Most of us have been part of India Forums for quite a while now. In fact, many of us have witnessed how IF has evolved in recent years. Back when I started IF in 2004, Vijay took out a fair share of his time for the forums. Interacted with the members and provided written updates of shows like Jaisse Jaisee Koi Nahi. Warning levels were used under exceptional circumstances unlike now, where a particular moderator uses the meter as a tool to shut the non-fans. Humor and Criticism was valued over some general consensus unlike now where you've to praise some XYZ celeb or be prepared for the backlash from some fangirls. Criteria for selecting the moderators was stringent unlike now, where any Tom, Dick and Harry can be promoted to the Dev Team status if they're one of those fangirls who spam their ATs/CCs/Threads with comments like

Not being judgemental or haughty but such comments remind me of soft po*n and really make me puke. However, since I value freedom of speech, I cannot moral police such fangirls/fanboys to quit with their fantasysing. Unfortunately the same does not hold true when the 'non fans' exercise their rights to Freedom of Speech. They're labelled as sadistic bashers and asked to leave the divine temples, less known as forums. Slightest humor is enough to hurt the sentiments of fangirls, the result being topics and comments as such are trashed by the fangirls in Dev team and warning levels being increased to flaunt some virtual 'power'. The members who go on to mock/wish deaths/curse/rapes/harm upon your families and you get away majorly for the two reasons.
1- Silliest interpretation of IF COC is made by the fangirl moderators who have no whatsoever understanding of the gist behind the particular rule in question and zero knowledge of how any 'law' or 'rule' is not subject to an individual interpretation. Any harrassment or cyber bullying is termed as a 'reaction' on part of fans while the non fans are accused of instigating and provoking.
2- They're the majority. Earns Vijay a moolah.
Report buttons are abused in the new virtual IF era and used as a mean to intimidate a handful of sane moderators still left (e.g. Aahana, Persephone, Sano88, Deepz, Angel-Jot, Rhadha and Najmeen).
Those who refuse to accept any shit from fangirls and remain objective are forced to step down from their position. For example, Shifali.
Naming some XYZ celeb as Barun Soaptea earns you a warning as the website owner disapproves of celeb name mocking yet no action is taken against individuals who label a member as 'Impotent'. At the end of the day, no matter how popular this portal is, most of the celebs do not give a flying f**k about the virtual websites like India Forums yet the admins take some sort of an obligation upon them to give cyber protection to celebs even if it means continuing cyber harrassment which goes around. If a particular Dev Team Member is challenged for their decisions, the admins refer it as 'cyber bullying'.
The survival of your virtual ID is now only possible if you start sucking up to a higher ups even if it means referring them as 'Bhaiyaas' or 'Diis' ignoring the possibility of being elder to the person being referred as such. Lol.
