? You're my favourite little brother,"
"I'm your ONLY little brother," Yuvraj manages to say with a smile.
"You're right. So tell me how've you been?" Kunj asks.
"Miserable without you," Yuvraj says.
"You didn't look so miserable walking in with such a pretty girl," Kunj comments.
Yuvraj looks up startled. "Oh, that was just Mahi. You'll meet her a little later,"
Kunj smiles. "Something serious?"
"Kinda, but hey we're meeting today because you had a big problem to discuss with me!"
Kunj sighs. "Right."
"So? Out with it,"
"There's this girl'" Kunj starts.
"I knew it!" Yuvraj says. "Any problem that you have to consult with yours truly, had to be related to a girl,"
"Ab tu chup rahega?" Kunj asks.
"Right," Yuvraj puts his finger to his mouth.
"I met her on the flight to London, and we really connected you know? We even exchanged cards, only to find out later that we only have each other's email addresses. And then I tried to forget about her since I knew she was getting engaged and tried to be happy since me and Manmeet were going to see a girl for him, and when we get there just guess who the girl is?" Kunj makes a sad face.
"The same one you met on the plane?" Yuvraj asks curiously. Kunj nods sadly while Yuvraj's eyes widen. "Oh god! Phir?"
"Phir kya? I saw how happy she looked and tried to forget how I really feel about it, and then I just tried to tell her not to keep any relation with me, but she keeps emailing me and everything, and I'm not sure what to do now," Kunj says quietly.
"Wow! Even I couldn't get myself out of this mess," Yuvraj says.
Kunj just stares at him. "Thanks Yuvi. Really, thanks a lot."
Yuvraj smiles. "KS, what am I here for? I'll figure it out. Oh, has she emailed you back recently?"
Kunj nods. "While I was on the plane from London to here, I just haven't replied yet."
"What'd it say?" Yuvraj asks.
Kunj takes out his Phone and shows Yuvraj the email.
"Mr. Kunj Sarna, I'll have you know, that cutting off all friendships with people, is not how I honour a new relationship. Keeping in contact with you, AS FRIENDS, will not pose any harm to anyone,"
"Ooo she seems feisty!" Yuvraj laughs. "And 'as friends'; the best line any guy wants to hear!"
Kunj chooses to ignore that and says something else. "She is Yuvraj, oh you'd love her," Kunj sighs.
"Earth to KS! Snap out of it," Yuvraj laughs right as his cell phone rings. "Hello? Oh hey, yeah you can come," he laughs. "No, don't be shy, come on out," He hangs up. "Mahi wants to meet you."
Kunj smiles. "Good, I can't wait to meet her as well."
Mahi slowly walks up to their table and both Kunj and Yuvraj stand up, while Yuvraj pulls her up a chair.
"Hi, I'm Kunj Sarna," Kunj puts out his hand.
"Mahi, Mahi Taneja." Mahi says to him timidly.
Kunj's smile stops on his face. "Taneja? Wasn't Twinkle also a Taneja?" He shakes his head, and gestures for her to sit. "So how'd you two meet?"
Yuvraj and Mahi get into the story of how they met while Kunj just smiles.
"And so yesterday when I met Mahi's sister, she really persuaded me to come talk to you," Yuvraj finishes.
"Wow! I'd definitely love to meet this girl," Kunj comments.
"That's perfect!" Mahi says excitedly. "You can come over right now, if you're not busy," she adds with an afterthought.
Kunj laughs. "That's fine with me, I just have one business thing left to do," He gestures to Yuvraj his phone and the unanswered email.
"Good luck," Yuvraj comments as Kunj walks over to the railing to respond privately.
"Twinkle, if friendship is what you really want, I want to be here for you. To me, family and friendship is above everything. And so now, I guess from here, we're embarking on a new relationship as well." He signs off and walks back to the table. "All done,"
"Awesome," Yuvraj smiles. "Mahi's called her di as well, so we can get going,"
Kunj smiles as they all walk towards the car park.
At the House
"I'm dead. I'm dead. I'm really really dead." Twinkle says as she paces around the house frantically. "What will I do when he sees me? He's probably going to think I tricked Mahi into being friends with Yuvraj because of him! Ugh!" Twinkle blows out the breath she'd been holding when from her room she hears the ping of her laptop. ~*~"You've Got Mail!"~*~ Twinkle hurries as she goes and clicks on the message icon.
"Twinkle, if friendship is what you really want, I want to be here for you. To me, family and friendship is above everything. And so now, I guess from here, we're embarking on a new relationship as well."
"Wow'" Twinkle trails off. "Maybe seeing him won't be such a bad thing,"
She quickly goes to her closet and changes into a pink and purple shaded salwar suit, and adorns her ears with chandelier earrings and as she's putting on her bangles, her eyes fall on the engagement ring from Manmeet. "Yeh mai kya kar rahi hu? I'm engaged, but still my heart feels drawn towards Kunj. Why is this feeling so strong?" Twinkle playfully takes off the engagement band and sets it down in her vanity, right as the doorbell rings. "Here's the moment of truth," She rushes down to the door, and slowly opens it and the moment Kunj lays eyes on her, Twinkle feels his eyes all over her as if seeing her for the first time.
"Twinkle? What was she doing here?" Kunj slowly smiled as he wondered what sort of game the god above was playing with him and her. Throwing them together and then breaking them apart whenever he felt like it.
Phew! That was pretty long too! I just hope everyone likes the progression of the story so far! Please do tell me anything I can improve on!
