CHAPTER 16

Sanskaar held swara's hand as they were about to go towards baadi but suddenly sanskaar's phone started to ring. He picked it up still holding swara's hand and she was looking at him

Sanskaar: haan maa?

Sujata: sanskaar yeh mai kia sun rai hoon teri gaari mai dhamaka howa hai? Tu theek hai na beta?

Sujata was panicked

Sanskaar sighed: maa relax main theek hoon thori dair mai ghar ajaon ga phir akay btata hoon

Sujata: na tu abhi ghar aa isi wakt..

Sanskaar: haan maa main bs thori

Swara signaled him of not to argue

Sanskaar nodded to swara : okay maa main araha hoon

He cut the call and looked at her: swara abhi toh humay baadi jana than a?

Swara: baad mai sanskaar abhi maa pareshan horai hongi

Sanskaar: par yeh bhi toh

She put her hand on his lips to stop him from talking

Swara : ab aur kuch nahi mai maa ko phone kardon gi. Hum baad mai baadi chalay jaein gai.. iss wakt ghar jana zada zarori hai. Mai bohat achay sai samjhati hoon kai jab aek bacha maa dur hojata hai toh kaisa lagta hai.. maa ko ekh dekh kai main sujata maa ki pareshani samjh sakti hoon. Jis tran maa ragini keliye tarapti hain uss tran

A tear slipped from her eyes and sanskaar blocked it putting his finger on her cheek: bas swara ab aur ansoo nahin

He stepped a little closer : everything will be fine ..

And kissed her forehead while she closed her eyes inhaling his scent. Sanskaar closer to her was making her feel safe

She smiled a little

MAHESHWARI MANSION

Sujata was moving here and there waiting for sanskaar to and Annapurna was standing in front of God's idol praying: bhagwan yeh meray ghar mai kia horaha hai?

Durga parsad was sitting on the sofa in sheer tension.

Sujata: hona kai hai jiji.. jabsay wo dono behnein iss ghar main aai hain sab galat hi howay hai. Wo swara kisi jadugarni sai kum na hai. Maray larkay ki zindagi mai graihan bankay lag gai hai. Acha howa wo chali gai uski parchai bhi na parnay doon gi mai apnay sanskaar par.

She turned around towars the main entrance and saw sanskaar standing with swara while holding her hand. Sujata saw how tightly he was holding swara's hand

Sanskaar with swara came down towards them standing in front of sujata. Sanskaar put his arm around swara's shoulder bringing her closer as sujata angrily looked at swara while sanskaar said : maa aj agar mai apkay samnay khara hoon baat karsakta hoon toh wo sirf iss larki ki waja sai hai jisay ap jadugarni keh rai hain

Swara looked at sanskaar as he supported her , her eyes filled with tears as she always blamed sanskaar and argued and fought with him and today he was supporting her

Sujata: sanskaar

She shouted

Sanskaar: chilaye mat maa.. ar jin behno ko ap blame daal rai hain na.. aek keh janay ki waja sai ap lucky ki halat toh dekh hi sakti hain

Durga parsad and Annapurna exchanged sad glances at the mention of laksh and ragini . sanskaar moved towards Annapurna as she hugged him

Annapurna : tum theek ho na beta ?

Sanskaar: haan bari maa main bilkul theek hoon. Car ka chota sa accident tha swara nai bacha lia .

He turned and looked at swara passing a smile and she smiled back

Sujata to swara : chori tut oh bohat jhooti nikli . tut oh keh rai thi iss ghar main tabhi wapis aye gi jab teri wo mari behen wapis aye gi

Swara was hurt and controlled her anger: maa main iss ghar main wapis aai hoon takay ragini ko iss ghar mai wapis lai kay aoon . aur yeh ghar hum dono behno ka bhi hai.

Sujata: tujhay yahan rehna hai toh reh par kisi ko jhooti umeed na dilwa khas kar laksh ko

Laksh just entered and was standing on the stair case

Sujata: ku kai ragini mar chuki hai

Laksh felt that someone stabbed a knife in his stomach by listening to ragini's name with death. She was his life. he looked at all and straight went to his room.

