Now coming to the story...well im sure u r completely tired reading abt how beautifully u write n express the emotions of each character so m gonna refrain frm doing tht...

I loved it how sanskaar investigated ragini's actions to malign swara's character despite his present anger towards her tho mayb he had done so bfr she acted so rashly tho still his defence fr her is so heartwarming. I also liked the fact tht he is still aware of his hand in ragini's transformation into an evil witch and is now trying to rectify his mistake along with attempting to help ragini achieve some peace fr herself. ... tho it remains to be seen if she will heed his advice or not.

Now pls update the next part soon...cant wait fr swasan scenes. ..tho was very happy sanskaar is ignoring swara n shez trying to gain his attention. ...quite a change!

Hey Tasneem. ...🤗 🤗

By the way, before I reply to your lovely, heart warming comment, I wanted to tell ya something which I wanted to a long time back, but I keep forgetting. I just LOVE your name. 😊 Its the name of a character in one of my favorite novels, "A Suitable Boy" by Vikram Seth, and I've always thought the name has such a poetic ring to it.

Thanks so much for your detailed comment, I felt very touched that you liked the writing style and the character portrayals.

Sanskaar is of course hurt that Swara felt the need to question him, without trusting him implicitly. But he is always going to be her knight in shining armor, standing by her to protect her. 😉 He would keep a certain distance, to allow himself to heal from that pain, and also to give her time and space to realize what their relationship means, but he is never going to abandon her. His love for her is too deep. 😳

And yeah, I do feel that Sanskaar is the person who will most help Ragini in her path to redemption. Previously, when he was a gray character, his influence certainly pushed Ragini on the path to wrongdoing, though of course she has to take responsibility for her own actions. Sanskaar tried desperately to turn her back from the brink, but she was probably too far gone then. I think Sanskaar would definitely give her a second chance to redeem herself.

I will certainly make Swara pine for Sanskaar, and thirst for his affection and care. 😳 Its high time she realized what he means to her, na? 😉

Am working on chapter 2 and shall update soonest I can. Work is a bit hectic at the moment. 😕

Sanskar was awesome like always and Swara too can be seen walking towards the journey of pining😆 Waiting for update!

Hey...thanks so much for your lovely comment. 😊 I felt very, very happy to hear you liked this chapter so much, you've read it thrice. 😳 Thanks yaar...that was a huge compliment.

I really wanted to show some more depth and layers to Ragini's character. I find her fascinating, and she did have a lot of good in her, before she started down this path.

I feel Sanskaar would definitely support her and give her a chance to redeem herself, it will be a kind of closure for him too, since he had earlier influenced her, in way, in her transition from good to bad, though he did try to pull her back from the brink, too.

In fact, Lakshya is also responsible in a sense, for the change in Ragini's character. If he hadn't treated her feelings so callously, and broken her heart twice, she may still have remained the sweet and unassuming person she was.

I will be making Swara pine a lot for Sanskaar. 😳

Hi all...thanks a ton for all the very warm and lovely comments. I'm taking a bit of time to reply individually, as I had some errands to be run at home over the weekend, plus of course writing out part 2. 😊 But I'm reading all the feedback, and I'm very touched. 🤗
Will pakka reply to all comments within later today, and am hoping to have chapter 2 up tonight or latest tomorrow. Work is a bit tight at the moment. 😕

Hey 😳,

Wonderfully insightful piece on Ragini. Really liked the way you distinguished between Ragini's love for Laksh and Sanskaar's love for Swara. The warnings and advice Sanskaar gave to her was nothing OTT, but just simple reality- wish Ragini would be a little more perceptive and realises that she's destroying herself in the process of her revenge in the show too.

I especially liked this sentence:

And the curse which Ragini suffered from was, the burning fire would not stop, just because the recipient was gone. It burnt, on and on, getting hotter and hotter, a hell-fire that seemed ready to consume her--both its host, and its victim.

Thank you for the PM.😊

Hi Ros. ..

Thanks so very much for your lovely comment. Am glad you liked this chapter. I find Ragini's character very fascinating, and I wanted to explore the layers and edges to it in a bit of detail. After all, she did have a lot of good in her, before she embarked down this path of wrongdoing.

