I am a loyal Supernatural viewer, loyal to the point that I endured seasons and episodes that made no sense to me. I am even guilty of watching and forgetting most of the things lately. It's like this for me. This is Supernatural, I gotta watch. But this episode, it reminded me of some of the season 5 awesomeness that I liked so very much! There's sure plot holes that you'll identify better. It's not supposed to make perfect sense since the makers themselves have confessed the show wasn't supposed to go on this long, I guess?
The details don't matter all that much to me. For some reason, Dean or Sam's sheer inability to leave the other alone when in peril still gets to me. It frustrates me. But it gets to me too. Sigh. The amulet brought back a river of feels. No shit. Then there were the Chuck and Met scenes which were, surprisingly, an absolute delight for me to watch. Met is despicable, but I will remember him for this and this episode alone. I liked him, everything he said to Chuck in here. It was really, really good to watch the whole thing.
In the matter of Chuck, I had always suspected he's god. I am an atheist who enjoys trivia. I also enjoy Supernatural's version of whatever mythology it is they are getting their stuff from. Call me ignorant or just disinterested, it's fine by me. I viewed it objectively, like a man who created something, and now it disappoints him. Things Chuck said fit well with me. About Dean and Sam, about the believers of god. About the state of humanity, all of it. I am all for LGBT rights, and for people like, bi is the truth of life. That part got a chuckle from me, and that was the end of it. And to just shut up now, I enjoyed having Chuck around. I'm hoping he hangs around for the remaining episodes.