Sanskaar: maa

Sanskaar said with a little high pitch

He was about to say something when Annapurna stopped him: bohat behas hogai.. tum aur swara jao jakay aram karo tab tak mai mandir jakay ati hoon . apnay bacho ki khushi aur salamti keliye bhagwan sai dua mang kai ati hoon

She was about to go when durga parsad said : ruko Annapurna , hum bhi tumharay sath chaltay hain

Annapurna was shocked as durga parsad never came to mandir and that too with her. But she nodded ..

KAPOOR'S VILLA

Ansh was on phone : what? How the hell he is alive? Tumsay aek kaam theek nahi hota? Sanskaar maheshwari kaisay zinda hai ? kisnay bachaya usay?

What? (he paused) swara nai? How the hell she reached to save him?

He cut the call in anger and threw the cell on the floor and it broke..

Ansh: I can't lose! I just can't... main unlogo ko chain ki saans nahi lainay doon ga... crippled toh mai unko kar hi chukka hoon par ab unka bacha howa sahara bhi cheena hai...

He went towards ragini's room , opened the door and saw that it was empty. He stopped the servant and asked : madam kahan hain?

Servant: sir madam toh mandir gai hain

Ansh nodded : mandir...

He repeated as he took out his other phone and dialed a number..

Ragini was standing in front of the God's idol in the mandir her eyes had tears and she prayed in her heart: bhagwan please in sab museebaton sai humsabko nikaliye.. please yeh sab kia hogya .. zindagi itni mushkil hojaye gi kabhi bhi socha nahi tha.. apnay parivaar kai itnay kareeb hotay vay hum unko yeh bhi nahi keh saktay kai hum ragini hain. Humari behen swara baar baar apni zindagi ki khushian humari waja sai kho daiti hai. Agar apko chai toh beshak humay humari awaz wapis mat deejay par sabkuch theek kardeejay bhagwan please. Hum apnay maa papa kai paas wapis jana chahty hain . apni dadi kai paas , nani maa kai paas . aek baar swara ko galay lagana chahty hain aur btana chahty hain kai hum usay bohat pyar kartay hain. Aur laksh jabsay wo humari kismat kai sath juray hain unhay bas takleef hi howi hai. Kia hum aek mauka bhi deserve ni kartay unko yeh btanay ka kai hum unsay behad pyar kartay hain aur hamesha kartay rahein gai. Jab khwab poray hi ni honay thay toh phir khwab deekhaye hi ku? Hum kab tak akelay ansh sai larein gai. Humay itni himat ni hai.. hum darr chukay hain.. humay humari behen ki zarorat hai. Laksh ki zarorat hai.

She cried and turned around to go but saw Annapurna and durga parsad entering the mandir . ragini looked here and there she would not be able to face them right now. Ragini ran behind the God's idol and hid behind it

Annapurna and durga parsad came and joined their hands praying

Annapurna : bhagwan aj apnay meray sanskaar ko bacha kai mujhpai aur meray parivaar pai bohat bari kripa ki hai. Yeh sab jo mushkilein meray bachon ki zindagiyon mai hain un sabko dur kardaina. Unko khush rakhna apka kaam hai.

Ragini listen to it and more tears came from her eyes .

Durga parsad: hosakay toh laksh ko itni himat daina kai wo ragini ki maut ko apna sakay aur apni zindagi mai agay barhay

Ragini shut her eyes listening to that

Annapurna to durga parsad : jab hum kisi cheez mai bharosa daltay hain toh nirash nahi hotay

Durga parsad: galt cheezon mai bharosa dalnay walay hamesha takleef hi jheltay hain

Annapurna : sahi galt ka faisla karnay walay ap ya mai kaun hotay hain

With that she turn around and walked towards the exist. As durga parsad was gone too ragini came out and looked at them

Annapurna stood in between the road as durga parsad was on phone . she was waiting for the driver to come . as she was waiting a car with full speed was coming towards her.. ragini who was looking at them waiting for them to go saw the car coming towards Annapurna and she ran towards her while auctioning through her hands to move away but as she couldn't speak . as the car was about to hit her ragini pushed Annapurna away and both fell on the side of the road. Durga parsad noticed this and ran towards them. He helped Annapurna stand as she was fixing her clothes . ragini stood up and both annapurna and durga parsad looked at her.. ragini looked down not facing their faces.