I do feel Sanskaar would be the person supporting and encouraging her on her path to redemption. It would be a closure of sorts to him, too, I think he does feel guilty for having encouraged her to take those wrong steps, back in the time when he was a grey character. Though he had frantically tried turn her back from the brink, it was a little too late then.

But now, I'm sure, he would be willing to give her a second chance to repent and redeem herself. I like their Frenemy bond, so I wanted to delve into that a bit here. Glad you liked it. 😊

Yayyy! Finally your TS is here! What a Part 1- of course as its from you, it had to be good. I am loving the musical theme. My mum is a classical music student too, I stuck only to the classical dance but as part of that obviously have some affinity to/ understanding of to the music too. I am thrilled you explored Ragini and that too so well in this Vij! I have always found her fascinating as you know and in this work, a very "real" Ragini comes across and then her consequent madness is somehow understandable. A whole process we always lack in the show. The descriptions of the music and the Radha-Krishna song took me straight back to my Kathak lessons and reminded me of learning the todas and one of my favourite "gatts" was a Radha-themed one in this Raag I am sure!
What I particularly loved too was the Sanskaar- Ragini equation. As you know, I am so anxious to see this back and have always had a real soft spot for these frenemies. Sanskaar was so amazing as usual- he understood but still made his stand clear but with tolerance and giving her a way, not stupidly reacting like some would have!
Overall, great start and really anxious to read the rest! Mmmwaah and love always xxx

Hey Shru...🤗 🤗

Hey, that's great to know that you learned Kathak. ...I'd learned the violin for 6 years, stopped formal lessons when I was preparing for my 12th boards, but I still practise occasionally.

Very glad you liked the music theme...swaragini started on that na...but now we never get to see any of that, except for a stray reference to a music teacher in Benares. 😊 So I wanted to explore that here.

I find Ragini a fascinating character, there are a lot of edges and layers to her which I wanted to explore. She had a lot of good in her before after all (and I would wager, she still does), and though she has to take responsibility for her own actions, both Lakshya and Sanskaar did facilitate her descent down this obsessive path. You know my opinion about Lakshya, so I guess you would agree with me perfectly, when I say Ragini deserved better than a guy who broke her heart callously, not once but twice!! And then decided to pursue the sister of the girl whom he had got engaged twice to! 🤢

I also find the Sanskaar and Ragini Frenemy bond absolutely fascinating. I feel Sanskaar does, somewhere, feel guilty about his role in pushing Ragini down this path, though he had done his best once, to turn her back from the brink. I'm sure, he is going to give her a second chance to redeem herself.

Hard at work on part 2 now. 😊

You have delved deep in to the very recess and brought forth a very intelligent psychoanalysis of her character. The narration helps the reader view Ragini from a different vantage point. This Ragini stirs something inside you and you realize that she is such a tormented soul. I think Sanskar somehow realizes this and is giving her the opportunity to free herself from this torture.

Waiting for the next part Viji. The last part kind of makes you root for her hoping she will grab the lifeline Sanskar has offered her.
🤗

Hey Ruqu. ...🤗

Thanks for the amazing comment dear...I was very humbled and touched by your feedback.

Am very glad you liked Ragini's portrayal here. I find her character very fascinating, she had a lot of good in her before, and I would think it's still there, hidden within. I wanted to explore the layers and edges in her nature. I also feel a touch of sympathy for her. 😊

Sanskaar, I think, feels a little guilty still, for having initially pushed her on this path towards her obsessive behavior, when he was a gray character earlier. Of course, he did try desperately to pull her back from the abyss, but she was too far gone down this path by then. I'm quite sure Sanskaar would want to give her a second chance to repent and redeem herself, after all, who better than Sanskaar to know the importance of an opportunity o redeem oneself.

Am working on part 2 now 😊. Hope to update by tomorrow.

Viji have been waiting for this since last week. I knew however that with what was happening on the show, it wasn't really easy to write. I know since that's happening to me as well. Working on a TS since last week and still haven't managed to finish it So sorry I'm late to reply on this one Viji. Down with cold and fever from past 2 days , I finally got a chance to come online now and saw this one on my inbox.

But I'm so happy that we finally get to read it.🤗

Firstly, I love the fact that you chose to include Ragini in this one.😃 I have always enjoyed her character on the show. I especially love the Sanskaar-Ragini equation. Like I have always mentioned, these two are definitely the knights that would decide the fate of the battle. So to see how you have managed to bring their equation here and ore importantly bring out the fundamental and major differences between them was amazing!

