Hey Omni! Great post made me think of my IF experience down memory lane! Started as a silent reader became a member during 2010. But now its turning into mess which keeps me away from commenting on any thread.

Though I joined the forums in 2010, I wasn't really active until nearly a year later. To be honest, I was active on shows that weren't really that popular with the majority so I didn't really experience any crazy situations or whatever.

I got into I-F when I started to watch EHMMBH, and frankly it was the best forum for me at the time. A year ago, thought the forum was popular, people's ideas and opinions were respected but now (I hardly watch the show anymore) there was cases where xyz fans would bash another, but there were good mods there who handled the situation such as OnlyHope and |Persephone|. I started to branch out to other shows purely because I was bored and began to watch IPKKND (I watched this when the show was a few months old), but I was hardly active in that forum because there was just too much activity! 'Good topics' were harder to see but 'bad topics' with bashing were all over the forum, and I really couldn't be bothered to go over it.

And now, I'm active most (well I try to) on QH forum and though it's not as crazy as IPKKND (thank god!), I fear it'll turn out like that. However, I think, apart from a few situations, the forum there have got it under control (again |Persephone| but also Jyoti06 and -RD-).

For other forum sections, there are other mods that I think are good with what they do, like Aahaana, Najmeen, Angel-Jot, Najmeen, Shifali) from those I have interacted with.

To be honest, I don't exactly know what are 'fangirl mods' as I haven't really experienced that but coming to your point about cyber-bullying, then yes that's a big problem. Bashing is one main problem, and like others, I think 'old' forums should be archived if shows no longer air, let there be a forum section for old shows where each topic is for one show, so that it seems tidy. For each topic or 'show' there should be a person appointed to look over the activity and report any misuse to higher DTs.

And I'm probably slow but I just realised what "Soaptea" meant and though Vijay is right that it shouldn't be used to replace an actor's name as it's deliberate but then neither should calling other members names be right! Bashing of actors are dealt with straight away but bashing of other members? Need to be dealt straight away as well! But as well as this, I think everyone needs to be have an open mind whether they are a fan of an actor or not, criticisms will always happen after all everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Constructive criticisms is fine, but people get confused between criticisms and bashing which lead to a whole cycle of events. I think what Vijay needs to do is to HIMSELF go over the rules and talk to the forum members personally, not get other members or mods to talk for him. Lack of communication between lower and higher people is what leads to a mess.

And I just had an idea, for those that say 'people are wronged because they're accused of being a basher and are given bans' etc etc, why not hold something like a jury? If as some of you say, Vijay/mods listen to the majority, why not GIVE the majority a chance to take this decision then? For example if abc was accused of bashing an actor, then there should be something like a jury where the higher DT (someone not personally linked to the cases) give the case to the whole of the IF with evidence of abc mistreating the forum, and then the members can give a guilty or not guilty response depending on what they think. If it's guilty then abc is given punishment but if not, then they are let go. But of course, the responses will have to taken in consideration if they are not biased, ie, for their preffered actor. This might take longer but it'll be fairer than other members accusing the DT for being unfair and taking unnecessary action. PLUS with evidence, members will know what abc did wrong and how they were wrong. This can go for cyber-bullying forum members as well.

Furthermore, there needs to be certain changes to the forum in my opinion and though the higher DT have been told, the changes still haven't been implanted. Again, I think Vijay himself needs to let people know about what he's been considering for the future of I-F because members are left in the dark about what is happening, leading to a mess again!

That's all what I have to say, for now...

I agree with most of the points you've made but I feel, and I can bet many others feel the same way that even Vijay couldn't be trusted on this bit. He went ahead to label us as 'hate-mongers' at the same when he warns the members not to resort on name calling. If you cannot really practice what you preach, can you expect any better from others? I still do not justify the celeb name calling and yes it's probably wrong to use words like 'gober' or 'piglet' for some actors but at the end of the day, that's the reaction you could expect from someone who wouldn't, atleast stoop to a level of cyber bullying a fellow member. I still do not find anything offensive in calling some unknown actor as 'Barun Soaptea'. It might be unethical but offensive? Lol. Give me a break. The last I checked, IF's posting restriction do not cover 'ethics'. If a slight mispelling of a surname is unethical for you then so is the 24/7 drooling for me. I do not drool and you do not mispell. To each, there own ethical standpoint.