Durga parsad: apka bohat bohat shukriya.

Ragini nodded still looking down. She was so scared, if anything happened to Annapurna . she couldn't even think. Annapurna was not only laksh's mom but she was her mom too.

Annapurna held ragini's hand which she with-drew them immediately joining her hands together and asking them for a leave .. she went from there.. Annapurna was still looking at her remembering what swara told all

(swara: yeh jhoot bol rai hai, yeh ragini hai)

Annapurna looked at the mandir again and a smile came her face..

MAHESHWARI MANSION

Annapurna and durga parsad came and as they came laksh saw scratches on her maa's face . swara and sanskaar came towards them too

Laksh : maa yeh apko kia hogya ? yeh chot kaisay aai?

Swara : boliye na bari maa?

Sanskaar touched her head : ill call the doctor

Annapurna: nahi sanskaar mai theek hoon beta..

She put her hand on laksh's cheek calming him : mai theek hoon laksh

Swara : par yeh howa kaisay?

Durga parsad: hum dono mandir kai bahar kharay thay tabhi aek gari Annapurna ki traf aria thi

Laksh moved a little back as a fresh scene of ragini getting hit by the truck and car entered his mind. The way she fell off the hill. The way she was covered with blood

Swara hugged Annapurna: bari maa ap theek toh hain na?

Laksh was still

Annapurna : haan beta main theek hoon tumhari behen nai wakt pai bacha lia.. laksh ki ragini nai apni maa ko bacha lia.

Laksh looked at Annapurna shocked to what she said .

Durga parsad: Annapurna wo ragini nahi rachna hai

She looked at swara : wo ragini hi hai.. warna rachna naam kai kisi shakhs ko koi zarorat nahi thi apni jaan ko mushkil mai daal kai meri jaan bachanay ki..

Swara cried and then smiled a little realizing what Annapurna meant . she knew she had faith that she was ragini only. She went to her room

Laksh was still in daze as Annapurna touched his head : bohat baar suna tha sachay pyar kai baray mai aj dekh bhi lia, jaan bhi lia aur maan bhi lia

Laksh with teary eyes looked at Annapurna and hugged her crying non stop..

Sanskaar went after swara . he opened his room door and saw swara who was crying hugging hers and ragini's picture. Swara looked at ragini and her photo frane and touched ragini's face remembering how they use to have fun and end up hugging each other finding peace in each other's arms

" tu jo gai

Toh suna hoga yeh jahan"

She cried and the tears fell on ragini's face.. she wiped the

"bheegi bheegi

Hogi sari yeh dastaan"

She hugged their picture again and sat down on floor hugging it tightly and crying loudly . sanskaar came and sat on the floor with swara.. she saw him and put her ehad on his shoulder. While he embraced her tightly . swara held the picture as tightly as she can

"tumasay juri hai

Har khushi

Teray bina kia hai yahan"

Sanskaar wiped her tears and aksed her to smile.. swara smiled a bit but again started to cry hiding her face in his neck..

"chahein tumhay hum

Mangein tumhay

Sun lai dua yeh asmaan"

Sanskaar: baadi chalein?

Swara nodded both went out but swara stopped

Swara : sanskaar abhi ni . kal karwa chauth hai aur shaid kuch tyari karni hai sujata maa phir gusa hojaein gi.

Sanskaar: toh theek hai mai jata hoon.. kuch hoga toh phone karon ga .

He turned to go when she held his arm

Swara: apna khyal rakhna sanskaar..

Sanskaar smiled hugging her last time before going.

Swara turned to go in her room with the photo frame in her hand when she heard laksh crying. She went and stood out at the door of his and ragini's room

Laksh: main swara ko theek kehta tha.. tum bohat ziddi ho

He cried and swara looked at him

Laksh: aur kitna tang karnay ka irada hai? Aur kitna badla laina hai mujsy?