I hated Laksya's reasoning when he said, Ragini does not truly love him because if she did she would have harmed herself and not others. No matter how wrong or mental Ragini's love for Lakshya is, it is love. Now it may not be the good kind of love of course, but it's true nonetheless. You know how much I admire and love Sanskaar's love for Swara. It's the purest and the most ideal kind of love. The kind of love a girl dreams about. So the comparison was beautiful.

I liked the little flashback into the past where you explain the kid Ragini and her love for her mother which ultimately got her immersing herself into the same passion as her mothers in order to feel connected with her. That felt very real and beautiful. I haven't watched the show from the beginning so I never knew her pre - Sanskaar Swaragini, so I enjoyed reading this part about her.

I do not have any knowledge about classical music, but I however did enjoy how you cleverly managed to incorporate music to relate to people's feelings. It was brilliantly done. Loved the first part Viji. Nothing less amazing is expected from truly one of the best writers in the forum.😃

Was definitely worth the wait. So so happy you finally could post this one🤗 Eagerly waiting to read the next 2 parts.😃

Edit - How could I forget, I am seriously over Ragini becoming MM's head track. Seriously? How does that happen?😕 I can't think of one proper explanation unless Sanskaar and Durga both transfer their property to her and why in the world would they do that?🤓

I love Teju's new look of course but what in the world does being modern have to do with taking revenge?😆

Hey Geethu...🤗 🤗

Firstly, I hope you recover very soon yaar. Fevers and colds sucker, I am prone to colds myself and I get bugged how drained it makes you feel sometimes. Hoping you bounce back very soon. 🤗

Was very, very touched by your comment. Am so glad you liked this piece, and Ragini's portrayal. As I think I've told you before, I find her character very fascinating, she had a lot of good in her before, and I guess she still does, somewhere. I wanted to explore the layers and edges in her nature, in this chapter.

You're perfectly right, Ragini and Sanskaar, the erstwhile chela and Guru, are the Generals in this battle Royale on the serial, Lakshya has no brains anyway, he has a vacuum where his grey cells should be, and Base cunning where his guts should be !! 😆
Seriously, Ragini deserves better. Swara is way too mahaan to match her pati's intellect, nor her sister's, for that matter!

As you know, I've always been fascinated by the Sanskaar and Ragini Frenemy bond, and I wanted to show that here. I do feel Sanskaar would definitely give Ragini a second chance to redeem herself. He already tried to pull her back from the brink once, once Swara made him realize the error of his ways, but Ragini was too far gone by then.

I think Sanskaar would definitely find a full closure to that bitter chapter in his life, by supporting Ragini in her attempt to repent for her sins, and redeem herself.

I also wanted to compare and contrast what Sanskaar feels for Swara; with what Ragini feels for Lakshya, and am so happy you liked that part.

Thanks for saying you liked that delving into Ragini's past with her mom. Actually, much of that was my imagination. 😉 We were shown in the serial, how Janki died tragically when Ragini was just 5, but it wasn't shown if Janki was musically inclined or had a sitar. I wanted to show that background to Ragini, so kinda made that up for this piece. It makes sense, I do think, in the way Ragini's character developed. That first concert etc was my imagination too. 😊

And I agree completely with you---I want Ragini to become confident and poised, and realize she deserves better than Lakshya. I would love for her to slap him, definitely. But why on earth are they making her the malkin of the entire MM house/business...makes no sense.

And yes, I feel uneasy that they are implying, the only way Ragini can be confident and self assured, if she changes her dress style, and acts totally in your face. Nothing wrong with modern wear, we all use that day to day, and Teju, like you said, rocks the look. But they could have shown her being confident and assertive, even in traditional wear, right? That's what Ragini was always comfortable in. I feel wary that they would show her in a modern avatar, the hate marriage with Lakshya will change over time to love, and then they will shift Ragini back into traditional wear, to show her return to a pati vrata nari type!! I do hope they don't go down that road...it's frustrating the way the serials sometimes conflate "goodness" with traditional wear; and "aggression" or "negativity" with modern wear...

