Okay ... this suggestion is not directed at anyone in particular, but if the shoe fits, they are welcome to wear it -- I think an IGNORE button alongside the buddy and pm buttons would be a great feature to allow us members to post without being needlessly irked or without feeling uncomfortable by the sheer presence of certain members you'd rather not deal with in any form whatsoever.
It gets worse when they choose to post right in your face in order to rub it in despite knowing that their presence is not appreciated because they like to be rebels or perhaps it's their passive aggressive way of agitating you or getting on your nerves. We all come here to post and have some fun, not to take that kind of crap from anyone, after all, right? It does feel rather uncomfortable when you are posting and chatting about with people you like to hang out with and then that one person picks that exact time to come along to suck the energy out of the atmosphere and leave you with a bad taste.

If there was an IGNORE button, I think half the members of the forum wouldn't feel like leaving certain sections or the forum altogether solely because of one or two pesky ones. Because one can only ignore for so long without letting it get to them. I do think that it's for the greater good of the forum as well as its members on the whole.

Hope the mods take this into consideration .. it would be highly appreciated from my side.

Hey ,
Since its a public forum each and every members has the right to post their views .You can always report the post ,if the contents of the certain post breaches IF COC .

Enabling the ignore button feature would not impede anyone's right to post their views in whatever way they please. People would STILL be able to continue their freedom of speech. The only catch is whatever they say will not be visible to those who have chosen to enlist them in their ignore list. I think it's pretty doable.

People who resort to passive aggressive tactics such as DIGS in their signature boxes, posting sappy and dramatic songs in the threads you post that give post-breakup blues a whole new meaning, making indirect but inflammatory posts during your active hours to get on your nerves, and so forth <-- I think these are legit problems that can be a real nuisance when all you want to do is come here for bit and post without someone else's baggage.

Yeah, I get that we are supposed to "ignore" them but if we had the ignore button much like the block button on FB, the process would be much more doable and oh-so-much easier!

yeah some people are intrusive even online. Once I had this jinn posting love songs all over this section, even now it leaves a bitter taste in my mouth, she gives churails a bad name. Imagine having the ability to press 'ignore' then these jinn's wouldn't bother posting because eventually they would realize that they are an invisible voice. You would get rid of trolls this way too, not me though.

Can you also think about a feature that disables ALL PM's . not everyone likes to receive them, I know you can block some PMs but I dont like PM's even from friends.. its like dump homework on the person and you need to reply..and then they feel bad and then you feel bad... its a cycle of unhappiness. I know you can complain to mods.. but some sections don't have mods.

so you have three issues billicat.

1. ignore button for the jinns
2. disable PM feature for the jinns and friendly jinns
3. find a mod for the love n drugs section please

@hotm3ss ,
Even if the ignore post is implemented just so that it will hide "ignored"member's post from you, the post will again be visible when someone else quotes the "ignored" member 's post . Or the forum should be coded in such a way that ,even when the ignored members post is quoted by another member , it would be hidden to you .And don't you think this will complicate the whole forum? certain posts visible to some and not to someone else. Just my few cents , lets see what technical DT has to say about it .

@d3vil
Everyone has personal likes and dislike , a member cannot be banned from posting just because some other member doesn't like her posts .No action can be taken against a member just because she posts love songs. In case the love songs breaches the IF COC ,you can report her post .

PMs are not only for communication between friends , it is also implemented so as for DTs to communicate with members incase they violate any of the IF rules.

Thank you for forwarding the suggestion to the technical DT despite your opinion, appreciate it! But if you ask me, if we have the ignore button at our disposal, we can just ignore whoever is besties with them and keeps quoting them too. It's that easy, imo. In a public forum, I think it's more doable to have someone on ignore list than to completely stop posting on a section or the forum altogether to remove yourself from the situation. Also, whatever bits and pieces of their posts we do end up seeing regardless, they wouldn't be as jarring as having them around like a sore thumb you don't wanna touch.

I agree with d3vil's suggestion on PMs too... they can be a pain in the neck. Maybe there should be a way for only DT's to be able to contact the members through PMs and let the rest communicate on the forum or through scraps.. cuz they seem a bit pointless with the PM system around.

I didn't say ban her because she posts love songs lolol be creative about it... I think the option of ignoring them is good and if you see them in quotes from other members you have already ignored them and have sidelined them so you are less likely to confront them because they can't see you or your response as well.

PMs could be itemised so that only Veiwables and Mods and Channel Mods and the Three Sisters can PM you. This inbox feature as it is, is intrusive.

And please can you assign * Shruti * in the love forum and make her name appear like yours up there? development love team : *Shruti*

And ALSO we want a new banner.. competition, for that section. who do we approach? our newly assigned DT?

I think there is a lot of purpose to the inbox and PMing. Like if I need to remind someone for something, I actually have a way of doing so, rather than me having to post in the forum and hoping they see my post.

But a disable option for PMs is actually not a bad idea. However, if you really don't want PMs I guess the best policy is to display in your signature box to not send you PMs