"choti choti

Khwabon ka aa jedein gai"

Swara looked at her photo frame and then saw laksh who was talking to ragini's photo frame.

Laksh: pyar ka ehsas dila kai kahan chali gai best friend?

"yeh bhi vada

Na tumhay hum chorein gai"

He hugged her picture : come back please

I beg you..

"ab na tumhay janay daei gai"

At BAADI

Sankaar entered the house and shekhar saw him

Shekhar: sanskaar beta? Tum yahan? Sab theek hai?? Swara theek hai? Uska phone aya tha..

Sanskaar: calm down baba.. sab theek hai apki swara bilkul theek hai .

Shekhar: aj kal bohat darr jata hoon ragini kai janay kai baad swara hi toh hai.

Sharmishta came from kitchen: ragini kahin ni gai hai shekhar . agar dekho gait oh samjho gai.

She said with finality in her tone

Sharmishta: meri beti ko baar baar mara va kehtay ho mujhy bilkul acha ni lagta

Shekar: wo meri bhi beti thi . mishti samjho

Sharmishta: mai swaragini ko laikay tumsai larna ni chahti shekar..

She looked at sanskaar: kia baat hai beta ?

Sanskaar: maa wo ragini ka kuch written form mai para va hai

Shekhar looked at sanskaar confused: kia written form?

Sanskaar: kuch bhi jo usnay apny hathon sai likha ho?

Shekhar and sharmishta looked at eachother

Dadi: haan hai .. aek minute

She went and came back with ragini's diary

Dadi: yeh uski dairy thi

She said with a teary tone

Sanskaar took it : thank you mai chalta hoon

Sharmishta: aek minute? Par tumhay yeh ku chai tha?

Sanskaar: wo swara ko chai tha ..

With that he went out and sat in his car.. taking out the paper swara gave him with had that note to save sanskaar and opened ragini's diary .. he put both the writings together and was shocked to his core as both the writings were ditto .

Sanskaar looked up : iska matlab...

He put his head on the deat remembering the time swara always said that ragini was alive .. and he never belived her.. Never ever.. and then he remembered laksh's state how he had passed these three months with barely breathing and doing nothing else.. and then he remembered ansh saying

Ansh: yeh kia ragini ragini lagaya howa hai yeh rachna hai my wife

Sanskaar touched his forehead and went to his office.. he need to solve this matter out..

Sanskaar parked his car outside his office and saw ansh coming out of his office

Sanskaar came out of his car as ansh came to him

Ansh: mr sanskaar maheshwari mai yahan apsay hi milnay aya tha. Kal ki party ka invitation dainay aya tha phir dekha kai office mai koi bhi head nahi hai . I understand apki family personal crisis sai guzar rai hai. Chota bhai waisay hi apni patni kai ghum mai mar raha hai and all

Sanskaar looked at ansh in anger: don't worry mr ansh kapoor. Apko meri family aur meray bhai ka sochnay ki itni zarorat ni hai.. actually humari aek bohat keemti cheez hai wo kisi nai lai li hai

Sanskaar said looking staright at ansh: bas wohi dhondh rahay thay . par shaid ab mil jaye toh hum party mai zaror aein gai. Waisay bhi kal aek bohat hi auspicious occasion hai soch raha hoon iss par apnay bhai ko wo keemti cheez gift kardon

Ansh was confused: what do you mean?

Sanskaar: apki tran peechay sai vaar karnay ki adat ni hai hu maheshwari's ko . bomb laganay ki jaga himat karkay samnay sai vaar kartay toh mai apko iss baat ka matlab bta bhi daita anyways agar yad ho toh maine apko aek baat kahi thi

Ansh remembered (sanskaar: agar mai apni shrafat bhool gaya na toh phir apka kia hoga yeh koi ni janta)

Sanskaar smiled: mai wo shrafat bhool chukka hoon. Humara intezar ki jaga ..

With that sanskaar went inside his office.

Ansh was shocked as who told him about the bomb planting: aisa kaun karsakta hai kaun

And then ragini's face came to his mind and he shook his head : I told her mai zabardasti ni chahta par...