Sorry if I am ranting! 😳

Viji----
For the first time I am res-ing.

I am pretty much on the verge of getting desentisized with the show...have decided to pursue CFA alongside job--hence madly busy with studies.😔--told ya once, i regularly quit shows in the middle whenever i have things coming up.:((--plus the CVs certainly have helped my process of getting weaned off.

will read the whole when you post all the parts...and seriously do not wanna give you a half assed comment..just not my style.
Un-res😃

Viji..I watched a mindblowing swasan scene with the blazer and kathputli today...and am very happy...so decided to peek in. and this was ready.⭐️

Okay..I have heard of these raagas of course, but not being a student of music..am not sure of which is which. heard of malhar(rains i think)...deepak for fire..and bhairavi for morning and oh, khambaj and bagesri😃. rest i learnt here.

Somehow the first and third parts were my favourites. The first part was like a windswept cliff over a raging sea..or it gave me a feel of something like that at least. The dynamic ragini...the old memories of janaki...her childhood and adulthood..the love..the betrayal...and the effects and after effects. and finally the coming to senses.

The swasan scenes, the particular favourite was the one with the description of his eyes. reminded me of my wee work on a date wala os. it had something like that mentioned in passing, of course knowing me, it was nothing as deep as urs.👏

I adored the place where ragini teaches the children the raaga..and swara comes in applauding her sister. and the slight teasing about sanky😉beautifully done.

The reconciliation...and of course the ending paras on the 1st and 3rd parts...just genius⭐️

I adored your works on AP and DP most till date..the elements series, this one was a very close third.

love ya--

With every new story you surpass your own Benchmark
Abida perveen reminds me of Raqs e bismil (Dance of the wounded)..those wounded in love!!
I literally felt that this story is the prose form of dance of wounded .How beautifully and poignantly have you described the essence and meaning of love, that implies to these characters.
Love surely is the best and worst thing to be in.It can bring out best and worst from people
Ragini ,the simple naive innocent girl turned into an out an out a evil person, all cause of love.Unreciprocated love is the most painful feeling,Ragini couldnt come to terms with the fact that palsy doesn't love her.First she thought that nothing could be done about that when sanskaar showed her a way ,she couldn't help but to stride on that path how much wrong or difficult it may be!
Sanskaar, his love is the love in its purest form,he sees his happiness in the happiness of his beloved
His love is selfless unconditional and pure ,His love for swara has made him into a better person while laksh's love proved to be suicidal for ragini
You wrote about Abida perveen so I remember one of her songs where she sings about true love
Mountains of agony, i bear in your love now,
come what may.
The luxuries of life, i forsake now, come what
may.
In the fervor of love, the threads of being
seared,
the fabric of body, form, self; all charred now,
come what may.
Rise from the seminary of reason, enter the
tavern of love
From chalice of annihilation and selflessness,
drink now, come what may.
The pangs of seperation, I bared before the
beloved
With an airy smile said, "now, come what
may."
In the mirage of this body, I seek the night
only
And if Adam appears with the morning, I could
raise the feet, come what may!

Viji you are master of writing human emotions.I so loved how you described each and every emotion with such detail ..take a bow dear
Eagerly waiting for the next two parts
Love Samiya

Samiya...my dear friend...🤗 🤗

Once again, I just want to say, what an absolute privilege and pleasure it is for me, to get such comments from you. I mean that, from the bottom of my heart. Each time you read and comment on what I've written, I feel so incredibly moved--I am touched and humbled at the same time, by your very generous words.

Am so very glad you liked my portrayal of the different shades of love, in a sense. You put it so well, love can bring out both the best, as well as the worst in onself, depending upon the type of love you feel, and for whom.

Sanskaar's love for Swara elevated him, brought him out of that dark cavern of hate and bitterness in which he buried himself after Kavita's demise. But Ragini's love for Lakshya, an obsessive, fanatical pursuit, has blinded her, robbed her of her inherent goodness, and made her what she is today. Am very happy that you liked this contrast which I tried to show.

The song by Begum Abida Parveen which you quoted, was so amazing. I just love how you recall and weave in poetry and verse with your comments. You have the soul of a poet, please do enrich us soon with your poetry, on SwaSan or anything else you choose to write on.

Thanks again for this amazing comment which really made my day. 🤗