I think I am one of the most oldest member of this forum since 2005.. What an awesome days they were.. The era of 2006-2009 was very friendly and it was a bashing free era of IF.. But now IF is no longer the 2006 type IF.. We have to think thousand time before posting anything on IF.. These are the reasons which have brought significant change in IF obviously in a negative sense..

Fair mods have been replaced by biased mods..
Phangiri has been increased to the core
Less freedom of speech.. We cannot share our opinions on IF
Admins and DT also supports favoritsm.

Yes I need IF back.. I need that friendly atmosphere of India Forums. That fight free IF.. And Yes I am raising my voice for a change ! Vijay its my sincerely request you to please do something regarding this. Otherwise the phangiri will take over IF .. You are good for nothing now a days.. Unfortunately its true (A shocking true).. Vijay is now under those idiotic Phangiri's under.. I am sure KAALA JAADU karaya gaya he vijay per 😆

as i told earlier in some topic, i joined here in 2006 but there hasn't been any change. i was a regular member of LEFT RIGHT LEFT forum. a decent serial which was horrified by Rajeev khandelwal's fan girls. the god of television at that time i guess. he pretty much sucked as an actor according to me. the fan girls used to constantly pick up the leading lady of the show just becoz she played a powerful grey character and not a lover to him. the height of desperation and too much biased killed the love of discussion for me. u couldnt' discuss anything else except rajeev khandelwal, how he looks, how he talks...how he shits, how's his ass, how he excretes...etc etc etc. from then the atmosphere was pretty much the same.

rules for these type of forums : the simple rules of these forums mostly that it is filled up with mostly jobless or too workaholic girls who just wanna suck up to their leading men of their favourite heroes on TV. they care very less abt the show or the happenings. criticism is a no no for them. u are only allowed to talk abt how in great shape their asses are. it has been the same. there hasn't been any change. i wish i hope that if more guys could join the internet forums the discussion had been more stable. The leading girls also get more appreciation besides their stupid 'couple effect' with their leading guys. NO THAT IS NOT CALLED APPRECIATION. it should be individually done. a bit of male population should also be seen here.

the new breeds are certainly an evolved (and more dangerous) version of those indicated by @bold

I wonder what will become of this forum in the years to come?

dont know abt spamming bt some fangirl come in QH forum and bash left right centre the cast and sometime talk bull**it abt ksg surbhi personal life...i dont think as fans we are over reacting as if they dont like it why bashing them openly? if they dont like the cast and story why come and open post? just to increase ranking. and yeah we all hv freedom of speech so if they can use it so do we.

and i dont know abt the golden era of IF bt can say some post are reported as long as talks and bashing and abusing someone (member/cast) go out of limit. and abt talking bad of someone, why allow impotent and sadakchap and kamina while some member use more bad language and still get over as none complain them.all post should be watched, not depending only report button

Yep. I'm quite well aware of Rajeeve Khandwala / Iqbal Khan /Aamna Shariff fangirls back then. I never really followed these shows back in my childhood except for one or two maybe. The good thing back then was how the Dev Team Members did not include (majorly) the fangirls and so a balanced approach was still pretty much evident. The ardent fans were quite a few in number as compared to their virtual population now and so it wasn't as messed up as it is now. At least that's what i've experienced. Nowadays, you're going to find fanatics not just on the the forum but also on the Dev Team of such forums. I a tally do not agree with the logic behind appointing the fangirls as the forum's higher ups. It gives rises to a self review threat and with that, you couldn't obviously expect a fair decision.

If a particular member 'bashed' KSG or any other actor, what gives you the right of harrasing them? Sorry to burst your bubble but virtual protection squads like Karan Protection Squad do not really achieve much. You cannot go around zipping our mouths if we discuss some XYZ Celeb's personal life. It's pretty much open to public you see.

If personal life of your favourite is bullshit then you cannot really blame the members for 'talking' bullshit about them. It's the life which is open to 'public scrutiny' they're really discussing afterall.
