Can the FFs which have been shifted to the FF section for crossing 15 pgs be shifted back to the main forum? if requested mentioning the names...my two FFs has been shifted and they have not yet crossed 50 pgs and i dont want them to rot in FF section 🥱

Yep that's a big true! I get around 10-15 pm's and around 5 scraps from SH Members asking about anything. Even many members scrapped or pmed me when they backed out of WU's or wanted to participate on anything of the forum. :O And even someone asked me for permission of opening a topic, I asked that member to contact Mandy about that, I don't remember what topic that Member wanted to open :/ I guess Mandy needs to open a topic on the forum which says that she is the mod and everyone needs to contact her anything related to SH Forum and not other members. :/

If Mandy agrees to alter the number of pages permitted, I see no problem in moving back fan fictions that have less than the specified amount of pages. Once that's confirmed with Mandy, feel free to drop by at the General Complaints thread at the FF forum and post the links to your fan fictions. Any available DT at that forum will get back to you and move those back ASAP. However, we are going to need confirmation that the rule has been changed.

Also, there seems to be great confusion in regards to why a viewbie is required. Perhaps, you guys could enlighten us. Distribution of power for a Mod/CM/ is required when the forum in question is a trouble forum. Viewbies then handle all issues that may arise at the forum while the bigger issues that may seem out of hand are then taken over by the higher DT.

For the SQ forum specifically, it seems that Mandy is single-handedly ensuring the forum is clean and well taken care of. There is absolutely no need for a viewbie unless it was Mandy who had trouble balancing this forum with the rest. If members are approaching other members instead of the DT, that's unfortunately, their ignorance. At the top of every single forum, the name of the DT is VERY CLEARLY IN BOLD written with the link to the profile. It's not that difficult at all.

If there isn't a Help Desk thread opened at the forum, PM Mandy and ask her to create one. Members can post their questions there instead of using the inbox. Any thread that needs to exist can be asked for. You don't have to sit there, twiddling your thumbs, waiting for a thread to just show up. You definitely don't have to create a 'protest' thread when you know and you admit that the DT of your forum is active and responds to PMs. If Mandy does that, why was this matter not taken up with her by PM? I fail to understand this.

A dedicated DT is someone who follows the rules, makes others follow the rules, closes/locks threads as requested on time and answers all queries when they are asked. Mandy, from the words of all of you here, is doing every one of those tasks. Therefore, she is a dedicated DT and you do not need another 'dedicated DT'. A viewbie would do the same tasks that Mandy is doing. Why does it matter if someone with a blue username does it opposed to someone with a pink one? The bottom line is, the forum has active DT. That's what you guys need and you have it.

Replying to both at once, in point form :)

1. So you want a DT member who will be aware of when and where is help required. May I know how will ANY DT member be aware of which member is having issues, unless and until said DT member contacts someone? And to moderate a forum, you don't need to watch the show. Does the section DT's information about what is happening in the show affect her moderation in any adverse way?

2. You and I both know that SHQ has more newbies and groupbies as opposed to members who have been around for some time. So clearly, these members are unaware of the rules of the forum, and many may not even know of the existence of the DTs. They see active members on the forum and scrap/PM them for issues. If you don't want to answer their doubts, you can simply tell them to contact the authorized person, who is Mandy. Even when I was moderating, I'd have many requests for things that I had no control over, such as deactivation, and I'd direct them to the GMs since I had no say or information in the matter. Similarly, if you don't wanna answer or you don't know the answer, you're not being held at gunpoint and forced to answer their questions. Simply direct them to Mandy, especially since you guys have mentioned yourself how she is extremely active.

3. As for the FF thing, you mentioned that "FFs are rotting in the FF forum". Now honestly, this is an extremely offensive line, especially given that there are a bajillion FFs in the forum of different shows and couples, and to allude that the forum is useless and "FFs rot in there", is kinda disrespectful to the writers who have their FFs there. Also, if you are following a story, you would have commented on it to appreciate the writer, so it would definitely appear in your "My Posts". If not, you can always click on the "Add To Watched Topics" button, and you can track the story by checking your watched topics (link to which can be found in the dashboard drop down menu)

4. I have many other points to say about your definition of a "dedicated DT", but Jot has covered it, so I won't take up everyone's time, and just reiterate that Mandy is a very "dedicated, active, and accessible" DT. No DT member, no VB or Mod or anyone is going to have enough time to sit babysitting the forum 24/7, and I am saying this out of experience. Ask any VB/Mod and they'll tell you the same. Like Jot said, VBs/Mods are needed for forums where issues get out of hand and the CMs need some additional help. But since Mandy is doing a damn fine job at what she does, there are clearly no visible and pertinent issues in the forum that Mandy is failing to handle, all we're trying to understand here is what exactly do you want a DT to do. Jot has very clearly elucidated the definition of a DT and what all do they do, so you may wanna re-read that.

I apologise for how verbose this has become, but as a member of the forum and an ex DT member myself, I honestly am still trying to figure out the exact cause of concern over here.

^ Man, this is why I miss being a part of the DT. Its been a while since I received a PM telling me how I sucked and my moderation sucks and I was good for nothing and I should go worship random stars' pictures.

Ummm...is it required to be a part of the DT to voice your opinion? now thats unfair😲...anyway as far as hate PMs are concerned even i have received those though i am not a part of DT and guess what i got it for... coz i was not worshiping some random star either...😲

Did I say so? I'm just reminiscing the old days, with no reference to her, except that her comment reminded me of my past. Ah, the golden days! Man, even reminiscing is looked at with so much suspicion :(
