Round: Filmy Funda Round

The title for the round was a bit pointless this week. Everyone did their regular dances. Some were 'filmy' though. Satish and DD were not participating this week.

1) Arun/Priya

- boring but good improvement

- Priya had good energy but it was the same thing like previous weeks

2) Wong/Sunita

- technically good but no new idea

- they did the same old western dance again

3) Geethan/Divya

- tried something a little different

- Geethan was so cute

4) Prem/Premini

- small concept but a bit dull today

5) Mani/Rajini

- Rajini at the beginning was cute

- nothing new but good energy level

- Mani never projected himself today

6) Suresh/Jeyaluxmi

- Jeyaluxmi had good control, nice expressions

- small concept but nice presentation

- big improvement, their dance was filmy

7) Karthick/Priya

- Karthick at the beginning was good with the imitations

- Priya lost control, no new idea to the dance

8) Sai/Sheriff

- cute duet

- at some times sync was off

- Sherrif has good facial language

- I liked the use of the background dancers

Best Jodi: Sai/Sheriff

Danger Zone: Priya/Kathick & Priya/Arun

Elimination: Arun/Priya

Overall today on average the dances were good but they were boring. These dances were similar to previous dances and new concepts and ideas were lacking. I liked how the judges this week gave good comments about everyone and then told them what they need to work on. These judges demand perfection and that is good for the couples. It was so sad to see Arun and Priya go today. I wish they gave them another week. Bu they have Wild Card Round.

Lets hope DD and Satish are back next week since I miss them.

Thanks Smiles for your updates and opinions of this weeks program.

The outfits of the judges looked gorgeous this week , especially Gouthami) and also DD and deepak's outfits(deepak had baby pink to match PD's saree) were very nice.

This week, I felt, that Radhika's inability to judge showed up well - meaning, her insufficient indept knoweldge to dance. She talked so much in the name of giving comments with exaqmples and all - but never to a point. My expectations on Radhika as a judge are let down. This is a dance show were all the participants are very good dancers - we should have got a jude who knows dance very well.

Thanks smiles for the detailed updates..

At first when they told Radhika as one of the judge, i was really upset.. But after seeing her comment i was feeling she is ok. Able to judge atleast somewat fair.. but this week, my hope really went down... And i don't talk about gauthami, coz i feel radhka dominates..

Regarding Arun/Priya elimintaion, i was really feeling sad for Arun. He really danced well.. Priya tried her best to co-op.. and make her best to suit him.. Arun was excellent...

I thought Priya/srikarthick will be eliminated... I felt they had lots of room for improvement..

And priya crying screwed me up like anything.. Y the hell will she cry before the results.. I call it mere scene.. nothing else.. and was crying after the results.. Just think about the pair who got eliminated.. respect their feelings also.. When u cry, the pair who got eliminated may feel even worse..

Sorry to say that i was really grr on her in the first round on seeing here mini.

Hope to see DD and Deepak soon..

I also like PD's and Deepak's costume.

Please no offense.. I just gave my opinion..

Friday episode..

This week its one on one round where two pairs compete and immediate results are given one in danger zone and other in safe zone...

First it was (folk dance) suresh and jayalakshmi(safe/won) vs srikarthik and "mm"priya(danger/lost)...

Next it was (hip hop dance) wong and sunitha(safe/won) vs premgopal and premini(danger/lost due to their category performance was not hip hop)...

Saturday episode will be more interesting as dd and satish are gonna compete with mani rajini in filmi western styles...

And sherrif and sai compete with geethan and dhivya in bollywood styles...

And judges costumes were so elegant and cute especially of gauthami(black dress) and radhika looked graceful...

Saturday episode...

First performance was by

mani and rajini(filmy western dance)(danger/lost) but chandralekha my fav song superb vs

Satish and DD(safe/won) brilliant eventhough dd was ill and satish rocked the floor super energetic comeback...

Next it was (bollywood dance) sherrif and sai(tie)they were so innovative vs

geethan and dhivya(tie)very energetic sing is king songs superb rocking song selection...but both draw performance...

as the best couple or best jodi is satish and dd and suresh and jayalakshmi(tie)...

but three jodis were in danger zone...

so finally there is no elimination this week... hippey hurray...

For me there were ups and down for this weekend.

Suresh/Jeyaluxmi: They played it soft. They picked 2 simple folk songs and did a slower folk dance. I see good improvement but their dance had nothing new to it. They did not deserve to win.

Karthick/Priya: They tried hard and this was probably one of their better performances. Their choreo was fast and hard and they had good energy. They were determined to leave the danger zone.

Wong/Sunita: As usual technically they are great. The choreo was nice. Their dance was good but no creativity or new ideas. They've been doing dances like this since week 1. Today the judges never mentioned that Sunita was singing the male lyrics. Did they really deserve to win?

Prem/Premini: I loved their entire dance. The only problem was it was not exactly your traditional hip-hop. However their dance was eye grabbing. Premini is wonderful. From far away behind the masks I could not tell who was who. They were both equal. Like Gautami said their dance had other styles to it, but I appreciate the fact that they showed us something new today.

Mani/Rajini: Their dance was not bad. However, they did have a distraction on their faces. It could have been a lot better since we know how well these two can dance.

Satish/DD: It was great to see them back. But it sucks how DD got sick. Their dance was good. The beginning though should have had something with DD in it. Satish is great at Western and DD was cute with her duet. Today their dance was felt uncomplete. I realize that DD was sick since she looked like she was going to faint while hearing the judges comments. The overall dance was lacking something. Their dance also felt shorter than everyone else.

Sai/Sherrif: Out of the huge song choices I felt that their song was really bad. I found their dance boring too. They were dull today. But I liked the use of the props and the swinging from the cloth was good. The choreo was good and they never really made mistakes. But for the Bollywood theme they lacked style and attention.

Geethan/Divya: Geethan is so cute. He has great expressions and energy. Their dance from the beginning was nice to watch. Both of them did a good job but I never saw Divya. My eyes were at Geethan the whole time. Overall they suited that Bollywood theme.

When the judges announced the best jodis, I was shocked. I thought Prem/Premini deserved it this week. Wong and Sunita were also good as a jodi. I have no idea why they never picked those two.

Something that bothered me was how short their dances were. If you were to look at their dances, they only dance for around 4 minutes. The judges talk way more than the actual dancing. Its week 9 and they never put a set or given a variety or rounds. I would like to see something new from Vijay TV. They need to kick the show up another level or else its going to be the same old boring types of dances. Another thing I want is a male judge. A third judge is definetly needed on the show. They should get a male choreographer who is currently choreographing to get another perspective to the show.

Overall this week was ok but lets hope next week they do something that is new.
