SUPERNATURAL SEASON 11 SPOILERS...:))

Fans of the show "Supernatural" were glued to the TV last week with the impending fate of Dean (Jensen Ackles), who had called upon Death (Julian Richings) to come and help him either remove the Mark of Cain, or take him away so he could not hurt anyone else, as reported by Bustle.

But, as we all saw, Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean do not ever give in that easy, although they are constantly willing to serve themselves up for others -- or the world.

We saw that Death had refused both of Dean's requests, but he did give him a third option -- to kill Sam and ensure that Dean and the Mark never get found.

The premise here is that the Mark of Cain has a new big bad, not just the perilous badness that was eating Dean alive. The Mark of Cain had entombed a "Darkness" that was locked down in it, way back when God and Lucifer were still smoking cigarettes in their garage and popping their zits.

The eternal darkness still lived within the Mark and removing it meant that it would be released. Death explained to him that if released, a catastrophic event would unfold not just on Earth but in the universe. We then saw Dean (possibly) kill Death with his own scythe and the band came together with Rowena (Ruth Connell) and removed the Mark. Suddenly, The Darkness starting spouting out of the ground from all directions.

This gives way to Season 11, which will obviously be all about The Darkness, as reported on another article on Bustle.

Let's just get one thing out of the way up front. We have seen what apocalyptic endings could possibly look like on "Supernatural" before, but what we have not seen is "Hell on Earth." Sure Dean and Sam both have spent some time in hell and even sacrificed themselves for the greater good to avert Hell on Earth, as we saw when the show was still in it's infancy. We also saw a similar storyline with the Leviathans breaking out of purgatory (thanks Castiel [Misha Collins]). But we have never truly seen an actual "Hell on Earth" season.

So now, the possibility of that actually happening in Season 11 is even greater, considering Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles still have not officially signed a new contract for Season 12. That basically means that we could see our series heroes go down in a blaze of glory trying to defeat or (re)imprison The Darkness.

Of course that is just one theory. A couple of other angles could be planetary chaos (which is basically the same concept) or a universal apocalypse. Either way, the new big bad is coming and our boys are in for the fight of their lives.
