Chapter 1 -
The moon, with its serene calmness peeked through the curtains of a room, in the dark shadows of the night, to find a man being haunted by beautiful nightmares. His pale, bearded face, clearly showed how he had lost the reason to live, yet was holding onto something. Hope is often disastrous and often pleasing. Each day, he would feel his hope crashing, yet won't let go of it. Someday, he will find his Swara. Someday the pillow that he clutches close to his chest and sleeps, would be replaced by his wife, his life, his Swara. Sanskaar sighed and closed his eyes, letting his tears flow. The moon took great pity on him. His misery was too much for such a pure one like her to bear. But she was witnessing the helplessness of someone else too. There was one more, who wasn't able to sleep well this night, completely in distress.
Now she looked at a girl standing at the window looking at her. She wished she could smile at this petite one, whose life had taken a drastic turn in this past one year. The girl couldn't remember anything. She was told that she lives with her Maa and Baba, but yet there is something..empty, in her heart, thinking deep upon which, causes her head to spin. She was supposed to be a bubbly cheerful girl, yet all day what she does is scorn and scowl and frown and scold. What happened with her? Can she have her everything back please?? The girl sent a silent prayer to the moon with tears clouding in her big sorrowful eyes. No! Not anymore! The moon gave up, this melancholy was too much. And clouds hid her to help her conceal her tears. And the light bands of dawn emerged slowly dissolving the dark shadows of the night in it, to bring a new spectrum of light in the lives of these two.
"I want this deal at any cost." Sanskaar Maheshwari commanded.
"Sir, we'll try our best."
"No!! You will do your best. I want this deal for my music school anyhow. This will be a great exposure and will prove out to be really helpful" Sanskaar said thoughtfully.
"Is it all? Then get working! I want all preparations done by tomorrow, you get it?"
"Yes sir"
"Then stop looking at me and get going" With these he banged the table and sat down on his chair, both his hands joined and his mind thinking hard. His team left the room, clearly perplexed by their sirs' mood-swings.
Ragini Maheshwari witnessed this entire scene. Tears welled up in her eyes, seeing this state of her friend and brother-in-law. The loss of her sister had made him so ruthless, depriving him of smile and laughter. Wiping those rivulets flowing down her cheeks, she went to him.
"Sanskaar, there isn't a need to shout at your employees like this, I guess." She said.
"Ragini, what brings you here?" He asked
"Chachiji sent this for you. She is pretty concerned about your health. Have you lunch Sanskaar. Staying hungry is not going to help you."
"I don't want to have it." Sanskaar replied grimly. His nostrils flared with anger making Ragini worried. She decided to leave it here.
"I'm leaving it here Sanskaar. Do have it, for Swara's sake at least. I'm going to your academy. I've to teach lessons there. Take care, Jijaji." She emphasized on the last word again reminding him of Swara, so that he eats his meal, and then she left.
Sanskaar looked at the lunch box. It was as if every object reminds him of Swara. He knows she is there. She is somewhere out here, yet she doesn't come to him, which gives him excruciating pain. Every day he calls out to her, in his thoughts, his prayers.
"Can you hear me? If you can then please come back to me Swara, please come back. I need you, Princess" He thought and with that opened the lunch box.
And somewhere, somebody choked on the morsel of food that she was having. She coughed hard. Her mother brought her a glass of water and asked her to drink it. She drank it and somehow involuntarily raised her head up, as if some hand was pushing her chin up, with extreme gentleness and love. She stopped coughing and again felt something, in that space. Her hand, on its own went to her chest trying to reduce the queer pain that she was feeling there. Taking in heavy breaths, she clutched the locket that she wore, with SS written on it, trying to remember something...anything.
"What is happening?" She pondered, and left for the washroom.
So this was it, I hope it gives some insight as to what the story has. As I already mentioned it has been one year since the prologue. Now how the story progresses will come in the chapters ahead. Will be awaiting all feedbacks and comments and likes.
